The 1080p footage looks pretty decent. Much better than M50 or 80D. But ofcoz not as sharp and detail as the C100. Dual Pixels AF works fine in 1080p mode 😉
Absolutely, Canon EOS RP is a great camera for its price. Although the 4K has a 1.6x crop. But I personally don’t shoot crazy wide at the weddings anyway. So that’s not an issue for me. The only thing with the RP is, when shooting 4K. You lose the Dual Pixel AF. So if u wanna use a gimbal. Video AF might be a bit hard as u have to rely on Manual focus 😉
Can You Please Test Out That,Is The Eos RP Capable Of Recording 10Bit 4:2:2 Via HDMI On A External Recorder It'll Be Really Nice To Have That Feature At This Price Range

There is someone considering selling a panasonic GH5 for this one, just because it is a full frame camera and it has autofocus capabilities. Simply Boiling Sambar EOS-RP is a great camera. It gives beautiful photos and decent video. Mind you, the EOS-RP doesn’t have a strong video specs. Plus Canon puts a lot of limitations on this RP model. Such as 4K only available at 24p and 25p. Full HD doesn’t have 24p. And you can’t use EF-S lens in Full HD mode. And 4K doesn’t not support Dual Pixel AF. But if you don’t really care about those things. The camera actually not too bad. And the 4K footage just look lovely 😊
@@dsipictures so do you think canon gonna update the firmware and give us an option for shoot videos in 1080 24 FPS , and can is it able to install Magic lanter or hacks to bring 24 FPS @1080 in near future . is there any possibles .
Simply Boiling Sambar I’m not too sure, I can’t really tell. But what I know from the past. Canon never updated the frame rate before. And they like to protect every camera that they make. Such as 1DX Mark II gives you 4K 60p, but not the Canon Log. 5D Mark IV gives you Canon Log but not 4K 60p!! C200 can shoot RAW but can’t do 10Bit and C300 can do 10Bit but can’t do RAW 😌
Actually liked a lot! The first test of this camera in which we did not only see weaknesses from the first to the last minute. The image seemed very decent to me.
@MilesAndHeights What made you say that? The RP is a FAR better camera than the M5. I have the M5, M50, M6 Mk II and RP plus several DSLRs. The M5 is a slug, very slow in operation. The M50 runs rings around it. The M6 Mk II runs rings around that. The RP is fast in general operation with a slow burst rate for stills, obviously. However, the high ISO performance is vastly superior to the M5, about 2 stops cleaner, which is huge. The DPAF for stills and 1080P video is way ahead of the M5 too. So you keep your inferior M5, who cares? I made this comment because you are a smartarse posting a message that responds to a statement no-one even made. So I responded to your comment.
The footage looks good although not as impressive as other mirrorless cameras. Also it's a shame that you have to use a relatively wide lens to get an average fov footage due to the massive crop.
Well when you post something of any quality you might be in a position to criticise. Your videos are garbage, what do you shoot with? @@SL-wp2ow Is not a DSLR is a mirrorless camera. Personally if I take only photo I prefer a DSLR and not a mirrorless camera for many reasons. The reflex (both 3 Canon) that I own are better than the RP and the R, I will not change my gear for few ounces and a crappy video mode.
@@blender_wiki I am Sony user, but this camera is still a good starting point for Canon. You seem to be expecting too much for a first version of full frame mirrorless that weighs less than 500g. How about other brands' first mirrorless under $1600? More importantly, the video looks fantastic for many others as you can see in the rest of the comments section, and the likes that those comments got.
@@SL-wp2ow Yes, agree, but you know: switching from photo mode to the (soft) 4k video and get a 1.6x crop is a pure nightmare if you are a reporter on the field. Any professional people who need both modes will look somewhere else.

Hello! The "sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens" fit on this camera FF? I thought this lenses was made only for APS-C cameras...How does it works (with a normal adapter, crops etc.)?
When shooting in 4K, there is a 1.6x crop on EOS-RP. So the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 works perfectly 😊
How is the auto focus in 4K?
Its pretty bad in 4K. You lose the Dual Pixel AF :)
You say in a comment, that you can use EOS-HD C-Log... How do you do that?
You have to purchase that C-log from EOSHD website, here is the link. It works with all Canon DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. www.eoshd.com/news/now-available-eoshd-picture-profiles-brings-c-log-canon-dslrs-including-1d-x-mark-ii-5d-mark-iv/
Hi DSI, Do you have any examples of FHD 10809 50P for comparison, any comments on the Dual Pixel AF (which sadly is disabled for 4K) and as crazy as this sounds I'm wondering how the 1080P on this compares with 1080P from the Cinema EOS C100 MKII
The 1080p footage looks pretty decent. Much better than M50 or 80D. But ofcoz not as sharp and detail as the C100. Dual Pixels AF works fine in 1080p mode 😉
@@dsipictures Can you post some 1080 50P footage please
$699 Canon M50 is the cheapest 4K camera from Canon and has already been available for a year.
Thank you!
Hi bro. Can i buy for canon eos rp for wedding video shoot. ?
Absolutely, Canon EOS RP is a great camera for its price. Although the 4K has a 1.6x crop. But I personally don’t shoot crazy wide at the weddings anyway. So that’s not an issue for me. The only thing with the RP is, when shooting 4K. You lose the Dual Pixel AF. So if u wanna use a gimbal. Video AF might be a bit hard as u have to rely on Manual focus 😉
@@dsipictures I have good lenses, the 85 1.2 ll and 35 1.4 ll - 24 1.4 ll . I can't decide which is better EOS RP or EOS 90D . photo 60% - video 40%
Can You Please Test Out That,Is The Eos RP Capable Of Recording 10Bit 4:2:2 Via HDMI On A External Recorder
It'll Be Really Nice To Have That Feature At This Price Range
The Canon EOS-RP doesn't not have 4K 10Bit 4:2:2 out unfortunately. Only 1080p 8Bit 4:2:2 :(
@@dsipictures Do you know what the cheapest full frame camera is that can output 4k 10 bit 422 via HDMI (canon, sony, panasonic, ...)?
Great video as usual but i think that the footage of FujiFilm Xt3 is way better
(If we take in consideration that the two cameras have the same price)
But... its main purpose is the full-frame photography.
It wasn't meant for anything great either other than you try to save some funds to invest in good glass and taste it for the while you wait for the good bodies to come.
@@kikipratama1
Better to go with xt3, for photos and videos, it absolutely outperform this camera.
@@ajinkyathorat7502 Actually yes... it's still the best bang for buck. But this already past a year.
Now that the R5/R6 will be out, I'm sure the RP served well as a temporary body for those invested in RF lenses. So far they're excellent.
@@kikipratama1
Why would I go for canon r5 r6, when you can jump from apsc to fuji gfx 100
Medium format that absolutely destroys any canon camera in iq, plus great in body stabilization, anyone who want 4k 10bit and great photos.
@@kikipratama1
Plus fuji xt3 have 16 bit depth rate, more details would be captured.
At what bitrate does it record 4K?
MohondhaY 120Mbps in 4K 😉
Nice video. Thanks!
Canon EOS RP or Sony a6500 people ??
a6500 would be a better choice in terms of video shooting. But if you think you do 90% stills and just little bit of video. Then the EOS-RP is not a bad choice consider it is a full frame camera :)
xt3
@@dsipictures that's mean full frame has nothing to do with videos right ?!
Get the latest Fujifilm X-t30. Look at it's video quality and get ready to be be amazed! Avoid th Sony a6500, it over heats btw.
which video quality is better? RP or R50 ?
1080p is way better on RP (full sensor with DPD autofocus). The R50 is better at 4k.
Does it support to setup lowest shutter speed in auto iso?
The lowest shutter speed is 1/25 for video. And yes you can leave it as Auto ISO 😉
Can it film at 25/24fps in European version ?
I do have 4K 24p and 25p, Full HD 25p, 30p, 50p and 60p in Australian version :)
DSI Pictures did you say 25p in 1080p? is the same or almost the same as 24p?
Is there any difference between the quality of 1080p from the rp compare to other Canon camera like eos r,5d4 and 6d2?
EOS-R, EOSRP, 5D Mark IV and the 6D Mark II, they all look very similar in terms of the video quality. Unless you go something like M50 or 200D. Then you can definitely tell they look a bit softer :)
music:ァォハル where can i find it ? ths
The footage looks good anyways but for the camera body price it looks just awesome!
Yea, the specs of the EOS-R might be very weak. But consider this full frame camera just US$1299. Totally understand why Canon puts all the limitations on it. But other than that. The camera has a beautiful 4K image plus Canon Colour. I’m sure there are still buyers :)
Exactly!
There is someone considering selling a panasonic GH5 for this one, just because it is a full frame camera and it has autofocus capabilities. Regrettably, 5K 10 bit anamorphic mode is a serious, very serious advantage the gh5 has over this camera (and the video tools, v log l) I guess RP is only suitable for quality photos and social media videos.
Que bela imagem, não vejo a hora da minha chegar
Hey , i would like to buy a camera EOS -RP in my list . am focusing both in photography as well as video .. a bit more in video where i can shoot with a more like cinematic looks .. so which camera do u recommend . right now am having an EOS 5D Mark i ( classic ) and 800d so am having couple of EF & EFS Lens . please reply . Thankq
You film Perth so beautiful, nice video

Thank you sir. Now i’m sure to buy this camera, cause my budget 😅
Actually liked a lot!
The first test of this camera in which we did not only see weaknesses from the first to the last minute. The image seemed very decent to me.
Ill keep my Canon M5 for now.
Snap! Gonna wait for the M5 ii. More affordable lenses and should have 4K
@@cooloox Did I compare the specs of M5 with any other camera? Not sure what you are on abt. It was a personal comment. It started with ‘I’ll’.

The footage looks good although not as impressive as other mirrorless cameras. Also it's a shame that you have to use a relatively wide lens to get an average fov footage due to the massive crop.
Well when you post something of any quality you might be in a position to criticise. Your videos are garbage, what do you shoot with? Certainly not one of the 'other mirrorless cameras' you claim is better. Your footage is shaky, poorly exposed, sometimes not even level... and you criticise this camera: Hahahahaha
@@cooloox lol at least I just post random clips not work and I’m not an old dude who nitpick little things like you and yes those video are shot with the XT3 with the Provia profile and I could get way better footage if I shoot in F log and in 10 bit but those videos ain’t work or to showcase any camera but you’re right those videos are garbage since I just shoot randomly. At least I make constructive criticism and I didn’t even criticize this video creator and you being that old and still attack other people (also a 1 year old comment lol) for posting constructive criticism (which is just a comment expressing my view on this camera in which the OP approves, with a ❤️). Before attacking other please look at yourself, I think you’re in your 40s or even 50s (looking at your profile pic and it would be more laughable if you ain’t you) and it’s laughable that you attack other people for expressing their views on a specific camera and I stated some facts that is true on the camera (like the 4k crop) yet you attacked me, I suggest you grow up please and if you’re so pro at filmmaking why don’t you post any video. I mean like you’re so old and you still attack other people for having different views than you? What a shame and I have no time to waste with you. Oh btw, I no longer have the XT3 but I have the EOS R6 right now but the video specs is way above the RP (facts, lol I think you’ll get mad) and I could get way better footage (from a work perspective, not just to please you) and the overheating has never been an issue to me lol.

I realize 90D is APS-C sensor and RP is full-frame, but from the tests I've seen, then 90D looks just as good as the RP. You get more light with the RP, but not better quality.

As we all know Canon doesn’t really care about prosumer market. If u need better video. They want you to go Cine Line. Such as C100 MKII, C200 or C300 MKII 😌

panasonic gh4 is better then this still
The image look very soft , if this are the results definitely is not a good video camera. If you buy for photos you can use it for some emergency 4k footage, but that's not a camera for professional videomaker.
Price point is not that good either if consider all the limitation you got.
Is almost insulting that Canon don't want share a bit his great video tech on they lower price camera.
That said by a long time Canon user.
Obviously, professional videomaker wouldn't buy this camera for the sole purpose of video shooting. You should interpret that anyone who owns this DSLR who takes photographs can additionally capture video like above when needed. :)
@@SL-wp2ow Is not a DSLR is a mirrorless camera. Personally if I take only photo I prefer a DSLR and not a mirrorless camera for many reasons. The competitors make very good mirrorless, if you are the brand who arrive late and you have inferior specs almost everywhere is difficult to pretend that the true professionals still trust you after 2 consecutive falliure.
You will need to remember that Canon just took a first step, and can come up with better versions in next iterations. What was a6000 like when it first came out? How about other brands' first mirrorless under $1600? Your main point in the original comment seems to be abnormal, because you are talking about video performance on $1400 mirrorless that just came out as the company's first iteration whose primary purpose is to take photos.
Any professional people who need both modes will look somewhere else.

idk if it's right to ask this, or if it can be compared, but would you compare it with an xt3? is it trully better because of the full frame?
In terms of the specs, Fujifilm XT3 is way better. Cos when you switch it to 4K mode. The EOS-RP no longer using the Full Frame sensor. It crops in to APS-C. So it is just same as the XT3. So I would rather pick the XT3 :)
