Nice neat job as always. We always stack blocks this way never on flat. Keep up the good work boys.👍👍
Cheers Nigel, yep upright all the way 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
A very smart looking job, especially so when you're working in such tight quarters with ghastly weather. Thanks for posting, your videos just get better and better.
Cheers Christopher glad you enjoy the channel 🧱👍🏽

@@darrenstockton9595 . Yeah so glad he chose to come and work with me 🧱👍🏼
Great work boys. Still messing about with a grinder for cutting 14inch concrete cutter a must get it twice as fast no faffing about turning blocks over to cut other side.
we cant afford one of those .....! thats a deposit for a holiday ! we have priorities 😏🧱👍🏽
Your good conscientious guys running that DPM in,as soon as I saw those joists I thought ooh those ends want wrapping or some damp run underneath, that's what starting my building career doing damp proofing and remedial work gets me.
Nice work lads, thanks for the video!
🧱👍🏽
Great job and nice video work. Block stacking makes sense. Wonder if others don't do cos of site safety (kids breaking in ) on more open sites. For the profile on the wall for the internals, why not fix a batten to the wall with bunch of frame screws, with some old say M10 nuts as spacers, then thread the line through the gap. That said you seemed to do just fine without it LOL. Look forward to next one.
Good idea 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
I love your videos cause you guys don’t waste time you just start flogging em in the wall. Great looking job
Cheers Richard pal 🧱👍🏽
Looking good lads 👌🏼😀
Thanks Baz 🧱👍🏽

Hey Guys awesome job you made that corner look so easy Steve also never noticed it before Steve you tape the base of your trowel on the spot is there a reason, have a awesome week all the best Tony 👍
Hi Tony , not sure what you mean about the trowel ? 🧱👍🏼
Hi guys great job nice to use them fibolites. Just doin a job now on some apartments and can you believe some of the blocks are 10n impossible to lay at best of times.BTW that looks like Skem your working in with all that no fines concrete houses.
10 n ! It’s a no from me 🥵😆.

Good job so far guys, same piss weather in Belgium here.. Rained off a few times this week no fun at all , no dpc there isn't, setback food you noticed it or maybe some water issues later 👌🙏 stay safe guys
Yeah customer said don’t worry about it but we put in the Dpc anyway , just mad I missed it in the first place 🙄🧱👍🏽

@@SteveAndAlexBuild Steve that floor structure will eventually be subject to wet rot the d.p.c should have been placed on top of the first course of blocks up from the foundation which would have provided protection to the entirety of the floor structure . These timber joists floors are always problematic they require very detailed thought prior to construction. I’d always advise against them and would only use them as a last resort .

Great work guys what size do you put your cavity in for insulation to stop them squeezing your block ? We are nearly always on timber kits in Scotland ?
We add 5 mm which is just enough unless the insulation is crap like our first pack so we struggled a bit 😠🧱👍🏽
Makes sense to stack the blocks the way you do. Did you build your own house?
Unfortunately not 🧱👍🏼
Good work men. 👍🏻I stack block the same way as you pal I think it’s easier. As for the scaffolding on your house defo the money 😝👍🏻
Yeah upright is right 👌🏽As for the scaff we had to get to lintel off lift 2..... 29 courses and they wanted the corbels done too , ridiculous !!!🤬🧱👍🏽
Always stack the blocks way there getting laid block on flat stacked flat block up right blocks get stacked up right 😀
@@lmilne4859 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
I hate rockwool with a passion but I do like those light weight blocks .and you make it look effortless . I've been out of it three years next month but I'd go back tomorrow .very nice lads even better the second time 👍
Cheers David we do like using the fibolites 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
Hi Steve can you use the fibolite blocks on the outside?...sorry Steve I thought u was using normal blocks on outside then realised u was using fibolite on both lol
Yes mate as it’s getting rendered 🧱👍🏽
Nice work once again guys. May I ask what programme do you use to edit the videos because I are clueless with that kind of thing
Thanks pal . We use I movie 🎥 . It’s a free app on any Apple device and it’s quite easy to pick . 🧱👍🏼
Hi Steve, thanks for the video. I notice that you haven't returned the inner leaf, left a check or built in a cavity closer at the window opening.. What's the plan here?
We our remidial ones in after , cut to size and slot in 🧱👍🏽
I didn't think Building Regs allowed return closing of a cavity now?
@@ColinDH12345 you might be right there about a complete close, but I understand that you can return the inner leaf to, say, 25mm off the outside leaf and insert an insulated vertical dpc.
Helps with fixing points for doors etc, but maintains that moisture barrier BC wants..
@@ColinDH12345 . Didn’t think so 🧱👍🏽

what kind of insulation material is being used in between the walls?
Fibreglass full fill cavity batts 100 mm 🧱👍🏽

Nice job mate .me my 2 boys work togather and god it's fun and gen get bit wack at times but wont have it any other way
Nice one , great to here 🧱👍🏽
Steve, what are the upgraded stabilizers like to the old one, is there any movement in them
No , the old ones were fine but they have just beefed them up 💪🏼🧱👍🏽
What's the music pls?
Also great work again chaps. At it tomorrow? I certainly am cant remember the last saturday i I had off 🤦♂️
We don’t know the music as it’s just taken from the RUclips free library and yep in tomorrow as usual 🙄🧱👍🏼
Nice vid. What you reckon to them fibolites compared to 7n solids? On a non bricky note, be better if them joists were wrapped in dpc if gonna build in.. these days be better doing hangers
I’d have them over 7n block any day . As for the joists they are nothing to do with us 👍🏼🧱
@@SteveAndAlexBuild what is shrinkage like on them? They as bad as thermalites for cracking when they dry out? Yea i know mate just thinking BC might pull that on the joists..
@@dm8401 . I have never seen a thermalite crack they are even the hardest to Cut , great block , just bloody expensive now 🤯🧱👍🏼
@@SteveAndAlexBuild loads of reno jobs i go and when you take plasterboard off walls with thermalites behind LOADS of shrinkage cracks through the blocks.. you wont see them crack as you build, its later on..

Hi did you manage to get the damp under the joists? Others making your work harder.
Yeah it was a right pain in the arse 🥵👍🏼🧱
Ot was very kind of you to do that. You could of told them to do it or even worse say nowt.

Was thinking much the same Steve!
You may have found the jack from the van might have come in handy to lift those joists a tad m8.
@@planetyouranus22 😆💪🏼🧱👍🏽
rather than free handing the internal block work, couldnt you use 2 dutch pins and 2 corner blocks, one at the top and one at the bottom, then string a line off? :)
🤔🧱👍🏽
I notice Alex often has his headphones in. Is it you or your music he doesn’t like listening to? Haha
Both I think 🤣🤣🧱👍🏽

Untreated joists on the wrong hangers, if the outside is being rendered needs to be 7.5 Newton blocks, didnt think fibolite whent to 7.5 Newton could be wrong.
🧱👍🏽
Those blocks are great to render on to doesn't matter what Newton they are 😂
@@Michael-hs3bo 😉🧱👍🏽
The newton value of a block is relating to its strength under compression ! Obviously this has nothing to do with the render. The reason 7N blocks are good for rendering is they provide a good key and are not to thirsty. The only reason fibrelite blocks are not used more for the outer skin of a rendered building is they are more expensive than 7N lightweights.
