  • Thornborough Henges is known as the 'Stonehenge of the North' of England. Just a short drive from Ripon, North Yorkshire, Thornborough is the latest heritage site to be gifted to the nation. Dating back around 4,500 years, this ancient Neolithic monument is now under the care of English Heritage and will finally be removed from England's heritage 'at risk' register. Check out this exclusive drone footage and enjoy one of England's least known and most mysterious ancient monuments from above.

I was brought up in Yorkshire and, after a twenty year absence down South, I’ve been back for more than twenty years but I still didn’t know about the Thornborough Henges until a few months ago. I’m definitely going to visit in the next few months as it’s less than an hour’s drive from my home.
Thank you for this interesting short video.

I'm hoping to visit these next week on a hike from Bedale to Ripon.
