The man had outstanding taste in every shape and forms. I believe it should have remained as it was when he was alive. His presence and adornement have brought true class to a beautiful dwelling. I'm not sure how much he would appreciate seeing people roaming about his home but then again this is what keeps legends alive!

It’s not just the home which is spectacular, but the location in which it sits on that makes it that special.
I agree. I was underwhelmed by the interior. I expected something in keeping with the house's magnificent Belle Epoch exterior, with a modern twist. But it's kind of boring. And does EVERY SINGLE ROOM have to have a big screen tv? Ugh! Surely there are ways to hide those ugly tech toys. That just makes the rooms look so tacky. Just my opinipn.

For once I am amazed at the adage "your house is as your soul", for LA VIGIE is as artistically admirable as Mr.Lagerfeld. His creativity, rigor are not to be recalled, they were his backbone.Having re-created this mansion to his liking could not have been improved, in anyway. Pure art. Purity in his drawings. He was THE image of creation. For me, the parangon of creation. Thank you for this post. Regards.

A beautiful place, inside & out. It would be wonderful to see it as Lagerfeld left it. Artist Vigee-Lebrun lived in the 18th & 19th, not the 17th century.
I'd love to be at the villa in the early morning as the sun is coming up. --- The staircase area is a work of art by itself. I wonder if the house might have an elevator somewhere inside. I have arthritis and going up and down the stairs would be difficult. --- Starting at 6:29 where we look out to the ocean, that could be a modern-day painting in the style of Edward Hopper the American painter. -- I once saw a TV news story about Karl Lagerfeld and it was mentioned how much he had done and still did ( a LOT) and the reporter interviewing the designer asked in an amazed tone of voice how Mr. Lagerfeld got so much done. He simply replied, "Busy people always have time". --- Maybe someone else knows about t his and can add a comment: I believe it was Karl Lagerfeld who left behind an enormous collection of books at the time of his death. The number was so great they were kept in a swimming pool or some unusual location.

Legally this villa is in France. Lagerfeld bought to thwart french tax laws by becoming a monaco resident,. however as you say its in france by a few hundred metres
