He wasn’t mean at all, just realistic in his world views and very direct. You won’t achieve such lofty goals by being everybody’s darling.

Yes, I often agreed w/him on his various statements & not on others….it’s fine. He was entitled to his opinion, just like we all should be. That’s what’s wrong w/society right now (among other things): somehow people aren’t entitled to their opinion anymore w/o punitive consequences assuming you’re on the “wrong” side of popular group think.

I love how Karl embrace the Chanel style in modern time, no one could do the same classy and modern touch as Karl does! Maybe he's mean, but a great worker and if you want the perfection, Tom Ford do the same, you must be a perfectionist, a little OCD let me say 😅. I understand him because I'm the same. But There's no one like Karl and he will be the best and most powerful fashion director of this time.

Karl may or may not have been “lonely,” but most true artists tend to be of a singular mind/singularly-focused and so it’s not unusual that they often don’t marry since their work IS their life. Really not surprising.

Only as they apply to the bloated!
Since his comment, they have reached a much wider (and slimmer) audience in a host of interesting fabrics and embellishments, hence evolving to a conscious and sometimes costly fashion choice - especially as "street chic" - and not just a dreary uni dimensional necessity for our grocery loving bretheren!

The average person can be rude every day, and basically not too many people will notice. At the end of the day he was just human, he was creative. He made his mark, and he died, like the rest of us will, and one way or another. And yes, we can choose to be offended or not free speech, etc. and we should not forget He is German. I’ve worked for several Germans and the first thing they tell you when they start to actually like you is that they are going to be very blunt and that’s just how they are. Every culture has its peculiarities and viva la difference !
You have to admit it gives us a something to talk about because of course everybody knows who he is, so we can all be a AGAHST!
LOL, so why don’t we all in our own way just follow his lead and get a life where we don’t have to have a single thought for what other people are saying, in fact, do the opposite, then be very polite, cordial, and overly apologetic and complementary, and guess what somebody will fault you for that too!
I’m just a fan of human beings. It’s not any particular person, but I do admire the creativity. And a good turn of a phrase for instance, in this case what Chanel said or maybe she didn’t but it doesn’t matter. It’s great whoever pinned it. “ I don’t care what you think about me, because, I don’t think about you at all.!😂🎉

A former model of this man has accused him of predatory sex assault against her, in the backstage room in London.
The doc is availabe here on youtube. "Karl Lagerfeld a survivor's account of sexual abuse in the fashion industry".
She made the accusations before his death, in case someone says she did it when he no longer can defend himself.
