thanks, good stuff! I can see a bit of struggle with some tools and settings, but in the end you got something interesting and quite close to your original reference. Maybe try playing with booleans in your next sessions, they are really good and fast in Coat. As for painting, I wouldn't say Substance is faster... It is different. Substance is great with semi automatic smart materials, and has much better baking tools. In SP you can quickly drop few smart materials on different parts, and get quick and dirty textures really fast. But if you like manual handpainting in 3D - Coat is probably a better choice.

At 8:00 in the video I was like: OK this would have taken me around 20 seconds in Blender. What's the point? Though I really like the fact this is voxel and you basically never had to move a single polygon. 3DCoat is the tool I am always looking at but it's so intimidating I never pulled the trigger because I feel like it will take me 2 years to learn it.
The UI is what is putting me off the most. It seems there is no logic or proper hierarchy. It's very difficult to make a good UI and probably I am also used to other software like Blender, Affinity, Adobe, etc.
Maybe one day I'll try it again... 3DCoat overall seems a very powerful tool.
