    Can you textur before retopologizing the mode?

      Yes, you can already paint or full PBR texture your models in 3d Coat and later bake it down to textures. No need to wait for retopo/decimation. You can even automate the process. Look into : "File -> "Decimate -> Automap -> UV " export option to have a low res, textured model in just a few clicks.
      However, need keep in mimd that Voxels/Tris are way lower in numbers than pixels in a texture, so youd have to go very high res in order to have crisper detail.
