I think some of my favorites this year were: - Diavola (Haunted house meets family drama) - Bloom (cottagecore romance gone wrong) - Girls Night out (werewolf coming of rage) - Her Own Happiness (romance/coming of age) - Heads will Roll (summer camp slasher)
I can’t wait to read The Wedding People. The way you speak about it, I just know I’m going to love it. My favorites of the year were Foster by Claire Keegan and The Haar by David Sodergren ❤
Hi, Peyton, Thank you for your year end review. I just ordered Between Two Fires, as I love good horror writing, so I've got my seat belt ready to buckle in! I hope 2025 brings you and all your loved ones good health, success, and more great reads! All the best. 🎉🎉💕💕
I truly enjoy seeing that you posted a video. You have this personality that you are my friend!! Your book recommendations are always so great. I watch your videos and add the books you read that I think I would like on my Kindle and I am so ready to read them! I currently have a hold on Delilah Green Doesn't Care because of how highly you talk about it! Thank you for being here!!!
My 2024 favorites: Blood Over Bright Haven by ML Wang, the entire Burning Kingdoms trilogy by Tasha Suri, Translation State by Ann Leckie, and The Goblin Emporer by Katherine Addison
I found your channel from your horror recs videos earlier this fall. And omg. We have almost identical tastes and it's SO REFRESHING knowing there's someone else out there who isn't repulsed by those books. Love your content! Thank you for sharing your reads with us and all the hard work that entails. Happy holidays and HNY! ❤
You were SO RIGHT about Grey Dog!! Flew through it, couldn't put it down. 🔥 Thanks for all you've done this year! Your channel is wonderful, and I can't wait to see what you share in 2025!! ❤️
SOOOO glad you loved Priory of the Orange Tree, love that one soooo much if you like hefty and dark, the best book I read this year was Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez will very likely be up your alley, nothing has stayed in my head quite like it
Finished Grey Dog on your recommendation the other day and loved it. I think my fave of the year was All The Colours of the Dark by Chris Whittaker. It kind of broke my heart a bit. And another I loved was The Postcard by Anne Berest.
So, here's a thing: I just read "Grey dog" out of your recommendation (since I love "The Witch") and... well... I didn't love that it was actually ideologically engaged (I am all for feminism and empowering women, just not big on camouflaging feminist manifestos as "just novels", if you know what I mean) BUT I did love the vibes and find it to be a good recommendation (it was a 6 out of 10 read for me, but I'd give it like 8 for the climate and it's pretty high for me, I don't usually give books more than 8-9 "stars", the tens are reserved for my beloved childhood books 😅). So I'm gonna trust your recommendations anyway! 😁 Greetings from Poland!
I love that you read graphic novels. I dont know if you've read it but I highly highly highly recommend Pride of Baghdad by Brian Vaughan. It's a beautifully illustrated graphic novel about the Iraq War from the perspective of the civilians, albeit with a twist. It's emotional, heart-wrenching, wonderful. It's a quick read and is one of my all-time fave graphic novels.
You did make me want to pick up Delilah green doesn’t care from this video as well as I’ve been dipping my toe into romances this year and have found a few I like.
Some favorites this year: Venco by Cherie Dimaline: a road trip quest with modern feminist witches vs ancient misogynistic evil. Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White. The most harrowing YA horror with queer/trans rep. (Also their book The Spirit Bares Its Teeth). and: Lucky Red by Claudia Cravens
I love watching your reviews. I am reading Still Missing based on your review. I'm liking it so far, just started it. This book is right up my alley. I'm curious watching this video what are the tabs you put in the books? Is it notes for the videos or something else?
I know I said this before, but you have inspired me to read horror again. Besides the Stephen King, which I've always read, the last several years I've read True Crime and biographies, and way too much politics! I swear, I need to remain sane... So, back to fiction I must go. I have this kind of crazy obsession with Elvis Presley. Not with his music, but who he was, and how and why he became what he did. Anyway, I read a lot about him, and this year I found one of the best books on him. Elvis Presley: A Southern Life by Joel Williamson. Being from the south means a lot when talking about who a person is. I'm not from the south, I live in the Wisconsin side of the twin ports. (a whole other unique life) I'm reading A Head Full Of Ghosts right now. The first of the books that I bought based on your suggestions.

I was distracted a lot during this video by how nice the colour combo of your hair/jumper is!!
