Love the video! I also retwist every two weeks. If I dare wash my hair and not retwist I’m in for an absolute nightmare. Ultimately I do what’s best for MY hair I don’t subscribe to a lot of the “loc rules” and I think that’s why I enjoy my locs so much. Keep it up sis.❤️❤️❤️
So I think the reason you can get away with retwisting every 2 weeks is because you don’t do tight retwists. That’s the main problem. I prefer to wash every two weeks as well my scalp needs that. I can’t go too long without a retwist. My hair grows away from my locs and I hate it. So I will retwist once a month and then neaten my hair during my 2nd wash of the month. By neaten I mean just wrapping my loose hair at the root around the look for a neat look but not fully retwisting. That works for me ❤️
Sister, I feel you!! My locs are mid-back length and my hair also grows away from my locs. I like your maintenance scheduleule. I may have to try that.
I used to wash my long locs once a week and retwist every 1.5 months. Now I wash once every 2 weeks and try to retwist every 1-2months. I have loose hair some places, and I only pull them in when I retwist.
Mystiquegale I’ve done braids as well when I don’t feel like doing much else 😩 but I agree. I like the frizzy look at times. Really depends on what I have going on as far as events and activities.
I have baby locs and I got them last August, I’ve only gotten a “proper” retwist twice since then, I can’t do them myself. Every time I wash it, I just make sure to separate the locs so they don’t marry
Wow thanks for this. I just started my loc journey and was wondering if retwisting every two weeks was excessive. I get a lot of frizz but I need to wash my hair every 1.5 to 2 weeks. Much love from the Caribbean🇩🇲
My parts look just like yours but I wish I could get them like that by just feeling through my head. I literally have to sit down and put a mirror in front of me and one in back at a angle to see the back of my head. It definitely helps me maintain a good retwist but my eyes be feeling so strained by the time I’m finished lol.
I got my locs December 4, 2019 and I get my locs maintenance once a month. I get them interlocked. The whole process has been awesome. I love the once a month maintenance because it allows my hair to be free. I personally dont care about super neatness either. I loved you and your videos Keisha. I am seriously considering try out some of your hair products as well. Peace and bleassing.
@@KeishaCharmaine Oh definitely. The great thing about my stylist is she has been doing my hair for 5 years and she never does anything tight. She always leaves room at the root, its never tight, and she never pulls. That's what I love about her.
I applaud you. You got amazing skills. I don't know how you pull this off. I've tried to maintain my locs myself but the parts are never this neat and the twist itself it's just lose. I will stick to going to the locticians so I don't ruin my hair. Your hair is amazing and you got it to what it is... That is amazing
The lion loc retwist gel is $22 for an 8zo bottle 👀 and the oil like $17 but I wanna try this. I’ve been using Taliah Waajid since I started my locs 7 going on 8 years now and I’ve notice a difference When it comes to that product I’ve never had product buildup and no I do not use a lot of the product when I retwist. And also no I do not have product buildup but I have been noticing a white film after I do my retwist. This product you mentioned it’s pretty freaking expensive but I want to try it out since it has such great reviews as well as the oil.
Wow! I am about a year and 3 months in. I use oil and water and found that the making sure the hairs are in the proper area is the hardest and my shoulders are screaming lol! Also working out makes my hair around the edges go POOF! Lol...I am going to check out Lion Locs though... Thank you for your amazing videos!
Thanks for the luv! I have learned a lot from watching your videos. I even apply the technique you talk about in regards to holding moisture in you hair, to my skin in general. I'm probably one of the few moms yelling in the bathroom at her kids for letting the steam out of the bathroom in the mornings while she showers because "I can't lock the moisture in with the oil if there's no steam in here! No one cares if their mother doesn't have moist skin!" Needless to say I get comments from my teen for using the word moist...
I colored my hair 4 years ago & just the dyed tips are goimg limp. I noticed you had color before & dont now. How did you maintain your hair's health & fullness after color? And did you get rid of the color for a reason?
Keisha Charmaine yeah they fell out🤦🏾♀️. I believe from waiting too long to retwist just washing and going and my hair doesn’t grow in my loc.. it grows around it so I noticed it would look super thin until I connect the new growth on it
Hind sight. Looking back, does it scare you that you may have had Corona Virus. They say many have had it and recovered not knowing they had it, thinking it was just a cold or the flu. I'm just asking because I'm from Buffalo NY. We are seeing family and friends not recover. I wish u safety and health. Stay blessed 🙏 sistah. I know your better now because I looked ahead. I'm so happy you're better.
Girl, your locs are GORGEOUS....

This is the perfect video for me! I just started my journey 3 months ago (documenting it as well) and I plan on starting to maintain them myself.
happii locs yes it was 😘

I do the same, but I wash my hair at least once a week. I retwist once a month, but separate and wrap loose hair around my locs after each wash.

I retwist every single week. Been doing this for over 5 years.
I have baby locs and I got them last August, I’ve only gotten a “proper” retwist twice since then, I can’t do them myself. Every time I wash it, I just make sure to separate the locs so they don’t marry

Triggering Trina be cautious about interlocking once a month. That is very frequent for interlocking and can cause thinning at the roots.

Innocentia Mashele I appreciate that

Anonymous Fandom thank you, revlon ultra hd vinyl polish in “so shady/915”
I'm on my second set I can't wait for some growth
Passionate Locs can’t wait either
I’m also on my second set. My first set was in for almost 10 yrs. I’m so excited 😆
@@Mrș_Caș3y what made you start another journey??
I luv the parts!
Absolutely love your videos
How do you moisturize your locs between retwist? Do you spray with water every day?
Woouuaarrr)))))love))))Bravo Keischa))))
Great video🙌🙌 I wash my locs when its dirty like 2 weeks and I retwist after wash
Great video Keisha ! Good information for beginners doing their own hair like myself

What kind of scarf do you wear when working out? A bandana?
Have you ever twisted in the opposite direction then back? Do you know what happens to your locs when you do this?

TFS! I had my hair interlocked for the first time. I love it. Do you recommend retwisting in between?
G.Michelle McCardell yes if you want a neat look absolutely
How often do you interlock?
Can I still interlock while using this ?
Omg you’re parts are perfect. Lol I’ve ruined mine by combining locs here and there from thinning 😩
Same. There's no such thing as straight perfect parts for me lol
I’ve combined a bunch too along my hairline all the way around
Hello))Keischa how many locks have you done in your hairstyles ?

NaturReal of LgE she probably has a video on that if you at her older videos because I’m going to eventually dye mine in a few months
Nice video, good information! What can I do about missing locs? I have 3 in the front
itsthehomieAB what do you mean by missing locs? They fell out? How?
Keisha Charmaine yeah they fell out🤦🏾♀️. I believe from waiting too long to retwist just washing and going and my hair doesn’t grow in my loc.. it grows around it so I noticed it would look super thin until I connect the new growth on it
@@itsthehomieAB reattach crochet them back and don't wait too long after that as you know now .I do my roots every 3 months on average but I interlock
Beautiful
Do a video on how to use the crochet needle on your locs if you can please
What size is your dreads I’m getting mine tmr
Please answer fast I don’t want them giving me the wrong size 🥺😫

There is exactly 4 dislikes on so many vids, these 4 squares are hurt Honey. Lol that's weird. Cool vid!
I like very nice
To each his own, 2 weeks is way too much for me . I deep condition, wash and oil my scalp and locs and then retwist every 3 to 4 weeks.
Eartha Kitt beautiful.
Nice
What is PVP
