Just did my cb500x air filter on the weekend too at 12,000 km(Recommended in the manual). Best to remove the intake tube first with a snub nose phillips head. Lets the filter housing come out without removing the ECU. 👍
got mine in july MY21 almost 7.5k km, love your vids cause they are original, and so are you! cb500x is very popular bike, so vids like these about maintenance, are very useful.
Wow, that is fairly easy procedure on Honda. I had to remove side plastics and fuel tank to get to air filter on 2015 Suzuki V-Strom 1000. I think 25k miles is a little to much for air filter)
Not too bad. I don't even know what the interval is supposed to be - I'll have to look. I'm not even on my second oil change (16000) yet on my 2020, but I am impressed with how Honda (low maintenance) these are. The only thing I've needed were tires at about 10,000 - and that's the longest I've ever gotten out of a rear. You hit it much harder and I've seen you do tires, brakes, fork seals, but really nothing unexpected. I hope to see you hit 100k subscribers and miles before you switch bikes.
I see you've changed muffler/exhaust! What did you put on there and why if you don't mind explaining? I'm learning so... ya :) Thanks for the great vids. You're now my fav youtube channel
Mid interval you can get a vacuum hose into the filter and suck out most of the grime that had already built up. It is very impressive the engine is still running well with 40,000 kms on the original air filter when honda recommends replacing it after 12K…😁😁 How about valve clearance, when did you do that? Did it need adjusting?
Its hard to remove because of ECU. Model before 2019 doesn't have ecu there so it's much easier to reinstall filter. Move ecu to side where was battery and then remove black plastic (hose) its much easier to pull filter that way.
I did my air filter removed at 10km and i have seen a good amount of dust inside not like yours obviously.. I am in my 3 change of oil on 10km I have put Honda oem which sucks for me, bel ray same results, motul same results. The only oil I have put and I am really satisfied with is the repsol which is American type of oil and very difficult to import to Greece.. I am going to stay with that oil for now on even tho it's very costly
Pretty bummed right now. Honda US just announced that the 2022 will be here by next month BUT... we're only getting the Pearl Organic Green, which I think is hideous. (If someone else likes it, cool) No Grand Prix red or black. 😢
@Oregon Motorcycle I know it's typical for Honda to only bring one color to the US, and I was prepared for that. I didn't think it would be green. I would have bet on the black since the last couple of years were red. I think the green was a mistake, though. It's popular in Europe but I bet it won't sell well in the US. Shame!

Thanks for the tip! 👊

Thanks man! I hope to hit 100k too. Both on my Channel and my bike! 👊

If you had to choose between the new cb500x and the g310gs which would you choose?

Ha ha. I’m not doing the valve clearance until I start noticing it running differently. 30K miles on it now.
@@OregonMotorcycle Amazing!
One last Q
Did you replace the spark plugs?
This filter did an great job as you we see🤙
Have a good one
👊
If you take the little 90-degree snorkel off the intake, you can get some nice intake growl under WOT 😎
I almost left it off;)
and easier to remove the housing too. would you believe the early ones had the screws on the intake side?
the snorkel allows air to funnel in from the side panel.

why are you satisfied only with the repsol oil?

Merci beaucoup l'Ami !
They don't make it easy, mine are under the fairings I guess, not looking forward to that change, looks like you didn't have a hard time though
Wasn’t too bad. Much easier after I removed the ECU.

Crazy. 2023 will have more colors. Just like in 19 only red was available.
They are probably gonna try and get more than retail too.
