      It had low drag aero profile and plus the merc engine was like a marriage made in cars haven, thats how they matched the pace of the mercs and redbull in the flattest circuit on the calendar. This year's been the exact opposite though so yeah there's that.

      @@tygogaming7480 no, he upshifts before the DRS is hit, you can hear the revs shoot up immediately when the system is activated. you can even see it on the graphic

      it was for renault engines, in 2021 they used the nearly same car as the 2020 one but with a merc engine instead but still the gearbox was for renault engines thats why it sounded not like a merc engine

    1:30 Geez, mildly terrifying moment when Norris pulls out of the slipstream. That tiny rise is the rear of the car losing grip massively because of the airflow suddenly reattaching on the front of the car, while the DRS is already open. Heavy instability for a fraction of a second. Check Maldonado vs Verstappen in Austria 2015 what happens if you are not on the case immediately, or respond too agressively with steering inputs.

      I’ve literally never seen people over analyse to this extent. Sometimes it’s better to say nothing at all. No dangerous move whatsoever. The above is what happens by the way when new people join a sport lol

      @@Achilles053 ​ OP isn’t necessarily wrong though, you can see Norris kinda snap the wheel back because of that reason, same thing with Maldonado/Verstappen in Austria 2015. It’s super minor in this case so it’s a bit exaggerated tbf, but it’s not entirely wrong. And he didn’t say it was a dangerous move at all. Also has nothing to do with being a new fan

      bro was pressed bc he lost the optimal racing line in the first 2 corners after defending from Norris at the end of the straight. after that, the overtake was inevitable unless LeClerc maybe also had DRS (but i doubt it bc Norris had better entry speed)

    To have a big top speed like that, we have always to have a drs train, with the car ahead with drs and the other just behind with drs as well and it works with every car, and lando was so close in the turn 1 to make the remake of the schumi's overtake on kimi in 2006 if he had braked late like michael did, and it would have been the revenge of mclaren to ferrari for that move.

      Hey, not sure if you know that already but for the next cycle of engine rules they will make changes to the engine/exhaust so that we get a lot more RAW sound.
      I'm not sure if they stated in which direction it will go (V10 would be neat lol) but yeah, maybe in the future the engine noise will be louder and different in pitch.

      it was the 5th year and final year of that generation of aero rules. Unsurprisingly, it is faster. Give this new generation aero a bit more time and it will be close to the last gen cars.

    It shows how draggy modern F1 cars are post 2017, here with a tow it goes faster than MotoGP bikes also with a tow at Silverstone, glad theyre narrowing the cars again for 2026.😊

    This just shows that V6 Turbo Hybrids are awfully slow even at straight lines compared to V10 N/A.
    Needs 1000+hp, DRS, ERS and 8 gears just to get that speed whilst the V10s only need 7 gears and 700-900hp and easily gets up to 370Km/h.

      V10 cars were much lighter which comes into it and the current cars tend to d rate at the end of the straight meaning no electric is being developed they also have 1-2 too many gears no need for the 8th or probably even 7th gear
