      I grew up around aircraft engine rebuild workshops which were spotlessly clean and everything in the right position for machining. But still engines would fail on occasion. Had I grown up in Pakistan and the like I would not know any different. Their truck motors are tough and do not seem to suffer breakdowns because of soil ingression. I notice they do wash components very well upon assembly. It’s a matter possibly of perspective. I also lived my childhood amidst primitive hill people of PNG who were horrified that we blew our nose into a piece of cloth then wrapped it up and carried it around all day inspecting and adding snot as we went along ....perspective.

I like the way the first bloke dressed up for the video, he was wearing his best vinyl crocodile skin Hush Puppy safety boots.

      I also feel sorry, helpless and mad to see this, I love mechanical and want to work outside but same people who are in video are so harsh and non sense to dealt with.

    From a skilled western, world class, time served engineer’s point of view, it’s incredible to behold! I/we would say we can’t possibly work in these conditions....and yet they do! I can only imagine if the assembly is thoroughly washed out with appropriate solutions, the finished item probably works quite well!? Bravo, I’d say! The handsome man plough grinding the face dry!!! and breathing in the dust and fumes you could see clearly...won’t stay handsome much longer! Everyone comments about the floor , it's not just dirt it's a mixture of limestone an earth that's packed tightly an then oiled an has to dry for several days , it's almost like a soft concrete, you can sweep it an even mop it , if you have a large liquid spill of course you need to wipe it up quickly an when it drys it's hard again , it's not like working in your backyard on the ground , if you notice when they flip the parts around there's no chucks taken outta the floor an there's no dirt sticking to the parts on the guys hands , even with oil ab grease on his hands

    • @Engineer9736
      @Engineer9736 2 года назад

      Doesn’t matter what it is. A floor is dirty and especially one with such inconsistent surface which cannot be cleaned easily. There is no excuse not to order a workbench if they can afford such giant milling machine. The hardness of the floor + inconsistency also damages the machined surface when he tossed it down.

      Doesn't really matter in this case. Instead of using a 3 jawed valve seat puller, they pry the seats out, wrecking the interference fit between the seat counterbore and the valve seat. THEN they hammer in the seats, which fracture them. If you heat the head to 200 degrees and freeze the seats to zero degrees they literally will drop into place, no hammering needed. But...you need a source of heat, and a source of cold.

    19:43 The date is 9/11/2021. Did he purposefully cross the 2 number 1s, or lay one of the 1s over on its side in the number "11" like that? Is that because of the 9/11 attacks in the USA? Do they not like to write the date "9/11" as it is anymore because of what happened? I'm really curious.

      9/11 is the US date format that no-one else in the world uses. Everywhere else is day month year

      @@Spookieham What do you see when you look at that timestamp though? What else could it be? Serious question, not being sarcastic or trolling.
      Wikipedia says India uses Month/Day/Year "sometimes." They say the majority of English newspapers and media use Month/DD/YYYY like September 11, 2021. So it's definitely possible that this person lives in an area where MM/DD/YY is the format used.
      It looks like 9/11/2021 to me with the first 1 of 11 tilted over across the second 1. It can't be November 9th, 2021 because we aren't there yet on the day when the video was filmed and so it wouldn't make sense labeling that arbitrary future date on the head. This video was posted around a week ago today, so that also tends to support the idea that it means September 11th, 2021. The head work was completed and filmed on 9/11/21, it was stamped with that date, then the video was edited and uploaded a short while later. I don't really know. That's why I asked. It just looks so much like it says 9/11/21 with the 11 intentionally and purposefully messed up so that the 2 1s no longer stand upright in a correct number 11. From what I understand, most people in the Islamic and Middle Eastern worlds really hate that the 9/11 attacks happened because they were done by extremists and caused an age of war and anti-Muslim sentiment and stereotyping which can't be undone. Islam is a mostly peaceful religion but many Americans think it's bloodthirsty because of extremists. Perhaps the date is seen as unlucky, or undesirable or associated with destruction and loss, and people now don't want to put it on things that they own or sell or repair out of superstition? I'm not sure.

      In most countries in Europe they make a cross / slash line on their # 7 so it cannot be confused with the #1 . Maybe he didn't have a # 7 stamp so he did a #1 with a cross / slash ?
      Also they cross #0 so it's not confused with the letter O , an cross the letter Z so it cannot be confused with a #2

    ...and we wonder why they act the way they do. Fred and Barney were more civilized. Anyone who works squatting down in filthy clothing on a dirt floor to install valve seats on an old head, well we can see why they are not a NASCAR shop.
