I asked this in another of your video: do you know if the replacement base for the XSH08 base can be installed on the XSH06 saw, thereby converting the XSH06 saw to a track compatible saw? The base for the XSH08 is available as a replacement part.
im not 100% sure since i've never done the base replacement. BUT when i thought about the same thing after learning about the track compatible base, i thought it would work.
may I chime in, simple answer you can't.. I ive tried it. I jumped on that home depot deal and thought i could just order the track compatible base. i did order it for $60. tried and it didnt fit, the bevel adjustment is different on the tracksaw capable model. hope that helps, save your money and just get the one you need to run on a track. cheers
@@mydadstoolboxz so you tried swapping the entire base over is the bevel adjustment attached to the saw body or to the base itself There’s a 249$ deal on the xsh06 with a “free tool” at the Depot with 2 batteries and Dual charger included for a 60$ base swap would sound like a great idea
@@omarramirez2335 sounds like a great idea but its more complicated than just a simple swap, the bevel adjustment is different. its part of tue base and also oart of the saw, you can't just swap it,.. I actually gave up on it. Switched to Bosch and got their new Biturbo, track ready 7 1/4 circular saw. pretty happy with my choice, it does everything the makita can do, but with better dust collection, depth cut adjustments and variable speeds. also better batteries.
@@omarramirez2335 Needs Item# 63-100 (xsh08 parts list) not including 68/91/92 to do a complete base switch. Around $160 - $140 using 2-3 websites. + 1-2 months for shipping. Looking at the parts from xsh08 and xsh06, all the parts from Item#1-62 looks the same.
I just bought 2 of those. And I also bought the 40V kit which comes with the circular saw. What happened was I was going to return the 40 V kit, tools are too bulky to my liking. And bc I needed the tools and I was going to return the 40V kit, I went to eBay and bided on 2 XSH06 and ended winning the action on both. The next day, I checked and the seller on Amazon doesn't accept returns. Yes, now I ended with 3 almost identical saws. So, be aware that the seller CPO Outlet on Amazon won't take returns and may send you used/returned tools (yes, that was my case). And that there are tons of great deals on this XSH06 saw. I got mine for 90 bucks with shipping and tax on eBay. Locally I found it for 120 usd. The XSH08 model is hard to find and I only found it for 330 usd. So, there's a huge difference in price there. And the new 40 V circular saw and this one are almost identical like you said. The XGT is a bit lighter bc of the single battery, but the XSH06 feels a bit stronger probably bc both 5 amp 18V bat result in a 5 amp 36V.
I just got this saw from marketplace for 120$ brand new never use i very like it smooth powerfull but she should have come with a rafter hook from factory
Flawless review! Got all the info I needed. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Great video and I decided to buy this saw also. It will come in handy as well
Great to hear!

I almost went with a track compatible, BUT I am debating if I should go bigger like the 10-1/4 which it's also track compatible.

Exactly! Sounds like you got a great deal on those tools!

That looks like a 10" saw
You shouldn't use those sawblades they suck
agree with them not being the best, but my wallet doesn't like buying diablo blades for every saw test.
