    • @krombopulos_michael
      @krombopulos_michael Месяц назад +11

      It's not so much that. Deer in the headlights is that you are actually scared but the fear paralyses you and prevents you from doing something rational.
      This is more like a bias to convince yourself that everything is fine and normal. Most of your life things are just normal, so when something like a shooting happens, your brain tries to come up with an explanation for what's happening that isn't unusual.
      I had this happen to me recently. I saw two guys running across a busy street, near a bus stop at a train station, and one of them was carrying a box. I didn't even think about it, thought they were just in a hurry to catch a train or bus so they were trying to dodge some traffic running across the street. Only realised thinking about it after they had gone that the box was pretty unusual metal box with a lock on it and that I was pretty sure they had just robbed a Subway across the street, and then sure enough I saw a guy who worked there come out a minute later looking around on the phone to the cops.
      I felt guilty for not doing something to stop them, but I wasn't that I was scared that there were two possibly dangerous criminals running past me, I just didn't even cop that there was something I should have been scared of.

      @@TheMrplunk I've had that happen dozens of times. I was a supervisor at an automotive parts factory(NTN, we made driveshafts, cv joints, etc) for 10yrs & we'd have regular fire drills. Every time the alarm went off everyone just kept working & ignored it. I had to walk to each manufacturing line & tell them to shut it down & go to our designated area. Thankfully we never had any real fires bcuz nobody took that alarm seriously

      Also, people's reaction times are just so much slower than we often realize. I recently saw a video of a guy who put a piece of wood the wrong direction through a table saw. When the saw ripped the wood out of his hand and flung it across the room, you could pause the video and see that his face had no reaction whatsoever. A lot of our perception of events are reconstructing them after the fact.

      Well, beyond my "The Grand Conspiracy of the Space Aliens", which is my default label for any conspiracy theory, all of which are outlandish. And entirely have no space aliens involved, save when fancifully invoked for the purpose of hyperbole that even Helen Keller could see.
      In a way though, I am thankful that a minimal skill idiot used the least appropriate common weapon. As much as I may loathe Trump, that ain't how we select candidates and leaders.
      And the reality of it was, by the third shot, it was really over. By then, Trump figured out that wasp sting wasn't a wasp, Secret Service yelled for him to get down and for a change, he did what he was told to and agents had covered him with their bodies as they're supposed to do, buying time for the Secret Service snipers to neutralize the threat.

      "The US is dividing itself"... yeah, that's being directed. It's very obvious, too.
      Social media is extremely easy to use to cause division and it is used to drive either side to extreme ways of thinking.
      Both left and right commenters are becoming increasingly less tolerant and that eventually finds its way into the mind of someone that goes extreme, such as this shooter.
      Though the local PD admitting the SS told them that particular barn was "outside their perimeter" sounds insane to me and clearly should have had uniformed officers around, if not someone on it or AT LEAST drone coverage.
      Anyway. The US isn't just dividing itself, it has a LOT of help from outside/internal influence.

    One of the recurring ones I've seen on conservative pages is conspiracy that the Secret Service waited purposefully long enough for this to happen, citing the video of the 2 snipers behind the President, searching for a target - emphasis on searching. A quick look at videos of the team's placement and the location of the body, referenced against Maps overhead... it looks like they had a tree between them and the shooter.
    Also, their response to the shots. They pulled back initially. Anecdotal, but I'll persist... I was working a multi-building fire not long ago, just north of you, actually. A sizeable explosion went off. Those of us facing it did not flinch or turn away. We saw the threat and continued to engage. Most of those who were not engaged or had eyes on flinched or ducked. My thought is, as highly trained as they are, if those guys had eyes on the target and were ready to go, their reaction would have been minimal with immediate return. Moral: they didn't see him. They were blocked. Certain, no. What I'm thinking, yup. Watching the misinformation on this one is nauseating. Keep up the good work, brother.

    • @jasonjames4254
      @jasonjames4254 Месяц назад +4

      Sounds reasonable that the snipers view could have been blocked and that's why they didn't spot him on the roof and engage him before he fired. But what about spotters on the ground and inside the crowd. There are always agents in the crowd. Why didn't any of them see him when numerous people in the crowd did?

    • @Mike-be2zf
      @Mike-be2zf Месяц назад +3

      Also... I have 3 simple pics that show the potentially obstructed view. Not sure how to send them to you, although they're not complex or hard to figure for yourself when you take a second to look for it. I've seen Cappy and Mike Glover commenting on this, too. If I'm right, I hope the info gets out there for the sake of those agents on the roof.

      It is too early to rule out any possibility...but objectively speaking (and discarding statements that some people noticed the presence of the shooter and reported him) the initial response of the secret service seems unusually slow and in the middle of a shooting, allowing the "white" standing on stage to take photos sounds pretty strange

    • @Mike-be2zf
      @Mike-be2zf Месяц назад +4

      I wrote a response and it went away so I apologize if it reappears making this redundant.
      A few things: I think they did respond. The Secret Service is the lead but only one apart of the security detail which relies on other agencies. People were yelling they saw the shooter. Times were stated up to 3-4 minutes prior... remember perspective of time is skewed greatly is a situation like this. I'd imagine the shooter approached quickly, accessed quickly, and was planned. Heck, it took me 5 minutes to use Google Maps to research the site, compared vantage points, and make up a diagram to solidify my hypothesis give a few pictures.
      Next, it is my understanding that law enforcement responded, climbed the ladder, the shooter turned his gun toward the cop, he ducked back down the ladder, the shooting started. This would be backed up in my mind by the fact that both snipers were actively searching on that side prior to the shots but, again, couldn't see him. The quick response after showed they were close and engaged in searching out the situation. When it escalated, the ultimate response and attention were drawn, ending it fast.

    Hi Ryan. First off thank you sir for the information you pour into these videos. I have lived in butler PA my whole life 25 years. I was at the rally standing 10 rows back to the left of the stage facing Trump. (Near the red combine tractor). I can attest to the normalcy bias as most people near us did not even duck initially when the shots were fired either out of shock or simple ignorance to the muffled popping sound an AR15 makes when fired from that distance. Many veterans/LEO types around me were screaming at people to get down and those of us that recognized the gunfire for what it was were quick to hit the ground. Now as far as everyone standing, when DJT stood up there were cries of shooter down going on all around the crowd which I think is what kept full panic from breaking out. Everyone was still terrified (especially of a possible second shooter on exit) but thankfully everyone was able to get off the x safely. God bless sir and keep up the great work!

    I agree with what you said, but I'm not as inclined to dismiss "staged" claims out of hand. I doubt it was staged but some unanswered questions remain, for myself.
    Here's the main one: Before Secret Service got Trump off the stage, they can be heard communicating that "the shooter" is down. Now, apparently the public spotted the shooter before SS/LE. That is to say, the Secret Service didn't know shooter was on that rooftop, despite all the security planning and measures they HAD taken. Yet, both Trump and the SS detail behaved as if they didn't believe another shooter was even a possibility. A fist pump or two to show he's not gone is understandable...but he kept going to the point of striking poses. The Secret Service completely opened their protective ring for the campaign pic. This doesn't make sense, to me. If the shooter was there through a failure of security, why did they all believe there were no others? There was not
    time to confirm the venue was secure before getting into SUV.

    • @snekysnek8068
      @snekysnek8068 Месяц назад +6

      They didn't open the ring, at least not for the photo. The problem was the female agent towards the TV camera was simply too short to cover him, and the iconic low angle photo of him with the flag in the background was when they were climbing down the stairs, so the agent in front had to go down first, opening Trump from that angle. In that direction, though, was the vehicle plus a dozen USSS Counterassault officers and PA State Troopers, so there wasn't a huge risk from that angle.

    A lot of people blamed SS, a lot of people blamed the officer who engaged the shooter before he fired on President Trump, and a lot of people are calling this staged. For one, from the looks of things, there might have been a failure or lapse of judgement in the process of securing the area. That building should have either been occupied by security (probably local PD or SS) or access should have been denied to that area. However, this potential lapse of judgement should not diminish the brave efforts of the law enforcement on scene during this incident. They engaged the shooter, protected Mr. Trump, and did not run, they stood their ground and acted with discipline and professionalism. SS tactical officers actually surveyed for threats elsewhere which shows just how disciplined these guys are; instead of getting tunnel vision in the area where the shots came from, they scanned for threats all around Mr. Trump. And for those blaming the police officer who allegedly investigated the shooter, after being flagged down by attendees, are idiots. The officer seemingly climbed the ladder and was met by the suspect aiming his rifle at the officer. The officer then reportedly retreated to cover and, likely, went to call it in when the shooter took those shots. If this is to be believed and this chain of events did occur it seems highly unlikely that the officer could be at fault as his reaction seems totally justified. And for those calling this staged… who staged it? Trump’s campaign?? As if they’d risk killing the president and that information going public. And Trump clearly had no idea that was going to happen. Yall forget the fact that him turning his head saved him, and no marksman is to be trusted to make a shot so precise as to barely miss that way. This was NOT staged.
