I was in Berlin Germany from 1976 to 1979 and I was an American Infantry soldier. We had to perform guard duty at US Embassy numerous times against the same terrorist group this video is talking about. We carried a 1911 handgun in 45 ACP. We never had a chance if the terrorists came because we were not allowed to carry a live round in chamber. We carried a full magazine but not allowed to put one on chamber. The time it would take to rack the slide the terrorists would have already shot you by than. Only time I was allowed to lock and load when I was performing guard duty at Spandau prison in Berlin during Hitler's birthday. I was walking the small guard tower perimeter and we were told to lock and load are m16a1 because they were affraid someone would try to break in prison to free Rudolf Hess, he was the last prisoner in the prison. Israel has the best combat soldiers in the world/why? Nothing beats hand on experience and no one has more combat experience than Israel.
I have seen other Entebbe rescue films & videos since 1975 (‘76?). This documentary is the best as it exposed unknown & key details about the raid. I have ever been in awe for such daring, efficient and heroic operation by the Israeli military. Sad though for Commander Yoni, great commando leader. For the nth time, congrats Israel!!!
I'm chuckling here. If you were paying attention to the movies, you'd know that the event was in 1976. The rescue, itself, took place on July 4 - which was the day that America celebrated 200 years of existence.
I was in college on a full scholarship at the time. Each year I had to meet with a finance officer in order to review my scholarship for the following year. What I remember most is that he was incredibly elated and gave me a high five and a big hug before approving my scholarship for the next year!

Wow, what an awesome amazing story, it gave me goosebumps because they had everything to lose and everything against them and showed the world what can happen when a determined group of soldiers put a plan together with every soldier’s opinion involved and just make it happen. When you talk about men who just do it and men who talk about doing it there is no comparison, these guys needed a bowling ball bag to carry the set of balls they had. I had heard about the story and the movie but nothing can be better then hearing the true bravery come from the mouths of the men who did it. I love when good destroys evil. To many times we hear how much evil is in this world and it’s depressing and sickening but I still have faith in goodness and good people and I believe that we can overcome these plagues of evil doers but we must believe and we must stick together. I salute all the men who were involved in this amazing operation especially the ones who gave their lives so their citizens could be free and of course the men who brought the hostages back home. Hey Peter, you must love genocide to since you love Isreal. Have any idea what's going on in Gaza and western bank. Freeing those hostages was good.
Bless you
I remember this action, to this day it is still wonderful ❤
We have a lot of experience too
I read that the US Marines in Beirut weren't allowed to have the magazines in their M16', because it would've looked aggressive.
@@MondoBeno That's absolutely correct - no rounds in the chamber. October 23, 1983 was a really bad day for the USMC. 243 dead.
Good post, thank you :-)
I have seen other Entebbe rescue films & videos since 1975 (‘76?). This documentary is the best as it exposed unknown & key details about the raid. I have ever been in awe for such daring, efficient and heroic operation by the Israeli military. Sad though for Commander Yoni, great commando leader. For the nth time, congrats Israel!!!
There was an Israeli movie which was extremely accurate I can't remember it's name tho

Raid on Entebbe, it must be
I'm chuckling here. If you were paying attention to the movies, you'd know that the event was in 1976. The rescue, itself, took place on July 4 - which was the day that America celebrated 200 years of existence.
@@yonatanbehar3322 operation thunder bolt
I was in college on a full scholarship at the time. Each year I had to meet with a finance officer in order to review my scholarship for the following year. My finance evaluator was Jewish and for some reason he believed that I was too. The successful raid on Entebbe had just taken place. What I remember most is that he was incredibly elated and gave me a high five and a big hug before approving my scholarship for the next year!
Damn you must be old!!
If you’re lucky you get to make “old bones”. I was 20 when this happened and I remember the elation when it became news.
The families of the hostages were going crazy, just like the families of the Gaza hostages are. now.
This documentary is very, very well done.
I love being an Israeli soldier
God bless Israel
God bless you for protecting Israel
Make love, NOT war.
Am Australian and have meet a few Israelis who came here to get out of serving with the IDF. Never gave much time to any of them.
God bless Israel!
@@stuartmcpherson1921 , I worked with an Israeli doctor in Australia . She had completed her military service . Along with several other Israeli doctors . They were professional and dedicated .
Amazing ! Really the best way to counter terrorists.

Courage is doing the right things despite over powering odds and fear! Professional with the Strengths of Faith protecting the innocent. Well done my unknown friends...well done and God Bless!
courage by it self is insufficient professional well trained
Heard this story in awe as a child, am still admiring the amazing rescue team of Israel.God bless Israel.
I can imagine what it was like for the hostages. They would talk of a real miracle in less than twenty minutes. Wow!
Absolutely Bad Asses. Under fire and stress with fear these men overcame this. Wow what a mission. Congrats and sorry for their loss.
It’s an amazing and extremely dangerous rescue operation in the history of the nation of Israel, and they succeeded. it’s very well documented.
I’ve seen this documentary over 50 times since last year and still wants to watch it again and again
If they had killed the dictator many Ugandans would have been savt
These men are amazing men . They are exceptional !
You have a beautiful story for your children and your grandchildren to tell until the end of time because what you accomplished will never be forgotten and can never be taken away. God bless you all and I wish you peace always !
I'm unto this day mesmerized what those soldiers hav achieved.
The heroic commander who lost his life Netanyahu is Israeli Prime Minister's brother
It was Prime Minister's Bee Bee's brother that died in the rescue. The only one that didn't make it. God bless him.
The pilot when he arrived home and spoke with his father . His father had lost his family in the holocaust, he was so proud of his son. You fought back he said .
An incredibly brave people the Israelis .
Fantastic story - yet it is all true. Amazing men, wonderful patriots.
It was a wonderful and an absolutely courageous achievement. Well done.
The greatest rescue operation of all time!
I am on the side of Israel. Saw the film on Entebbe years ago. Magnificent operation. God bless Israel and her people.
Am a Ugandan. It is our country that had been raided but believe you me, Ugandans had never known such joy when they learnt of the operation.
Thanks for not being on the side of terorists lol🤷🏽♂️

Killers pretending to be Angles bhahah ..Hell are waiting Israelhell
Fantastic documentary. Hats off to the commandos who did a brave and excellent job.
Thank you, sacrifices are worthy .My deepest gratitude for the unmeasurable dedication.
I'm from Uganda and at that time I was not yet born. But our parents told us how horrible Amin was.He killed a lot of people in my Country.

Rivers of blood flowed freely in Uganda during Amin's rule.
This makes me so happy and full of more admiration for these great people .... I love Israel so much 🇮🇱 ... love & Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 ✌🏼🌟 ❤
I remember the day we got word of the rescue. I am proud of the Israeli and it was a great day to be in Yosemite National Park on that day so long time ago.
I was a teen at that time, and had gone to Jewish Summer Camp [ although I was/am not Jewish ]. - I was into listening to Short Wave radio, so I kept up on the news from many sources, BBC, Radio Deutchewelle, Kol Israel, even Radio Moscow, and others.
I watched on TV as well.
It was really something.
[ I also have the ( original - made-for-TV ) movie, which is really great - but this Documentary really puts it into perspective].

The man was impossibly smart to lock down the base! Awesome move!!! I remember this. The men were heroes!
Oh ,My God ...YOU DID RIGHT SIR.!!!.YOU REPRESENT WHAT ISRAEL 🇮🇱 IS ALL ABOUT. A NATION OF THE VERY BRAVE.!!!
I respect and admire the soldiers who risk their lives to rescue innocent people.
This is the best documentary I have ever seen on RUclips, and it’s a high level nail biter. Do not watch this if you need to go to sleep.
The Israeli rescue team soldiers were not wearing any bullet proof vests,
they put their lives one foot to the grave and a foot to rescue the
hostages in Entebbe... I always have a tear to the
fallen soldier/leader Yoni Netanyahu.
It is well known in the military's of the world that Israeli soldiers love their country and their fellow citizens above their own lives . Salute to Israels soldiers ! And long live Israel !

Till this day the Israeli army don't wear a bullet proof vest in the battle field it's because they know a lot of secrets and if you get hit rather die or get rescued than get caught and spill all the beans to the enemy. God bless Israel 🇮🇱 🙏 ❤️

The Israelis... I salute you guys for such marvellous rescue operation. I akways respect you guys because of your sharpness, intelligence anf ability.
I got emotional at the moment that the commandos reached the airport where the hostages are and burst of fires started. The thought of the hostages being freed and rescued got into me emotionally.
I like how the Israeli commandos were very honest in talking about their fear. They didn't act like they were fearless cowboys.
This is the real thing, not some Hollywood movies.
