Within 150W of power, 31k score looks pretty good imo. How about gaming however? Since in some games, it can also draw up to 150W of power in stock settings.
I notice that limiting the watts affects the temperature dramatically, however most undervolting guides dont touch the power limits and only change the voltages&clocks. Its all too confusing im not sure what is the most safe strategy, ill just leave it at intel defaults i only needed it to stop crashing my pc.
A Z790 board with a PS/2 keyboard/mouse connector? That thing looks so out of place on that I/O-panel.. :D Other than using 253 PL1 and 270 PL2 and a 360A current limit, I reduced the auto VCore offset feature on my board ("CPU Lite Load") by quite a bit, dropping my 14700KF's VIDs from ~1.45V stock (yikes!) to ~1.35V. Power draw went from over 300W with "unrestricted" settings to 220 to 250W in Cinebench 2024 - heat also became much more manageable (high 80°Cs max instead of hitting 100°C on some cores - both at ~21°C room temp and with a 240mm AiO). But it's good to see that I could probably go a lot lower with the voltage without risking instability or losing any significant performance. It's not that the PC is now drawing crazy power in real world workloads, but a little less heat and power consumption are nice to have. I think with my current settings it's eating around 50 to 70 W in BG3, Act III at 1440p and Ultra details. IL-2 VR is about the same (~75W tops). The funny bit is that in BG3 at least, the system draws about the same overall power. It's just that while the 14700KF draws about 20W more than my old 12600K in that game, the same GPU will now draw around 20W less than before. Guess I'm a little less CPU-bottle-necked now.. :)
Very like your test! I just bought the same motherboard ASRock Z790 PRO RS D4 and 14700kf. I tried the setting like yours, but i only get 15000pt or so. And my cpuz says there is only 6p core and 12 threads. Why,,....? Is there anything i should do in the BIOS?

Asrock lets you only go -0.1v in offset mode because it is called stable mode. You can switch to overclock mode that let's you get down to -0.5 v. Or you can set offset through the Fivr settings wich is pretty much the same thing that let's you go down to -0.5 v aswell
How do you get these low temps? I undervolted all cores -150 mV and with big open case and Noctua ND-D15 it reaches 99-100'C, thorttling. Ambient temp is 23'C
High clock speed is maintained in most environments that do not exceed PL1/2. If you want to maintain the clock even under high load conditions, there are ways to increase the PL1/2 level and to raise the clock within the PL1/2 via UV.
@@DalraeMyo AVX Auto = -500mhz and when I go there where you say and disable it then it will get unstable. Wont load some games, they will crash on startup. Is there something else that has to be set in order for it to be stable ?
@@DalraeMyo I've been overriding it with Intel Extreme Utility AVX 0 with AVX in bios set to 1 and can't find other solution. Game which won't even boot with AVX disabled in bios is Spiderman Miles Morales. Just leaving this comment for anyone with similar issue.

I performed the BIOS update from the service center and received it. There is no separate flashback function, so the service center must take action for BIOS update.@@equisDeep
If the monitor is not working, check the installation of the graphics card. (Make sure the cable is properly plugged into the auxiliary power source and the rear display terminal of the graphics card.)

There was no difference between default setting and frame rate in most games, except for some games that required high CPU computation.

Try using a contact frame between cpu and heatsink to get a more secure fit. Also evenly spread thermal paste for better contact.

You are lucky that motherboard just worked out of box. It needs bios update to work with 14th gen.

Do you need to update bios first? If so do you need an older 13th or any older cpu to update the bios?
Since it does not support the FLASHBACK function, I understand that you need to update the BIOS in advance.
OCD3D said this chip would run at -0.200 volt and be totally stable (YMMV), but I think ASROCK only lets you drop max -0.1v on the Vcore offset.

Separately, there are many reviews that NH-D15 has a poor correlation with the CPU using the LGA1700 socket.

Why my 14700k only scores 15708 😔 (lite load mode 5 on msi b760m mortar max) does mobo affect the scores?
There are occasional exceptions, but by default, the B chipset motherboard does not function properly with Undervoltage.

If you enter the CPU related item menu in the BIOS, you will find the AVX activation/deactivation menu.

Unless you disable AVX commands for special purposes, setting them to Auto is good for system safety.@@club4ghz

The same can be applied. However, UV values are different for each CPU, so if they are not stable, we need to change the values.
