- The brilliance of Edgar Allen Poe's poem "A Dream Within A Dream" is nearly reached with Bill Holland's ART Proverb demo -- "A Room Reverb Within A Room Reverb." Bill turns on the Proverb and cycles through the patch banks for examples of all flavors of reverb, from the subtle touch to the ultra-saturated and delay-laden settings.
Many years ago I used this unit in my bass rig with an SWR 350 head through two Peavey 15" and 2 x 10" cabinets. Helped to produce a huge sound especially in lower volume situations... I wish I still had this little unit.
I primarily used the gate effects and depending on songs would also use the chorus effects. You wouldn't think this unit would be compatible with a bass rig but it worked well for me... Remember, this was probably mid to late eighties. Not a lot of bass specific bass effect units out in those days like today... And no, noise was never an issue.
Your demo here is spot on. I have owned many rack units over the years, but for simple application, I always seem to come back to this one for some things.
Great old unit. I have had it for years..I have used it mostly with stand alone multi-track recorders.. I sill use it on my Tascam-DP-24 as an external processor.
I have one of these. It's my second one. I use it for live vocals in the studio. It's a pretty simple unit and all things considered it's a nice quick fix for giving the vocalist some ambiance. i love it!
Not much stereo
Late to the party but the noise floor you refer to as the wet signal is brought up is possibly caused by some leaking capacitors in the circuit. I plan to open mine up and just replace them all. And to remove the internal transformer to outside of the case. I do agree that still this vintage unit is more relegated to a live application or just as a dedicated monitor only for studio vocals tracking, ha saving the good Lexicon processor ( I know I'm old ) for mix and the wow factor for your clients.
Cool thank you for the post
I just pick one up in a Pawn shop for about $30.I guess it will stick around for some live work or shooting for that 80s sound
Thinking of picking one up just for the Reverse Effect in my guitar rig... I'm sure there are better reverse pedals but I think it'll work best with just a touch of reverse and I can get this one cheap lol
great in dept video... thanks man
Just got one for adding some reverb in the singer's monitor mix. Does the job pretty good for the price.
Phil Collins wants his drum fated reverb back. Or was it John Carpenter for his horror movie soumd fx? 😂👍
This is a copy of the midiverb 2
I recently came across in this in a store for $100 bucks ;(
