Glorified scrimmage? Close? Arkansas intentionally didn't score a final TD when they were driving on the ground at will at the end. 1st and 10 on the Tech 12 and Arkansas just let the clock run out. What a wonderful collection of sour grapes and rationalizing. GOD!
I mean, this definitely wasn't a full strength Arkansas team. Arky definitely could have scored again no doubt! But the game was much closer than the score indicated if you look at success rate, EPA/play, other items. Arkansas undoubtedly deserved to win, but the game was closer than the score indicated.
They're saying it's a scrimmage because so many people were missing. You can't expect to beat a bigger badder team with deeper pockets so easily. Of course losing the game is gonna be met with a shrug. You can't be surprised if the car you sent out with three wheels and no oil crashes midrace.
Agree with Conrad. The culture McGuire has created is real. If you heard Caleb Rogers post game comments you can see the “culture.” As for TCU game and the bowl game, take away those huge chunk plays and you have a different result in both games. We can’t give up those big plays next year. I envision a much improved defense under Coach Wood next year.
Razorback fan here: Excellent podcast, guys! I really liked the way Hammond navigated TT’s offense, except for the 2 int’s of course. Dude is a flat out baller! RB’s Wiiliams and Dickey are outstanding backs. Douglas is one heck of a receiver too. On defense, Baskerville and Rodriguez are absolute studs. #9 and #10 were all over the field making plays. I really think both Arkansas and TT are on the rise and will have really nice seasons in ‘25. As far as the stomping of Baskerville by Carmona, that is completely unacceptable behavior. No place for that, period! Hope Baskerville is ok! Carmona is genuinely a nice guy off the field! However, his apology should have been 100% directed towards Baskerville. Hopefully, he has at least some “in house discipline” from Pittman or the NCAA! Again, your podcast has great commentary and analysis!
We appreciate you listening! Congrats on a great season and hopefully we can see you guys in the NCAA tournament. Calipari wearing red is still jarring to me, but should be a fun season in an absolutely loaded SEC
Yes sir, appreciate it! I agree, it is still odd seeing Cal in Cardinal Red, instead of UK blue. College basketball is gonna be really exciting this year with so many good teams in the SEC. It gets real Saturday, when the Hogs take on #1 Tennessee to open conference play. Good luck to TT in both basketball and baseball this year!
I'll just say this. I'm excited about the regular season to come. But the way things are going they had best write in bowl obligations into the NIL contracts If we make the college football playoffs. Because it was hard to care about that liberty bowl when Brooks and Kelly did not. I get it that elite athletes are concerned about their future NFL careers but the fans are concerned about the colleges in the here and now. This thing has got to get fixed, Or lesser bowl games will be glorified spring practices. And that's going to be a tough sell on fans to pay thousands of dollars and travel hundreds of miles.
that's where everyone keeps messing up and looking foolish. Being surprised by Arkansas. Nobody clearly watched any of their games. One bad loss to Ole Miss and Ok St in week 2.
Barring some impressive work by the players and the new coordinators I expect a similar season next year too. That said, praying the D line and O line can show improvement and more importantly stay healthy. If that happens we can absolutely have a better team. Whether that leads to more wins - not sure about that. I will say very proud of our team to put up an 8 win season with how brutal it was to watch at times. They do fight.
Oklahoma finished 6-6 in the SEC just like Arkansas. Not really that surprising. You know Texas Tech has less talent than both places most of the time. Arkansas is 30-8 against Texas Tech all time. It has always been a bigger, richer football program.
3 bowl game wins in a row is the TTU streak allegedly. So, in some twisted world i guess it just wouldnt be right to beat to beat that. Further more, maguire has turned this team around for the better, even if this season was super sloppy. I just wish he'd chill out with the hype videos.
Need to hold onto double digit leads in games. Need to learn how to adjust to what the other team is doing to you. Need to play “complimentary” football. It was a most unsatisfactory 8-5 record.

Great show fellas

Pretty well reasoned take!

Any lesser bowl we would have been playing in a plate. Sick of the loser bracket bowls
It's gonna happen. Saw a bunch of good things in the bowl game from the young players. McGuire is the guy!
Yes it is! The future looks bright! Thanks for listening.

It will be interesting to see how the transfers coming in perform with Coach Woods new scheme. Health will be a key factor in the success next season!

I haven't seen anything about Micah Hudson being one of Pat Mahomes' endorsees. Did he officially lose his deal with Mahomes when he left?
He lost his NIL deal with Tech and isn’t going to be represented under the Mahomes brand either!

Agreed. It is time to take the next step!
Get Conrad’s big non-knowing ball head off the show
Jk he kinda knows ball
LOL
Quit being homers. Hammond played really bad. He’s a freshman but he made a lot if bad decisions. Tell it like it is.
I thought he flashed, he looked better than our other true freshman QB we trotted out last year IMO
On the subject of the Arkansas player deal. Scumbag behavior usually means they're a scumbag. Believe people when they try to show you who they are.
100% agree. The armbar video against Ole Miss reminded everyone he has been doing this stuff for a while
Losing by 13 is not getting stomped
But we got stomped on (literally)
