I was going to do a b20 swap into my del sol and retain the b16a3 head that it already had. I accumulated a bunch of parts after my second deployment to Afghanistan but before I could do the work my car was stolen. I have sold some stuff as I am now trying to k swap a crx for a daily driver. I still have a b20/vtec head gasket and oil line kit, skunk2 pro cams, aem adjustable cam gears, valves, and a few other things. I also have the d16 that was in the crx, I broke a connecting rod but the head and transmission are fine. I should have the ecu somewhere as well. If anyone is interested I am in Caldwell Idaho if you want to take a look or can ship if you want to buy. Another good video, thank you Dana

He always Pointed me to your videos i never watched them until he passed i Couldn’t find comfort till i came across the videos remind me of him.. anyways not tryna be a baby or nothing man but just wanted to say thank you ! Seeing you do what you do reminds me of him and motivated me to finish his Honda del Sol 🌅
👍 junk yard parts.... where do people think all the rebuild stuff comes from. All those cores gotta come from somewhere. And it's not that creepy dude in the trench coat.lol My family operated a wrecking yard for 20 years plus. They call those people who buy them core buyers..lol then they ship them to a reman company. Then autozone buys them, and then charges you 5 times the amount plus a 100% mark up. Keep up the junkyard runs. Also side note you never gonna find jdm goodies at autozone.
@@oldskool1979 from the factory. Crx’s didn’t come that low brotha. They will try not to pay by saying it is modified. I’ve been there and I’ve done that
@@oldskool1979 There is a difference in a car that comes low from the factory and a car that you put coil overs on and lower yourself. That is what they’re going to say is the reason he damaged the oil pan
You're right dog you don't even need to explain me and all the real OG's already know the passion you have and put into these cars stay humble progress is better than no progress💪😁
Junkyard parts are OEM parts anyway for the most part. I just installed a new transmission in my project car. Only has 40,000 miles for $280. Shifts really nice now. Better than the original transmission.
Bro Static that’s the pick n pull up in my area in Newark Ca. That same CRV I was taking parts out of. I took the roof rack/ front mud guards and was hoping the clear side reflectors was still there but it was already gone.
Most junkyard parts are oem parts. People love to hate. I dont know how many amazing parts I've gotten from my own junkyard runs. You just had some unfortunate events that all began with that gnarly bump on the i5. Love your content bro 👍🏼
no need to explain yourself to those people who are saying all that stuff. If they don't follow the whole build and do it themselves as well, they would never know. keep doing what you do bro and as always great content. people can be so dumb and selfish when they never done it themselves or never take the extra steps like you to check it out before purchasing from a junkyard. Great job brother
Yo how much $ does it take to do that refresh on the b20z ??? I’ve always been curious if refreshing my head and block is comparable in price to getting a b20b jdm motor??? Love the content!!!
I noticed California junkyards are more strict, I live in sc Pennsylvania and go to junkyards around here and in Maryland and you can take engine with everything for a set price of what the engine costs
It's how the engine what mounted with the mounts either can go up higher = not much room for hood clearance. Go with the lower mount itll clear the hood but... will sit lower and not much ground clearance + shitty roads in cali = no way of avoiding the damage to the oil pan. If dana rebuilt the motor it counts as a fresh rebuild.
I had the same issue with my oil pan on my k on a EG it would stick out too much from the bottom of the car I had to raise it up and even then it would some times scrape lol and the alternator you Shoudmessage k tuned n have them re fund you or have them develop a new part so it don’t fail anymore that’s not fair you pay such high price fro such a cheap development in their products
People don't realize if you buy auto parts like alternator, brakes calipers, and other parts that are refurbished is the same as getting parts at junkyard and refurbished it. There are certain parts you buy not from junkyard but when it comes to oem parts I rather get from junkyard then from the dealership. If junkyard parts is crappie then why so many people go to junkyard. Keep it up. Do what works for you.
Keep up the good content. I was actually out in Hayward a couple weeks ago visiting family from AZ and went out to that same yard assuming it's on Maury Ave. I was able to pick up parts for my 93 Accord. Most yards in Phoenix are picked through for these accords. The cashier lady didn't even know what exhaust tips and wheel center caps were. Paid more than expected but I had no choice.
first time I let someone borrow a 12 mill socket at the junk yard....they walked off with the 12 mill and the ratchet too.....never doing that again...
Yo broda, stumbled onto your channel and like everything about it. Noticed that you're out of No Cal. I live in So Cal and have a 1988 CRX, 1990 "Wagovan", 2006 Civic Coupe, 2013 Civic Coupe (never liked Hondas until I bought the Wagovan). It all went down from there. Been having issues with the CRX turning off and check engine light . Do you know of any good places that I can take it to get diagnosed?
@youngstatic you might want to remove some of the info you posted below so people dont find out where you live. Took 2 min and could cause problems if someone doesnt like you. Just a heads up
I've never had issues with junkyard parts, they lasted me & no complaints.... only complaints is the cashiers tryna charge you for stuff that is non existent on what you pull!!!!
Bro don't sweat the haters they're talking shit out of jealousy. And to anyone saying otherwise lets say you take your car to a shop. Where do you think they get parts from? If it's new it's coming from either napa, autozone, oreilies, etc. But if it's a used part, like an engine or trannie or suspension part? B&r, lkq, all that, are still wrecking yards just not a self service yard.
Hey brother were do you send off your motors to get refreshed please tell me I'm looking into getting my h22 refreshed notting is wrong motor still runs great just has a lot of miles
A few weeks ago i saw 2 good k24a2 and 1 bad one...but they were asking 700+for the engine..550 bare.i thought it was hi.unknow miles. Oh and i found me a manual crv cluster..dont own a honda but snagged it lol.

Charge the city for the damage to the oil pan.
He’ll get that money back just that itll take 6-12 months probably longer with “covid delays”
