The 2nd out of 5 blink-182 covers! Here's the second and last tune I'll be doing off the Enema of the State album for now! It's so hard to choose songs; I'd want to do them all, haha. Either way, always loved this tune and it brings me back again to when my brother and I were jamming blink songs in the basement. All of these tunes are such a big part of me getting so into the drumset and music in general.

Nice cover, and the blue finish is epic. But I noticed your SM57 capsule encasing seems bent or something, did you break the capsule encasing?
Thanks buddy! Yeah - good eye! I hit the microphone at some point during one of these blink songs, so the capsule is half way off. It stays in it's new place however and doesn't affect the sound much at all - so I'll still use it but probably for the resonant side of the snare from now on!

Hmm.. I'd say either just endurance of keeping the right hand going - it's easy to burn it out! haha. Or getting enough power in the fast snare-rack-snare-rack-floor fill in the choruses.

@@maxadrums thanks, I think it is. It’s mostly the fill at the end of the verses the pre chorus, like the “don’t forget to” or the “ditch my lecture” where I needed to see what is actually happening. Everything else is not too bad with practice.

Aprecciate your attention to requests on the comments. Nice work! Also I would suggest you to always provide the transcriptions for your covers, as that would differenciate your channel from others and would encourage people to learn the songs, even though learning them by yourself could also help. Also, I like that you make an iddentical coppy of the drummers parts on your covers, but sometimes you can free yourself a bit, it would be nice to see you improvising

I'd love to do transcriptions for all of the songs I cover, however it is currently a tricky thing to fit into the schedule of things. It does take a few hours to get it down, make sure everything is right, and especially making sure it's presented in a good way. But it's something I'm planning on doing once I've got my own studio installed!
As I'm focusing on education, I prefer sticking as close to the original parts as possible. Both out of educational purposes, but also respect! I'd love to do some more improvisation in the future, again once I've got my own place running, where I can take playalongs and drumless tracks to do my own stuff. But for songs where the original drums are still a part of the track, I will do my best to cover it note for note!

Hey, thanks Abby! The ride is the A Sweet Ride 21" by Zildjian, which is basically Travis' standard ride. That's why it fits in quite perfectly, haha!
