This is the best comment. People think "Power levels" when it comes to comic characters, but slapping power levels on the Endless is the worst you can do to describe them, they're not some superhero team that saves the day neither are they villains. They just are. Metaphysical concepts that govern and drive the universe. Sandman is not a zap-fest to determine who is the strongest.
welp , it’s a good think that Dreams got a good relationship with Death . hopefully it’s better than the rest of the siblings bc i think it went without saying that she would be the strongest of the family . i wonder who would be there parents & if they have any kids 🤔💭
Tricky to really define them by power since they all embodie all-encompassing authoritative concepts. Each has influence and power that dwarfs the gods in thier universe, only bowing to literally embodiments of the CONCEPTS of creation and corruption.
Don't compare Mason Alexander to that pedo. they look absolutely nothing like James Charles and is actually a decent person. Not every vaguely feminine male looks like James Charles, they aren't even the same skin tone. Mason Alexander actually looks androgynous which is why they were chosen for the role as Desire
Because the author said it, at the end of the universe, Destiny will finish writing everything in his book and then he will wait for his sister to claim his soul, that is the last thing she has to do in this universe, she will close the door on the old universe
The Endless are strong from oldest to youngest. Destiny - no one can escape it not even the Presence. Death- everything will come to an end one day. Dream- without it there is no reality. Destruction- everything built will always be destroyed as in physical or not. Desire- everything that lives, breaths, eats, has desire, it’s a thing of the moment. Despair- the opposite of Desire and the outcome of desire. Delirium- every living thing with a desire always has change in mind.
U forgot Destiny. And for those of u who Say Destiny is the most powerful, he isn't actually. Its Death.. Delirium states that she knows more things none of the rest of the Endless knows, even Destiny in Sandman issue 21
Knowing doesn’t equal power. Fate knows everything that has been, is happening and will be. Doesn’t make them the most powerful entity in the Sandman Universe. Technically if we go by the lore presented to us - age = power in the Sandman. It goes eldest to youngest. Destiny is the eldest. At the end of time only death and destiny will remain - and if you give me the “death will end everything” line yes she will because it was her “Destiny.”
Death would have to be at the top of the list. She's more powerful than any other concept, that's an absolute. While we interact with all the Endless in one way or another on a daily basis... we meet Death just once. That goes for Every living being in the universe.
In terms of Power I think it was clear while daddy Dream hold onto desire said that he must be careful of Destiny and Death, so by that top 3 strongest are Death, Destiny and Dream and after that is Destruction and then Desire/Despair and Delirium.
Yes it was intentional but I can't remember why. Destiny is the only character Neil did not create but added to The Endless. My guess is since Destiny's name starts with a "D" the rest needed a "D" name also to link them as family
Most likely Delirium would actually be near the top. In terms of power, Gaiman himself has said they are "beyond" power. If anything the only real way to rank them is based on who gets to keep the power the longest until the inevitable end of all things. While Dream does threaten Desire indicating they are stronger at that moment, it's just that...at that moment. Sometimes one sibling dwarfs the other, and even Destiny and Death have admitted that Delirium knows more than the both of them. She knows of truths and powers that exist OUTSIDE of Destiny's book, and her vast insane level of knowledge even by the Endless standards makes it hard for her to remain serious, because it hurts her head to know that much. However, she has STRAIGHT UP cowed Destiny, standing up to him and letting him know that she isn't a child, and knows things that even he cannot see or comprehend. Destiny is bound by laws. Delirium is bound by nothing and no one, and it's why they all breathe a sigh of relief knowing Delirium chooses not to act on this power or knowledge. Death and Destiny may be the last ones to survive until the end (possibly) in the book, but that is more an indication of their "function". Death and Destiny aren't there at the end because they are stronger, but because that is their fate. Their function. The Endless aren't Thanos and Darkseid trying to become almighty...they are following their course of action and the purpose of their existence. Even Desire inevitably is fulfilling their purpose. The only wild card is Delirium, who can at any point alter it, which is what makes their parents very concerned.
The more I'm thinking about it why is death ranked so high, all she does is wait for people to die and take them away otherwise she has no influence on anything.
Not just people. All things living, even the divine/semi-divine. And she is an absolute. Tiny bit of wiggle room with the others (except maybe Destiny).
Death claims everyone, her realm encompasses everything to ever exist. That's why she's so powerful, she's the personification of the end that everything and everyone meets. The only Endless more powerful than her is her older brother Destiny and he is trapped by his own power unlike her who's free.
@@nicholaskhanyola989 It literally makes her into a Grim Reaper from The Sims.... I don't know how she's portrayed in the comics, but how are you gonna call her the most powerful when all she does all day is comfort dead people? Call her the most important/relevenat, but I didn't see power.

Idk how you can do those kinds or rankings if you have almost no information to compare the powers of the endless in regards to one another. Most we can infer is that desire and despair are weaker then dream

Sorry, my opinion: indifferent list. They all have the same potential and are linked by the same rules. If an Endless harms another Endless or a descendant, it can no longer be protected by other Endless and its current form can be destroyed. But an Endless is an anthropomorphic concept and can never really be "killed". It will take another host as a new incarnation.
People are mistaking power levels with actual application of power! Yes although destiny was first & is incredibly powerful, Some say that Destiny is the most powerful of all the Endless because everything and everyone has their destiny. However, the fact is, Destiny doesn’t act on almost anything, as he already knows what will happen and how it will happen. He doesn’t abuse his power but chooses to stay on the sidelines and observe as the history he already knows unravels before him. making death the most powerful!
1. You forgot Destiny. 2. You actually think desire is stronger than destruction... really.... 3. Desire and despair are twins, they were one that became two. They're on the same level power wise. 4. Delirium gets babied by the others but she is powerful. In the comics it's mentioned that she knows things that even destiny doesn't. THAT'S why she's Delirium. 5. Despair gained more power the past two centuries. In his journey to hell Dream remarks that the suicide groove has now grown to a massive forest. More people are falling into despair than ever before.
It's not about power too, the only ones that truly will exist until the end are death and destiny, they both exist outside the humanity and the needed of their younger siblings existence Also destruction is actually more powerful than dream, as well but until he ends the existence of the universe giving to death the last life to ending, he's "weaker" than desire, yes, since desire exist in everything even destruction (we can say desire is moving the universe together with dream)
This is based on the series alone so destiny is not ranked on account of him not showing up. Otherwise they’d be ranked by age. (No reason. It just so happens that the eldest are the strongest and the youngest are the weakest)
Each of the endless represents their aspect and the polar opposite. Destiny represents the submission to fate and the will to defy the expected outcome. Destiny has challenged what his book foretold and manages to change the outcome. He is one of the strongest of the Endless almost tied to Death in my opinion.
Destiny is the most powerful of all, because well, he is Destiny. But Delirium knows things outside Destiny's knowledge. In truth, it's not a matter of power, it's a matter of the realms that they govern.
But from what I read the dream is the most insane in power. Like he literally is basically immortal a being that can do and become anything. Most people from what I found agree with it. Death I think would be closer to 3
I’ll make it ease, it’s stated by Neil that the endless are stronger the older they are. So destiny, then death, then dream, then destruction, then desire, then despair, then delirium.
I think the one with most potential for power is delirium, however her chaotic and non focus mind is a paradox because it makes her potentially the most powerful and the most weakest at the same time.
the thing is, they don't fight. desire might be baiting, teasing, bothering Dream, but none of them fought real battles. they are powerful beings, but not all of them used their abilities to showcase their powers. death is the most powerful. followed by Destiny and then dream. powerscaling them can be quite pointless since there are no feats to prove it. the only one who can harm them is each other, but they dont do it since they care for each other (except for Desire's ill will against Dream). other being cannot casually find or attack them. they are Endless and superior among almost all beings.
Actually destruction is more powerful than dream, he'll need actually destroy the universe so Death can close it doors, so while dream is currently powerful, he need humanity to keep exist, a thing the destiny, death and destruction don't
So to evryone who says Destiny should be included in powerankings since his power is that of literal destiny....am I remembering something wrong or wasn't he restricted in such a way that he can't use his power against anybody not even himself and thous he is forced to be marely an observer in the lifes of all? Also yes death is the strongest that has been confirmed given that even destiny himself or any of his other siblings can escape her. They are called endless but they are not exept for maby death who at the end of it all will come for each of her siblings....at least I remember destiny saying that not even they can escape death.

@@contemporaryape it was the youngest actually, because it was more of a delirious revelation than existensial despair.
This is the best comment. People think "Power levels" when it comes to comic characters, but slapping power levels on the Endless is the worst you can do to describe them, they're not some superhero team that saves the day neither are they villains. They just are. Metaphysical concepts that govern and drive the universe. Sandman is not a zap-fest to determine who is the strongest.
welp , it’s a good think that Dreams got a good relationship with Death . hopefully it’s better than the rest of the siblings bc i think it went without saying that she would be the strongest of the family . i wonder who would be there parents & if they have any kids
🤔💭
Tricky to really define them by power since they all embodie all-encompassing authoritative concepts. Each has influence and power that dwarfs the gods in thier universe, only bowing to literally embodiments of the CONCEPTS of creation and corruption.
Destiny≥Delirium>Death>Dream>Desire>Despair
James charles who?
Ya dude desire looks like james charles
not every feminine man = James Charles
Don't compare Mason Alexander to that pedo. they look absolutely nothing like James Charles and is actually a decent person.
Not every vaguely feminine male looks like James Charles, they aren't even the same skin tone. Mason Alexander actually looks androgynous which is why they were chosen for the role as Desire
I love how Death is always #1 in every interpretation
She’s the supreme
Really hoping that Esmé Creed-Miles lives up to some of the visual depictions of Delirium that I've seen... 😇

@@gunnerblade thank you
U forgot Destiny.
@@3ambinges898 What about Pralaya?
Death would have to be at the top of the list.
She's more powerful than any other concept, that's an absolute.
While we interact with all the Endless in one way or another on a daily basis... we meet Death just once.
That goes for Every living being in the universe.
In terms of Power I think it was clear while daddy Dream hold onto desire said that he must be careful of Destiny and Death, so by that top 3 strongest are Death, Destiny and Dream and after that is Destruction and then Desire/Despair and Delirium.
Why do all their names start with a D? Is there a catch? I haven't read Neil's work, that's why I'm asking...
I don’t think Gaiman has actually ever stated why they all begin with D - my guess would be they are all family and sometimes families do that 🤷🏻♂️
D is supposed to be the middle initial but, someone used it 20 years ago and still in progress.
@FactoManiac yea it does!
Because they all got D in their tests.
Yes it was intentional but I can't remember why. Destiny is the only character Neil did not create but added to The Endless. My guess is since Destiny's name starts with a "D" the rest needed a "D" name also to link them as family
Well, why did you leave out Destiny, the oldest of the Endless?
Oh dear, how could you forget their dear brother Destiny?
I thought that was Margot Robbie on the thumbnail
I thought Neil said it was death who's most powerful
Desire and Despair are of equal power, they're twins, Despair itself is stronger than Delirium and Destruction.

-1: Father Time
desire is just female James Charles truly terrifying
It's not about power too, the only ones that truly will exist until the end are death and destiny, they both exist outside the humanity and the needed of their younger siblings existence
Also destruction is actually more powerful than dream, as well but until he ends the existence of the universe giving to death the last life to ending, he's "weaker" than desire, yes, since desire exist in everything even destruction (we can say desire is moving the universe together with dream)
Why do all of these interpretations of Desire (including the Netflix show) have them smiling WAY too much?!
This is based on the series alone so destiny is not ranked on account of him not showing up. Otherwise they’d be ranked by age. (No reason. It just so happens that the eldest are the strongest and the youngest are the weakest)
If your gonna talk about The Endless it’s better to have all the siblings present.
Each of the endless represents their aspect and the polar opposite. Destiny represents the submission to fate and the will to defy the expected outcome. Destiny has challenged what his book foretold and manages to change the outcome. He is one of the strongest of the Endless almost tied to Death in my opinion.
desire is literally so creepy ugh i feel zero desire looking at them.

Their designs are definitely indicative of the era they originated.
Death is so pretty in the comics
Destiny is the strongest endless
Destiny has left the chat 🗿
The three sisters are destiny is it?
Destiny is the most powerful of all, because well, he is Destiny. But Delirium knows things outside Destiny's knowledge. In truth, it's not a matter of power, it's a matter of the realms that they govern.
1. Death
2. Destiny
3. Dream
4. Desire
5. Destruction
6. Despair
7. Delirium
But from what I read the dream is the most insane in power. Like he literally is basically immortal a being that can do and become anything. Most people from what I found agree with it. Death I think would be closer to 3
A beautiful story
Destiny
Death
Dream
Destraction
Desire
Despair
Delirium/Delight
omg the "will of D"
I’ll make it ease, it’s stated by Neil that the endless are stronger the older they are. So destiny, then death, then dream, then destruction, then desire, then despair, then delirium.
Destiny is number 1.
Dream admits Lucifer is the most powerful being second from God before entering the gates of death
Dream and death only exist because of living things
I think the one with most potential for power is delirium, however her chaotic and non focus mind is a paradox because it makes her potentially the most powerful and the most weakest at the same time.
Aw, what about death in the show? She was perfect!
Let's be real. Delusion we really don't know... she plays nice but she could corrupt anything.
the thing is, they don't fight.
desire might be baiting, teasing, bothering Dream, but none of them fought real battles. they are powerful beings, but not all of them used their abilities to showcase their powers.
death is the most powerful. followed by Destiny and then dream.
powerscaling them can be quite pointless since there are no feats to prove it.
the only one who can harm them is each other, but they dont do it since they care for each other (except for Desire's ill will against Dream). other being cannot casually find or attack them.
they are Endless and superior among almost all beings.
The Desire here is SO much better than the weirdo on the show.
