Thanks for the detailed review, seems great for the price! These could also be great as interfaces for ESP32 or arduino IOT projects, I'll definitely try to grab a few ! One of them for sure will be put into a 3d printed T.V. shell and made into a retro console
Allwinner A133 - Quad-core 64-bit Cortex-A53. That should be able to run circles around PS1 games. It should be able to play some PSP games even, with the right emulator.
can you test it with a third part controller that cost below 20 dollars. That's a really good device for a little kid that's around 4 years old that wants to play 2-D games like Mario or Sonic.
It depends on how you want to do it. "Works with Google"? Yes. Custom scripts? Eh, I doubt it. Would make for a nice Google Home/Google Assistant display, if that's all you did with it. I think anything beyond that and it's punching well above its weight class.
Careful. I did that and got a tablet that I can't use because it's still registered to someone's google account so it wont let me pass the setup screen.
honestly just get the walmart onn branded tablets, they're surprisingly good, i think etaprime and some other people have videos showing them playing some pretty demanding mobile games and emulators (also they're supported better by services that have DRM like netflix)
Thanks for sharing! This thing is pretty low octane if it can't handle Playstation One games, but it seems just good enough for 16-bit arcade games. Having said that, I think my Fire tablet from 2019 (which cost me just ten dollars after a rebate!) is better suited for emulation. It's just a shame about that annoying operating system...
I used a few fire 10s - I think 2019 and 2021 - and they were quite nice, especially the 21 variant did well up to and including N64, PSP and DC. Last year I got the fire 11 max, which does the step and emulates PS2 rather well... most games will run at an 1,5x to 2x upscale, lots of heavier titles will do at least native resolution. Just played RE4 @ 1,25x upscale, it worked flawlessly, and things actually look very nice on that 11" screen. IMO that's not to bad for a device you can buy for 150 bucks, and that widely feared and despised OS does not harm the things I do with the tablet (watching YT, surfing the web and emulating some classics) in the slightest. The worst thimg that could happen is that you need to sideload an app, when the Amazon appstore doesn't offer it. 🤷
I wonder if anyone was good enough at soldering if they would maybe be able to upgrade the speaker. I think something like that would be pretty cool to see. However, I would probably want a second one just in case one gets ruined.
Great vid BDT, quick question. the Controller, did you try Re syncing it while in the Game itself? i had a BT Controller, that wouldn't do anything aside pair with a phone, until i booted the emulator, then re-synced it. As for the PSX emulation, 2d games would run better. Or try DuckStation Annnnddd... no, i Won't buy one of these.. i have a Modded PSVita and a Trimui Handheld But hey for 25 for cheap Emulation, not bad TBH. Keep up the great videos!
The A133P is in the Trimui Smart Pro and BRICK, decent cpus a bit older now, usually capable up to ps1 and some N64 like most handhelds. Is this just the A133? Try some standalone emulators for N64 instead of lemuroid. Even Retroarch might get better performance. Get it from their website not the version on the playstore.
Even my government android tablet can run better then that thing i can play nes snes sega genesis gameboy gamegear mame and even Dreamcast i don't recommend n64 emulators because its not going to work on low and mid-range devices
@@jodyjohnson265 Amazon fire hd7 from 2022 can play N64 emulation so don't count the low range devices out. The allwinner processor is a bottle neck on the 5 below mixed with android go.
I bought this for my niece for Christmas was looking for a review man I’m happy I found one
holy crap this is AWESOME- would love to pick this up for the fun of it LOL! cant belive it can run emulation!! ridge racer looked mad dope

I appreciate you very much for sharing your videos Im getting one of this tablets for retro gaming thanks again God Bless you And Your Family

What if you rooted and overclocked it though 👀👀👀
Never done that before but I’m interested in trying
I figured that could handle up to 16 bit but would start struggling with anything later.
Trash 90s look nope nope nope waste of money
Your GameSir 8 has an update. You just need the app. Then pair it to the phone that you have there app on yo update the controller
Thanks.
Just a heads up it can run 720P 60fps.
I think it could do PS1 emulation a lot better if you keep the resolution at 320x240
Bluetooth - Able, right? thanks for the Video
Yes
Would this be good to run a mixer through?
I’m not sure but your best bet is the 2024 7in onn Walmart tablet.
You should try Geforce now on the tablet.

How well do you think this would work for a cheap home automation setup.
the wifi is only 2.4ghz
@ Should that matter?
Not sure. I’ve never set up home automation before.

Looks like an RCA tablet of back in the day.
I can see each individual pixel lol.
I might prefer picking up a cheap used tablet from eBay
I see old iPad minis all day for super cheap I was thinking about it

@@batterypwrlowThats mostly buyer error. Do more research on the seller before you buy something from ebay 🤷♂️
Despite Apple opening up a little I would not buy an iPad with emulation in mind. You just have more and better options on Android.
Where do you find the games for the emthat that is safe?
Age old question. Whenever you find out tell me please
gba and sega 32x?
didn't try those. GBA should be OK. Not sure about 32x.
@basicdadtech 😁 hopefully we'll see a video with them
I still here Gridlee , no need
It's nice that things like this exist, but for anyone over age 10, just spend about $75 more and get something usable.
I wonder what's wrong with his hands to be wearing the OJ gloves.

I didn’t trying syncing while in game. I’ll give it a try.
@@basicdadtech Hope it works, may have been some fluke with the phone or controller.
Can it run doom?
Did you steal that out of the back of the headrest in my car?
LOL

I believe it’s just the A133.
I think you can make this tablet snappier and faster by flashing a costume rom made for low end phones.
does it support any low end generic android tablet? asking for basicdadtech
If you want mobile emulation please buy Samsung products. Especially eBay

Why you wear gloves
I'm wondering that myself. Especially with a touch screen device.
