i think they only changed most of the charater's looks in the show to make it more bright and cartoony

The style the game is made in is a pretty old and kindve hard one to master, so it was easier cost wise to do the show in a kinda different style
honestly the only characters designs adaptations that didn't change that much from the game to the series/Haven't changed in a way that bother are:
• The CupBros: They just made the shape/size of the heads of them be the same
• King Dice: Literally just made the clothes colors lighter
• The domino "couple": only changed the shape of the eyes and a little of lipstick (thanks @Titanruler1020 for noticing the lipstick xD)
• the bee cop (I honestly prefer the series design)
• The chubby purple demon: Just changed the colors of the gloves
And the devil a little
The eyelids changed also
They made Devil much slimmer and black
They made the devil looking dumb, the face seems, not right

Devil game had the evil vibe but in the show Devil feels like Squidward in some ways XD
I really like this video but there was one thing you missed so in cuphead the milatary rat well in the last phase of the boss the giant cat there are these ghost rats and you can see one of them at the same part with the same ghost with the eyeballs it is located at the bottom left kinda

I love all the subtle changes, while still keeping true to the original game designs
I honestly think it would've been cool if they kept the 20th century cartoony style for the show.

The game, I agree. But the show? Nahh man, the animation motion is really different. It's just modern animation with Cupheads world
Nah. 1930s animation has a lot thicker lineart. The show's lineart is very thin which was popularized by modern shows like adventure time. Personally i don't like it.
ngl I kinda prefer the yellowish pixelated tint since it makes the cartoon look more closer to an old 80's cartoon

I think the reason why she makes so many appearances in the show is to promote her being the new character to play as in the dlc as a way to market in my opinion that's kinda clever 😉
I have no idea why but the baby in the second episode,the way he just pouts his face and says "Mama" for some reason,it reminds me of the Devil,during the phase of which he is crying

Great vid but you missed one: Mangosteen, the 8-ball miniboss, is pictured on a tent when the devil is pretending to be a carnie to get Cuphead to remove an invisible sweater. Otherwise, great vid, because I didn't notice Cagney or Pip and Dot.

Look how long it took to animate the series, now imagine how long it would take to draw it just like the game. It would take decades, that's why the animation is not the same as the game.

For me people are just going too harsh with the show, it's pretty obvious that they're just world building and then it will get more like the game

Yeah, I expected the devil's voice to have more of an smokey, dark and scary voice. I don't know why Netflix couldn't have experimented actors and designs differently.

Sometimes simple is better when it comes to character design, and he was very memorable.
His red nose in the show is very distracting at times; it looks like a huge boil is on his face. I don’t see how that detail improved his look, but whatever I guess LOL

It would have taken years to make the cartoon like the game. It costs way too much time and money. We would've probably aged a lot by the time it's release if that happened.
