【Self introduction】
My name is Masa!! I’m 25 years old. I’m a Japanese. I love Sushi, NARUTO, watching movie, eating foods etc…
I love Sushi so much, so I think I want to eat Sushi everyday!! But, it’s difficult for me to go Sushi restaurants everyday..So I came up with a good idea!! If I can make Sushi at home, I can eat Sushi everyday!!
That’s why I begun to make Sushi at home😊
Thank you. Looking forward to trying this! Any recommendations regarding which rice cooker to purchase?
Thanks for your comment!!
Yeah!! Please give it a try🍣
Now I’m looking it up on Amazon, how about this rice cooker??
a.co/d/2Nv3kIu
This has quick cooking option and is made by Japanese brand, which is Zojirushi. Zojirushi is so popular and good reviews in Japan!! Actually, I always use another type of rice cooker made by Zojirushi😄 this is good!!
But I’m sorry that I don’t know other brands which make rice cooker much. So I recommend this!! I think if it has quick cooking option, it is ok for now!!
@@Sushi_Masa_Home_JP Thank you!
Very great, clear, and helpful instructions! Keep up the amazing content!
Thank you for your comment!!
I’m so glad to hear that:)))
I’ll continue to do my best!!
You have a very calming way of talking :) video was exactly what I wanted. Also out of curiosity, i was wondering what rice cooker you have? It looks super nice 😊
Thank you for watching and comment!!
I'm glad to hear that:)))
The rice cooker I use is a STAN from Zojirushi, which is a Japanese brand!!
Interesting! The shari I do at home is from one of my grandmother's book, from the 50's, more or less. It calls for a proportion of 1tbs of sugar each 2 and a half of vinegar, but only a pinch of salt. I might try this one adding more salt tot he mix!
Thank you for the comment & watcing!!
If you like sweeter Sushi rice, I think your grandma's recipe is great as well!😊
ok, so you have 220ml of water specified but "2 cups" of rice is very vague, cups have different sizes :D what is the gramature of rice for this amount of water? Another question is: can you get the same results without a rice cooker? if so how do you boil and handle it?
Thanks for your comment!!
Oh~I see...certainly, I think cups have different sizes in many country! I mean 2 cups of rice is about 300g.
Regarding another question, I'm sorry I have never try making rice without a rice cooker, so I’m not sure😭
Thanks for the video. Can you make an other video for people who dont have a rice cooker ?
Thank you for your comment!!
I have an another video and a short video where I introduce how to cook rice in a pot, so please check those out:)
Cooking rice in a pot can be tricky because the time varies depending on the shape of the pot, but it can definitely be done!
My problem is that the rice falls apart to quickly when eating
Thanks for your comment!!
Maybe you make Sushi rice and then eat it right away?
If the rice is too hot, I think the rice falls apart easily.
So I recommend using a fan to cool the sushi rice to body temperature.
Or I think your rice cooker has a keep warm mode, so it would be good to keep the Sushi rice warm for about an hour before eating it!
@@Sushi_Masa_Home_JP well actually I did the rice at room temp.🌡️ But the rice was so sticky I need to make my hands wet before making the Sushi. Maybe the water was bad for the rice.
Thank you for telling me. When making Nigiri sushi, you need to make your hands are wet!💧 I always do too!!
And, are you mixing the rice and Sushi vinegar too much? If you mix them too much, the rice will become sticky. So it might be good to mix them quickly!!
I think the most important element is that the quality of rice has to be exceptionally high.
Thanks for your comment!!
Yeah〜you have a point. There's nothing better than using good rice!
Yes, but a good technique will give excelent results, remember that this is for home cooking.
I bought a bottle of imported Japan vinegar also known as sushi seasoning (mizkan brand) years ago and it now colored turning to dark/black. I just keep at my kitchen all the while without refrigerated. Is it safe to use? Thanks Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thank you for comment!!!
According to Mizkan's official website, the black color is caused by a reaction between the sugars and amino acids contained in the product. This phenomenon can be seen not only in vinegar and sushi vinegar, but also mirin, miso, and soy sauce.
So It doesn't seem to be harmful to your body, but If it smells or tastes strange, I think it's probably best to buy a new one!!😅
@@Sushi_Masa_Home_JP It tastes sour and it totally smells vinegar
Then it might be Ok!!
Mizkan’s Sushi seasoning originally contains sugar and salt, so it's delicious, isn't it?😋
Appreciate your response, thank you ❤@@Sushi_Masa_Home_JP
Sushi rice nigiri. Lol. Just sushi rice as nigiri
Oh! Did I make a mistake somewhere!?😅
Thanks for telling me that!!
@Sushi_Masa_Home_JP you make no mistake masa. I just think it would be funny for a nigiri with just sushi rice lol
Oh!! I see😊
But actually, A Conveyor-sushi restaurant offers just Sushi rice as Nigiri!! 3 pieces of just Sushi rice on 1 plate is about 1 dollar🤣
Thank you , you made my day easier 😭🙏
Thanks for your comment!!
Oh〜!I’m glad to hear that 😊
Let’s enjoy making Sushi life together !!(^^)
@@Sushi_Masa_Home_JPyes 😊
Try adding some sake to your seasoning to make Sake Shari.
Thanks for your comment!!
Sake Shari!? I have never heard of this😮
🙂🙂👍
Thank you😊
Excellent because its simple and clear. Thanks
Thanks for your comment!!!
I am happy that you would say such a thing😉
After soaking for an hour, my rice cooker has a sushi setting could I select that or do you still recommend the quick cook?
Thanks for your comment!!
Oh!! You have a rice cooker with Sushi setting! Then I think you should try selecting that. But if you wanna make Sushi rice the same way as a Japanese Sushi restaurant, I think you should select the quick cook option!!
I think it will be delicious by both ways😋
@@Sushi_Masa_Home_JP Thank you, I will try both ways. Do you recommend changing the water that it soaks in when cooking rice in cooker?
Well, I think that's a matter of taste!!
In my case, I like Sushi rice a little harder, so I add 220g of water. Maybe there is a scale for sushi rice in the rice cooker, right?
If you put water according to that scale, I think the amount of water is more than 220g and Sushi rice will become soft!!
Your knowledge is impressive, thank you. Yes, the rice cooker does have a water limit. What is the longest sushi rice can soak without becoming mushy or to soft?
Thank you☺️
Well, I think adding water more than 300g will make the rice become soft and that's about the maximum amount to make vinegared rice🤔
