Girl you are a saint! I have been so stressed trying to figure out if I can get my PCE wrapped up by the end of the school year and if it was possible to complete in under a month. Thank you! ❤
Hi I am getting ready for my Preclinical Experiences, and was wondering if you could give some advice. Did you complete any hours using the videos in the PCE log, such as getting 25 hours from the additional experiences section or did you just document all hours in person? Did you plan the lesson you had to teach with the teacher? I’m doing the MATSPED and am a little nervous 😅Thank you for your help and congrats on your first teaching job! Looking forward to continue watching your journey.
Hi! I'm from California and did 42 hrs of observations, 11.5 hrs of teaching, 10 hrs of lesson planning, and 12 hrs of additional experiences. My teacher would guide me through what to do with lessons during our planning periods. Don't hesitate to ask your mentor questions!! It shows that you take initiative and they are there to help you grow. Best of luck with PCE and remember to celebrate small successes ☺
Hi, I am going to do PC in a week. Could you please give me a little detail about that? For example, how long it takes, how many time you teach, and lesson plans… thank you
Hi! It's 75 hours total of observation hours (rec. 30 hrs), teaching experiences (10 hrs min), lesson planning (10 hrs max), and additional experiences (10 hrs min, 25 hrs max). There's a PCE log that states these requirements. The length varies depending on how often you go into the classroom. I went Monday-Friday and finished PCE within 2 weeks. You'll also have performance tasks that cover one formal lesson plan. This includes lesson plan preparations, reflection on your instruction, and assessment analysis. Good luck!!!
How was taking the online courses at WGU, what were they like... and how long did it take you? Do you feel like it sufficiently prepared you for PCE and DT?
WGU courses are very manageable if you put in the time to study and do practice problems. You'll have performance tasks (writing) and/or proctored exams. Everything is self-paced, so you need to set a schedule for yourself. I finished my MATELED within one year! Since it's an online program, it helped more with understanding what's important in lesson planning rather than the teaching aspect. I had experience working with kids, which played a significant role in how I teach.
@@ms.trinh.teaches Omg thank you so much for getting back to me. Im seriously considering WGU for my BA in Elementary Education, or ODU Online. I worry about it being self paced but i think i could do it, ive only tutored and worked in a daycare, so i guess im worried about feeling prepared. Can you do your PCE while still taking classes or do you have to finish all your classes before? I know before DT you need to finish all your classes and pass your licensure exams.
@@minnie3843 WGU has great support when it comes to courses and any other questions! My program mentor was always able to ease my worries with the program. You need to finish all classes before PCE too.

Find a placement ASAP!! Also, max out on those additional experiences (videos) to easily reach the hours. Good luck!!!!
