I've been working in classrooms for 3 years now and I'm so grateful for the experience that has taught me. I'm also going through WGU, but I'm going the alternative license route. I always recommend to anybody, work in a classroom first. Apply to be an aid, or assistant, anything. The experience of working directly with students daily is so crucial, I feel.
I second this! I've worked as an AVID tutor, behavior technician, and substitute teacher. The experience doesn't fully prepare you for the unexpected, but it definitely equips you with tools to manage a classroom.
Hang in there...I've been teaching for over 13 years. It is hard and the behaviors do not get easier but you do learn techniques for dealing with many, many behavior issues each school year.
It was so tedious and exhausting! I felt bad working on it during school hours, but there was no way I could have submitted it early if that wasn't the case.
Definitely like two months late but I wish you the best. I just started my teaching career in September and I love it though I wish I would’ve recorded myself during my student teaching process too, it was definitely a process.

Good days make me forget that the bad ones ever happened. What behavior strategies have worked best for you?
The CalTPA’s, cycle 1 and cycle 2 requirements completely ruined my student teaching experience because it overwhelmed me SO much.

You are a wonderful student teacher! Keep it up. ❤
Thank you! 🥰

Thank you so much! I hope your journey is everything that you imagined ✨ It's never too late to start documenting!
Just had my first observation yesterday! 🫠
One step closer! How was it?
@@ms.trinh.teaches I scored a 2 in majority of the categories because of the behavioral issues I struggled with during my lesson 🙃
