Thank you for sharing! I stumbled upon this when searching for Teachers College stuff and I enjoy hearing your experiences! I’m still a ways out from my DT but I’m already mentally preparing and trying to find all of the resources I can!
Thank you for the video, so helpful! I was wondering, in my state DT is 60 days, do you know if this includes weekends? Because if it does my DT would be about 2 months, and if it doesn't then it would end up being about 3 months long. Thanks for any help you can provide on this!
Hey! I know I’m late watching this, but I’m about to start my PCE and your videos have helped so much! About DT, how many hours were you at the school each day & how long did it take for you to work on hw? Thank you!!!
It's expected that you're on campus the same hours as your host teacher, but most teachers will be okay with you just coming for contracted hours. I was on campus from 6:30am until 4-6pm to plan and prep. Some homework assignments were more tedious than others, so I would manage my time to spend at least an hour each day (more on weekends). I always recommend to start the edTPA as soon as you can once you start DT.
Hi, I am in the process of doing my Basic Skills test but wanted to know how long was it for you to get placed after taking the Content test? My program mentor told me I could still get everything done this year to start Student teaching in January but I would have to wait a whole month to be placed, was that similar to your experience? I apologize if I am asking too much.
@@victoriawilliams7093 Don't feel bad for asking for help! I went through their MATELED program, then completed PCE and DT after finishing all the courses. Demonstration teaching was October 2023 - February 2024 for me. It was 65 school days since I'm from California.
“i havent even taught them yet” lmaoooo 😭 kids are so cutee

Good luck with the program! Wishing you the best once it's your time to start DT

Hi! I had all my exams completed before starting WGU. My placement was confirmed a month after applying for student teaching.
@@ms.trinh.teaches oh so you just went to WGU for PCE and DT? Sorry to be a bother. When did you start Demonstration Teaching?
