Love this unexpected turn from John Lewis. The music, the Venus flytrap, the Family dynamic absolutely perfect Bonkers and brilliant - yet again, you have out manoeuvered every other retailer in the Christmas advert market.
As someone who had an obsession with Little Shop of Horrors and Audrey 2 growing up this is amazing! I would have loved a Snapper Christmas tree when I was a child!
I absolutely love this. As a 41yr old father. It conjured many memories for me, I was a similar age when I first saw little shop of horrors. great film. Great to see John Lewis throwing a curve ball to the others. Really impressed me. Managed to avoid so many dodgy beliefs systems, Karen's of many many kinds. Great video. Well done

That's next year's ad. The plant is still where it was left in the garden with decorations on and each stem has a family member shaped bulge in it. For someone who still hasn't got over seeing Day of the Triffids as a child, and Little Shop of Horrors, this ad is nightmarish to say the least.
Snapper is probably the best and cutest character you’ve made to date John Lewis. Not the theme I would’ve gone for but i think it’s still my favourite Christmas advert this year and John Lewis adverts are always my favourite every year

Idk what happens but I git very emotional when the plant was dragged outside, really sad, then hopeful when everybody came with their presents to it. Beautiful. But when the plant started eating the gifts and throwing them to the family, I was in shocked and laughed for five minutes straight. All emotions in a 2 minutes ad. This might be the most surprising commercial I've ever witnessed in my whole life😂❤

Last year's ad was a deliberate safe move. They cleverly incorporated adoption, which no one criticize. with learning to skateboard & ordinary people. It was low stakes, lower budget & not adventurous or ambitious, as a reaction to the odd, misplaced harsh reaction to the previous year's advert, which had a boy's friendship/first crush with an alien girl, he discovers. So many people's comments didn't recognise the clear Christmas spirit and emotion in it of giving, helping others, and that sentimental, bittersweet and magical feeling previous JL adverts have captured.
Loved it! Just a bit quirky and sad for the plant when the Christmas tree came in. Loved the little boy and the plant vibe. Well done JL, just that bit different

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the annual tradition at JL of Dame Sharon making staff redundant and scrapping the partners' bonuses.
