- I am using the Sony Xperia 5 V after using the Xperia 5 II for over three years. The design is very similar to the previous generations, but there are some improvements, especially in the battery department. I reviewed Xperia 5 Mark 5 in this youtube video.

I had the original 5...now i have the 5iii...i will get the 5v...it looks stunning in blue!😍
i have/had the 5ii, it unfortunately has 4 green stripes in the screen mpw :(. now using a google pixel 6a as cheap in between option but i had this google phone, terrible software in comparison to sony i think. So next one will be a sony. i hope they will release a 5vi with a dedicated zoom lens again than i probably will go for that one.

Xperia 5 IV will be my last Sony phone. My phone finger print sensor option suddenly disappeared and I couldn't bring it back. I have tried all the tips available on Internet and nothing worked. Having no Face ID and no finger print scanner makes me to type my password in public if I want to unlock my phone. The Finger print option going missing is a well known issue in Xperia 1 and 5 series phones and Sony still didn't address why it happens. Even Xperia 5 IV has sensor placement similar to Xperia 5 V. So I think the issue hasn't been solved yet.
The torch is abysmal. There is also green line issue on 5 series phones that start appearing after some usage. For the price they charge, the QC is the worst. Hoping it won't happen on my phone.
The only things I like about the phone is the notification LED, headphone jack, 21:9 screen, video pro and photo pro which offer pro modes and excellent control in tough conditions.
I will never forgive Sony for removing the telephoto lens on 5 series. The had an okayish telephoto lens on their previous models and they started to make the telephoto lens worse after each iteration. I also don't understand why they removed notification LED.

Thanks, really appreciate it. It's as smooth as it gets. Due to my job, I get to use lots of different phones from different brands, I don't think there is something in the market that is smoother than this. I know there are higher refresh rates, my eyes don't notice them though. In the video you may notice there is some stuttering when I'm browsing reddit, the reason is I was testing the 60hz option and forgot to put it to 120hz when I was doing the review :)

@@Stains87 haha sorry, I made a creative video a few days ago with it, and the quality was really good. The great thing about 120fps is that you can have this cinematic slow-motion effect. It's surprising to me because my Canon R50 shoots at 60fps and only HD, I have no idea how they achieved this frame rate 😀

@@techmo2020achieving high fps video recording is mostly down to the soc (system on a chip) or the processor/processors it uses.
The better the processor the more the sensor can be used, you could theoretically shoot 4K on any 8mp sensor just that the soc that do come with those sensors aren't fast enough to process those kinds of videos.
Another interesting thing is that most phones with predictive capture have dedicated ram purely for the sensor to achieve predictive capture and "store" the predicted images before you take a picture and they can be easily dumped if you don't take a picture.

Photos and videos quality are amazing 100% natural color so this is the best camera compare to iphone series and other mobiles phones so Sony engineers can do even more this in coming days make 4k screen 8k video and 55000mah and a little shorter length and a little wider body and then sony phones would the best and number 1 in the world. The phone is a very unique. Certainly if you like to listen to music and take photos in old fashioned way, then do not look further.

How's the speaker holding up? Mine had serious crackling with the earpiece speaker that I had to return it. How's the display also?
Sorry that happened to you, did you get a replacement device? I don't have a problem with speakers and I always listen to music at home with it. The display is excellent too.

I used to have an xperia 8 but I lost it unfortunately, decided to switch to a samsung phone which now, i' m using a Note 20 ultra, i love this phone productivity wise, I use this phone as my PC instead of my laptop. But i've had thoughts of returning to an xperia phone ever since, productivity wise, is Xperia phones good for this? Or am i okay staying with my Samsung Note?
I would say Xperia is for content creation, it's a powerhouse and I don't carry my camera all the time anymore. For productivity I would stay with Note, for me the Stylus was critical for taking notes in the university.
I personally love the 21:9 ratio. Much easier to use. I also love Xperias don't go with the trend (in most cases anyway). Price is right in my opinion for a premium device
Hi, you can get a good quality photo in auto mode or much better in manual?
Auto mode gives a nice output, it's comparable and sometimes better than my iphone 14. The manual mode is when you want to have a specific picture. For example if you want to increase the shutter speed to let more light into the camera.
I bought a new phone recently without considering foam factor and I rejected it on a single day because it was horrible to hold.. 6.7 display phone. I am buying another 😭

Bitte beachtet dass die Navigationstasten am unteren Bildschirmrand nicht in der Anordnung Rheinfolge geändert werden können. Die Zurücktast ist fest ganz links was für die Einhandbedienung sehr ärgerlich ist.
Interessant, ich benutze "Gesture Navigation", also ist mir dieses Problem nicht aufgefallen.
Hello, what if you have to use this phone only for web surfing (most) , RUclips (quite) , some Photo & Video shoots ( rare ) , almost without gaming and less than 50% brightness. How long last from this morning with 100%
Yesterday I had around 2h use of surfing and a bit youtube and Whatsapp, and my battery went to 65% from morning to night on 5g.

Yes that's the selling point for me, I don't use the headphone jack, but SD card is a must :)
For good flagship you need good software and support and this is where I feel like Sony say's: "sorry, it's your problem now".

No it's not. I prefer side-mounted, it's much, much better.

I've had the phone for about 3 months and I have to say that there are several things that have let me down. First of all the screen is a huge disappointment. Whites have bluish tint especially when the phone is viewed from an angle. The worst thing, however, is the fact that mine has developed the so called image retention of the navigation bar and the status icons like battery, wi-fi, clock etc. It is pretty visible on a grey background. I keep my brightness around 50% but still the issue is present. Premium price for a mediocre screen in my opinion. 128gb of internal storage is also not enough these days, especially for a flagship. SD card slot is a plus, but you cannot directly record high quality videos on it. Othewise solid battery life, excellent audio, snappy performacne and great form factor.
I'm sorry for the navigation bar problem, I remember this issue was present in some Galaxy phones back in days. If I were you, I would just send it back to warranty and ask for a new device. For the blueish color of whites, try to play around with the white balance in the display setting, it will solve your problem if it's not hardware failure.
How much zoom does the Xperia 5 V have?
You can zoom x6 on basic mode.
What about processor? Is it good?
It's the latest snapdragon 8, great performance without overheating issues.
great cameraphone due to the main cam but not worth the price imo due to it not having a 3x-ish telephoto lens. Just a normal one would've been fine instead of the variable zoom one form the Xperia 1 V. The other huge problem I have is with performance, the stability is horrendous. If Sony were able to improve their cooling whilst keeping the performance great than they'd have a better chance at getting a larger audience. Everyone, myself included, is afraid of getting the "phone is too hot" after recording or something, especially when they live in warmer countries.
There have been SO MANY posts and videos out there stating that those camera overheating warnings are gone now. Sony fixed that this generation.
@@droid1appmkr yeah but most of them are in europe and america where it's cool, any phone overheats in a hot climate, and from tests it can be seen that the xperia phones get hotter than the rest for less performance. Thus im sure it'll get destroyed in my country
Do you owned a 1 V or 5 V to speak about overheating issues? SD 8 Gen 2 already solved the overheating issue.
@@kamarulazrin9496 better efficiency from the chip can't beat better cooling, Vivo proves that time and time again, their X90 Pro+ has 90% stability with the 8 gen 2. Sony phones would've been far more feasible for 200-400 euros less, great phone, bad pricing.

"best compact flagship" but doesn't do any side by side physical comparison with other small phones or show how comfortable it is to use with one hand (top of screen reachability).

If SD card is so important to you tou could just get a usb flash drive with a Type C connector... Instead.
That is not as convenient as having the option to have it.

lets be honest here: 21:9 form factor is annoying and useless 99% of the time. and 30 EURO (!!!!) for a plastic back which is worth a FEW CENT is just a rip off!
