I've fished that area for over 40 years, so I can tell you that there are MONSTER black drum in those waters. That blue crab you caught would be a fantastic bait to get one of those. Best fishing is at night. That's when the big boys come out to play. Tight lines! ❤

There is a long, probably over a mile, walking/park area near Manatee Memorial hospital. Free parking along the street. I just found a parking spot and walked over and started fishing!

Yellowtail snapper are in fact delicious. However, that grunting fish was actually a jack crevalle. Much less table-worthy.

You are supposed to say “There’s a fish”! Not THATS a fish

    That's a yellow tail snapper.

My pleasure. Yellowtail snapper are a lot fun to catch, they are also great eating. You can cook them whole, or fillet them. Number 1 recommendation for cooking yellowtail is the less you put on it the better it will be. Let the natural tender flavor of yellowtail be enjoyed on its own. Happy fishing from a 39 yr old native of Bradenton.

Jack crevelle, really fun to catch but not great to eat. Definitely not a yellow tail snapper lol

@@mattyvio1985 exactly! But.... they actually are good to eat. Just take care of the meat. Reputation of being trash fish but try as ceviche
