I just used the "easy clean" feature of my LG oven. WORTHLESS!! Not only does it take forever to spray 10 oz of water onto all the surfaces of the oven, once the 10 minute cycle is over you still need to scrub any stains or dirty areas with a scrub sponge. Only about 1/2 the soiled area has come clean, and it was barely dirty to begin with. The only reason I ran the cycle is because the oven kept sending me messages that I needed to clean it. So to review, in the past, I would spray oven cleaner on the oven surfaces, wait a few minutes and wipe out any soil. Now, more steps are involved, I still have to scrub the interior surfaces, and I still can't get up all the soil. Nevermind.
Self clean i IS worthless. LG doesn't want us to use oven cleaner on their ceramic coating. LG cut corners sprayed on some cheap liner instead of what most stoves have. Anyone know if there is a recall or class action lawsuit?
I had apiece of garlic bread fall on my oven close to the oven door. Tried to wipe it off with a damp rag after oven cooled off. It wouldn't come clean. So I did a self clean. That didn't remove it. So I did a regular clean. Same thing. Very unhappy ! Just purchased my appliances in March.
I purchased an LG Electric Range with Convection and Air Fryer functions in July. I have had problems with the Self Clean Element 3 times. The oven malfunctions with an F9 error and locks. A technician has to come out to replace a sensor. Has anyone else had this issue with this Range?
I have a LSG4513BD gas range that was in my house when I bought it 3 months ago. I can not get it to self clean. When I start the cycle it seems to begin but it then seems to trip out and shut down the unit completely. I have to unplug and replicate it in to get it to work. What’s wrong
So I just used Easy Off to clean my lg oven but it didn't work very well. You mentioned not using self clean after using a cleaning product. How long should I wait?
Hey there! Great question. We don't recommend using any cleaning products for our Easy-Clean or Self-Clean programs, as we typically recommend using only water and agitation tools for the Easy-Clean cycle. If your oven interior has been cleaned with a cleaning product recently, we recommend wiping down the interior again with water-and then drying it off. You can begin the Self-Clean program once the oven is completely dry again. *Joseph

I cleaned my oven today as described in this video. After 3 hours using self cleaning mode. Once I could open the door again, the stove is still dirty. But most upsetting is the glass door is streaked and ruined. No matter what I have tried, it appears the glass is damaged. I would love to send pictures but I don't have any means to do so. Hey there. We would love to help you clean those stubborn stains from your LG oven. If you rerun your self-cleaning mode and the stubborn stain is still not gone, mix baking soda and water to create a paste, then apply it to the glass door and let it sit for a few minutes to soften the debris, then you can wipe it with a rag or sponge. You can also use some glass cleaner specifically designed for oven glass. If the stain is between the glass, check out these tips and tricks on how to clean that here: www.lg.com/ca_en/support/product-support/troubleshoot/help-library/cs-CT20098053-20152452054056/. Do not start self clean if your oven is still hot from baking something. I did a 4 hour self clean and have a residue etched in the oven interior and glass. LG Customer support has been useless. My husband and I have spent several days trying to remove this with no success. LG Support suggestions of Easy Clean, baking soda (left on for a year wouldn’t penetrate this,) and other mild cleaning formulas are all totally ineffective. I was told I should not have started self clean from a hot oven and even told that the manual says cold oven. Sent them pictures of my manual which no where says to start from a cold oven. So I was sent an instructional UTube video to prove to me that those are the instructions. Oops, the video is for easy clean. We have trusted LG for years and have a houseful of their appliances and tvs. Never again. I did something to the oven, added oven cleaner they insinuate. Tell me who would want to breathe those fumes sprayed on a hot oven? I have witnesses, there to enjoy my husband’s birthday pies straight out of the oven. They saw me start the Self Clean and can testify to what I did and more importantly what I did not do. I offered to take a lie detector. They consider it cosmetic damage but have no concerns for our health cooking with whatever that is that we are not able to remove. We purchased it in February! Oh and they just sent me a link to a video of how to clean my induction stove. Too bad I don’t have one and the video only talked about the cooktop. But you can rest assured, they were happy to be of service. I asked if this is cosmetic, please tell me a way to clean it that will remove the baked on substance etched to the enamel and glass. Baking soda. lol. My husband and I worked for many hours with utility razor blades to chip away at the coating on the glass. We can now see through it here and there, but much of the glass is scratched and still most of it is not clear. It’s going to take a pretty strong cleaner to remove it from the enamel but will it damage it? But it’s just cosmetic. If you are looking to buy LG, don’t.

This oven is impossible to clean. The beautiful blue interior is a worthless material. I always clean my oven after each use. The easy care cleaning does nothing. I am very unhappy with the interior of this product. I have a $230 Ninja foodi grill oven that I choose to use verses this expensive LG oven , because it roasts better and it has an awesome material that cleans up like new after every use. The LG is a huge disappointment and I think I paid $1800 for it. I will never purchase an LG oven again.
Hey Julia! LG ovens come with multiple cleaning options to ensure you can choose the most appropriate one for your needs. The Self Clean feature is a very heavy form of cleaning the interior of your oven. However, there are other options. For example, the Easy Clean option is designed to be a new alternative to Self Clean, which uses low heat and no chemicals and allows your oven to be cleaned in just minutes. We want also to ensure we're wiping down the oven after each Self Clean. So that ash does not continue to gather after each cleaning. You can check out more information about the Easy Clean option here: www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-range-easyclean-faq--1384538049078.
