I really like it. I just bought it and 'read the instruction manual' very important. I ran it last night in the rehearsal studio through an Orange AD30 and a US Tele. I've got a bunch of pedals and I'm chuffed that this thing is so easy to use and sounds great. It's called 'The Answer' for a reason. It sounded reasonable good running directly through the P.A. You have to know how to tweak it and POW. Highly recommend, solos sound great as it has a boost that runs through an A7X tube. Tone is awesome, we play hard rock so it really does the trick.
It doesn't matter which rig is best, any pedal board is better than no pedal board unless you're straight into the amp, which is perfectly fine, I've done both. Ultimately it's you who will be mixing all effects together in your own rig, if you're not capable of doing that effectively... the fault is not on the pedal board, getting paid well to market and endorse a product, that's a dream we all have. I'd be happy to take money to endorse a product to finance more of the music I'd love to record.

If you watched the whole video you heard the tech guy say he tweaked his sound to get it exactly how he wanted it, and anyways as with most multi effects pedal the stock patches almost always sound like crap 💩 you just have to mess around and have fun to find what you need!
Dave says: Rust in peace era tone "Marshall amp with a classic distortion pedal", the preset does precisely that and with a tube to warm it up on the end youll get the classic tube dynamics, warmth and tone :-) you just cant go wrong with tubes!
i still dont know why dave would ever need a G5 with all the equipment he got, i mean, is a good pedal, but it will never replace those magnificent marshalls

Its cool but doesn't sound as good its a modeling pedal just like a modeling amp they don't sound as good thats why all your bands still use old school pedals..Dont get me wrong its cool and nice just doesn't compare....
Daveyboy agreed and every effect in it is not the best, but as a whole they come close and now worries about patch cables, power supply chains, true bypass, recording interfaces, etc. I dont have one yet but have the MS100bt which is the single pedal version, its just for living room jamming, I had a beat buddy and sold it. Might get a Trio+ this year. I spent 150 shipped on this unit so I could sell it and make money, again just for home jamming not a pro touring unit by any means but for that money nothing comes close

If you are using an amp's preamp and not the pedal's, that's not a replication at all. That is the real thing. The only sound he's using from the pedal at that point is just a distortion. Which proves that you simply need a marshall amp and a distortion pedal to get that tone - the zoom g5 had nothing to do with it...
Basically, if you are running things like this into a Marshall, you'll never get the tone you are looking for, and as Dave Mastaine goes, he doesn't really give a rats ass about this product, infact, he never really showed anything in performance about this pedal at all. He knows it is a peice of shit. Just doin this ad for plublicity, and money

Dave doesn't have much use for effects pedals anyway. The style of music he plays and the venues all he needs is a large stack and guitar pretty much. If he was playing small venues then the G5 would be perfect.
I'd much rather step once on my old fashion drive pedal or reverb or delay and know it will kick in immediately with no second guessing rather than having to scroll through tons of menus and ridicules pre sets and play mad science with one of these. more time playing my guitar and less time with a computer.
I have the G5 it is a ok multieffect however will not substitute a great fuzz/ distortion/ drive pedal. The person who says the opposite or never played with a great analog pedal or is frustrated because can only afford multieffects or work for the multieffect companies. I have many multieffects including the g5. in general is a good equipment but cannot be compare with great distortion/drive and specially fuzz germanium pedal. Its like compare a civic from the 90's with a ferrari. :)

I think you are getting to the age when you also may use some of this stuff (of course women know what's right for you!).
