I still rank this processor better than the new breed of digital units being released every few years. That tube just purifies the digital processing and your output signal is what everyone craves from these $5,000 all tube heads. *When I was gone one day, someone smashed my G5!* I'm still pissed and have it in my electronics lab undergoing major surgery to repair it, and if that fails, *I am very likely to buy one used to replace it.* Every new model in very recent years from various brands I have owned was a polished turd, even the ridiculously expensive Headrush unit I owned and returned.
@@gearfacts my replacement came about a week ago since some lunatic smashed mine in my home studio and I'm still not certain who. *I have a highly acclaimed 2023 moderler/FX unit that is really outstanding, but this dinosaur still blows the last few generations of FX-modelers away.* The depths of it's parameters coupled with the valve make it superior, but oddly I think the Zoom 9.2tt may be even better since it has twin tubes. The fancy shmancy Headrush I bought and ultimately returned a couple years ago was just a complete and total 3-legged dog. I think everyone scrapping tubes at the end of the digital effects chain was a huge mistake.
I have been obsessing over a new delay pedal instead of putting my hands on my guitar. Most of these G5 sounds / patches mirror what the Boss dd-20 / 200 / 500 can do for my ears as far as my playing ability is concerned/can take me. Thank you for your demo / wake up call. I have what I need, I just have to use it.
If you open it up you might find a cylindrical fuse inside that will look all grey/black/milky. With a bit of luck all you'll need to do is replace it. Not all devices have this protetive system though. Hopefully your G5 does!
I do have same pedal but do not know how to bypass pedal effects connected to amp . I need to be able to activate pedal on and deactivate it to use amp setting
Is it possible run cab sims off through the quarter inch outs and run them on through the xlr out at the same time? This way I could run into a combo for monitoring and in to the PA for FOH
When looping I noticed the Tube Booster boosts the loop track as well as your guitar. I want it to just boost the over dune guitar. The sound in the playback is what you get when you over dub or am I missing something?
I am a big gearfacts fan and I want to request a video using this pedal: can u make a video of keyboard and synths running through this as an effects box please?
Great video! I loved this format from the moment Zoom introduced the B3, and I was terribly disappointed that they never made a B3X for bass or a B5. Does this pedal have any bass specific effects? I recognized many effects from my B3 in that scroll-thru, and the theremin is a great addition--just wish Zoom had released a bass version!
Yes that was an unusual moment for Zoom. There's normally a bass version of everything... There are no effects that stand out as bass-specific, but personally I'd still give it a go! Glad you liked the video :) GF
It's WAY more creative. I guess you could say it's like a science laboratory whereas the ME80 is more like a workshop, if that analogy makes sense. A lot of people would say the tone is better in the ME80, but the possibilities are more diverse and extreme in the G5. I would personally prefer the G5, but the most important thing is to simply buy the one that makes you smile - your music will thank you for it :)
Only 1 XLR out, hmmmm. Im guessing you can't program the switches to momentary. Either way, you can't beat that Z pedal. Was this before or after the G7.tt?
This came a couple of years after the G7.1ut. I think it was the first to have the large square screens, quickly followed by the Zoom G3 ...I guess that's all about 10 years ago now ...woah :/
I bought a second one, and two G1Xon units. Amazing units
It's a good choice, great to see you're enjoying them!

Funnest multi effects unit since the ancient zoom 3030 :-)

Great to hear! Thanks for watching
Probably the best multieffect pedal and interface ever made
Certainly in my top few :)
I mistakely plugged in a wrong adaptor and after changing it to use the adapter that came with my g5, it can't power on ..Any help please?

Stomp the button to turn on or off the pedal board effect.

Yep that should work. Can’t see any reason why not.
Can you run this through the effects loop of your amp for the effects?
Yep that'll work :) GF

I haven't got the G5 anymore sorry but it's really nice to hear that you're liking my channel so much :)
Does this also work as an audio interface? And what about midi? Can I use this as a midi pedal for my DAW?
Yes it should work for both those functions.

This little machine is a tad bit odd, but in a good way.
Weird G5 sounds video coming later today!

Indeed!
Thabks for the demo, I say it sounds 90% shit
Now you know :) Gratitude accepted!
The worst pedal I tried in my life. For beginner.
I paid 70$ us. Good for trash
Ouch! haha ....hope the video didn't get a thumbs-down :)
