Been a 49ers fan for many many decades now, and in the team's entire history, Jim Harbaugh and Alex Smith remain as two of my favorite 49ers of all time. Their time together was more brief than I wanted, but, wow, those were happy times.

I said "two of my favorite 49ers of all time."
Never even implied that people like Montana and Walsh and Craig and Rice and Rathman were not among my favorites (because they are).

Alex doesn’t get enough credit for his time with the Niners. Dude was working out with his guys while not under contract during the lockout. Says a lot about his character.

Great story from Alex. As a 9er fan, I knew he was horribly mis-managed during the Nolan era. Jimbo was a breath of fresh air, and sparked Alex's career to love football again. There's no denying that. Two great people of the gridiron.

It's funny how Alex's prior coaches dumped all the problems on him & were amazed that it just didn't work... and yet Jim Harbaugh was able to turn the entire team around with a philosophy of just going out and playing football.

Alex smith had an interesting career and life! He should have been the starting quarterback for San Francisco, the year they went to a Super Bowl. , not kapernick! Then he Didn't get his chance at kansas city because of mahomes ! He Went to washington was really in the zone there! And he got hurt! I felt like he reached being a Elite level quarterback, but then never got his shot.!

Calling Harbaugh a Lasso-type figure is so disrespectful to his football knowledge. It's always hilarious when a sportscaster or writer tries to put down a professional in this way as though he would be anything more than a GA on an NFL coaching staff.

Why's that an insult? He's basically saying Harbaugh is 100% authentic even if authentic is a little unconventional. Having been a fan on Harbaugh since Stanford, I think it's 100% true. The guy lives his life like Hallmark card slogans are true. And I respect it because you find in life the sophistication of your values is less important than living up to them.
