Should have had some of the GW2 fast farming guys join you on this. Or better yet invite them to a tea time where you all talk about meta events. That would be sick
Metal Legion meta in the D tier of fun is absolutely criminal. It's one of the most fun and memorable events I've had in an MMO, let alone GW2. It might not be for everyone, but it's a unique and extremely fun experience imo.
What this video overall emphasizes to me is the variety of metas available. Everyone has their fav for fun for different reasons, and I really appreciate that.
Quick note on Svanir Shaman. It does, however, teach Ryland's mechanics in DragonStorm. But slower. It's actually almost exactly the same for some of them. So that's actually cool. Same with the jungle worm in caledon for teaching basic triple trouble attacks. It teaches the mechanics. It's actually a really smart rework imo. (This might be super obvious or known, but I just think it's cool)
Did Dragon’s Stand last night with low population. We struggled and managed to get to the final phase with only 3 minutes left. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a meta event. Was so challenging!
HoT in general is probably the DLC with the most consistent amount of high quality meta events. From the whole Verdant Brink zone, to Tarir to Dragon Stand. Tangled Depth meta probably the only slight letdown, but still at least C tier imo
TT is probably the best designed meta in the game. You have very specific and well defined roles, so some level of organization is needed or it'll fail. So you get a group of 6-10 people who cover these roles and command, and then you have room for a massive zerg. I don't think there's any other meta events which have a need for roles like this.
Speaking of the Temples of Orr - consider the possibility of an Assault on Arah or Temple strikes with CMs... That would be something special to see as a way to revisit the encounters there, too.
I agree. They really should buff Orr, both in terms of damage/health of mobs and the loot. Updated Temples and Gate of Arah would be amazing, I still have so many great memories of those events.
Serpent's Ire was graded way too highly. The fact that it's in the Brand prevents it from ever being fun. In addition the final boss going invincible so frequently makes it tedious and boring at that point (which you criticize Shadow Behemoth for the very same thing).
Dragons end is nice when you win I imagine. Not sure what's going on but have lost that event 3 times in a row so far with a full map. Have yet to complete it.
Idk how you failed, the first time i tried it, it was just with random ppl around the map, don't even think there were that many, and i didn't join anyone or any group, and still did it. I don't do LFG for meta events or world bosses, just go to the map and tag along with the ppl doing it. hadn't faild any yet. Just keep trying, you'll get it eventually. it isn't that great imo
Chak Gerent loot, secret is you spend that 10-15 minutes waiting looting the 4 lanes, 'cos once that wall comes down those caches vanish. It's more like A-tier loot if the individual lane metas were done; maybe ~30 extra "chests". If there's only the big chest and the room beyond the wall then yeah, C-tier.
Unpopular opinion: I like burried treasure meta. Its just more exploration based and basically a little mount race between each chest with the added fun factor of the route being different each time. That's just from solo running it, there's probably a degen way to get a bunch of people in one spot and just farm chests in the same section forever. For rewards you can get the music box drop which isn't too bad, but it's rare.
Love these videos, this one was a good'un. It got me thinking though how my favourite maps (grothmar, kaineng) have terrible metas so I don't go to them very often. So what about a map tier list, in terms of design/exploration/scenery?
Whats funny its that kaineng, yes is a boring meta. But its far approachable than dragons end (Teapot can easily form a 50 decent group) and its is one the best to farm is you consider fast farm community information. With the spike in jade runestone, the key and the imperial favor you can get juicy gold.
Offhand, I don't even remember what Kourna's is, and I really hate oil floes for some reason, though I can't articulate why. Fun list, though! Also I love that we're all still in love with HoT events years later. They're just so good.
I hate metas that take forever (like Dragon's End) or involve very tense "follow the tag" chases to tag things before they die (Drizzlewood South or Dragonfall). Ultimately I want something relatively quick I can fit into my rotation of daily tasks without having to stay up later than I intended, and something that doesn't have me sweating so hard I can't enjoy a glass of whisky on the side as I play.
@@ohgeezrick2019 Auric Basin's Octovine meta is one that I do like. The loot collection could afford a lot of simplification, but it still doesn't take all that long. Typically I'm in and out in 20 minutes, including getting there early to grab an armor. Dragonstorm is also pretty efficient to run, as is Tequatl.
@@cloudcleaver23 I'll keep that in mind thank you! I'm about 2 weeks into the game so my knowledge on metas is not expansive, theyre just a slog to me. Fractals imo seem much more engaging.
On Buried Treasure (Desert Highlands Meta) This meta was never huge in terms of money. At the time of release the largest money from it where Recipe/Inscriptions for Harrier gear and Sunspear Weapons for Collections. This was before normalizing all Stat Selectable gear to have all stats from Core, HoT, and PoF. Most gold were from the high level of "gems" these chests contain. (See also Krait Sunken Treasure chests). These included HoT gems so extra Freshwater Pearls for a nice bonus. Dragon's Fall tanked the value of chests since it brought a larger and easier influx of gems to the game. I find Buried Treasure an attempt of a more PoF style Meta. Remember all the discussions of EoD? "Is is going to be more like HoT or PoF?" PoF is an easier more laid back experience. It focuses on the large maps and exploration. Elona has tons of Jumping Puzzles, Ruins, Jackal Mazes, single chain Events for a player to just go and solo it. How great is the Dwarf Dungeon in Desert Highlands? Who remembers it? No on b/c it doesn't have an event, META, or AP attached to it. Is the Dwarf Dungeon still great and an awesome experience? Yes.
Now make a Living world episode tier list, maybe rank them in terms of how much it helpsnyour account progression, good items you can get from them, unique rewards like the 32 slot bag in sandswept
Dragonfall is only "ok" if you have Skyscale, otherwise I agree with what you said. I feel like Dragonfall meta and the map in general is probably the only map in the entire game that feels like it's designed around one very specific mount. Sure you can get around with other mounts but omg before getting Skyscale all that meta was me trying to keep up and chasing the entire group with their Skyscales. Sure the meta is profitable noneless but it's an absolute pain if you don't have Skyscale. Even the TPs and the "one time use Skyscales" doesn't help that much to remove that feeling that because of not having that mount you basically don't belong there.
Yeah, that's fair. I've been doing it a lot because I have every PoF mastery unlocked, so it gives me tons of resources, tons of spirit shards, tons of karma, good volatile magic and it helps me practice my combat mobility and mount swapping.
LwS3 is pretty good for ascended trinkets, it’s fast, fun and there are always people doing the maps. Bloodstone fen is super fun with the ambience and boss fights. It’s my favourite map atm.
As a player who doesn’t have a skyscale, just want to call out that the fun factor of many metas (DS, VB boss rush, etc.) is significantly decreased because you spend more time scrambling (and failing) to keep up with the skyscale players who rush ahead way faster.
I love seeing people debate where events go. Let’s you know just how many things people can find fun, and even if you don’t like something, someone else will.
Grenth Temple back in the day... "JONEEEZZ!!!!" ( everyone drops heals on Jonez as he nearly dies to like 3 wraith wells ). And the misery of having to wait for the restart if he dies made the last room so tense it was epic. And the armour he sold was cool back then. S-tier back in the day; now, I kinda want to put it in B for the memberberries.
Battle for Lions Arch without the Breachmaker felt like half of that event is missing. When playing it back when it came out the zerging first and then the battle on the brechmaker was epic. I don't get why they did not bring the whole fight when they brought this back.
I almost never find a dragon's end meta any more. I started out in one the other day as a quick catalyst, but got kicked because the com didn't consider quick cat to be good enough at providing quickness. So it has been a couple weeks since I have found one. Sad.
I wish my Dragon's End experience was as great as it is for Teapot. Only ever had one successful run and a dozen failures. It's neither fun nor profitable to go through the entire escort, fail the final fight consistently at the second champions phase, and get absolutely nothing. And that's with all the prep done and most people with max stacks. It just doesn't happen for me. F for both lists. Much better for morale and income to do other metas.
Dang, sorry to hear. General rule of thumb is: if the commander's not using sub groups and tossing out words like "quickness" and "alacrity", and they haven't gotten all the zones up to "high readiness" in the first 10 - 15 minutes, it's probably not going to succeed. Just the lack of subgroups alone is a warning. You can tell when there's a winning commander, because the map will hit max pop pretty quickly.
I'm a newer player. I only play 3 of these: Triple Trouble, Tequatl, and Claw of Jormag. I agree with your analysis. Triple Trouble is easy for me at this point, but the loot is 99% sCrap, and a few that sell for 10 silver. I did get my first ascended gear with the Regurgitated, so no complaints there. Still, I run it every day. Overall, I say rewards in this game are kinda sucky. I practically get nothing I can use 99% of the time playing story. People say it's not gear oriented, but it's still a big part of the motivation for playing. Even changing how I look would be nice. I'm still wearing the same Scallywag chest strap I got 2 months ago. I know I'll get more doing fractals/strikes, etc., but you would think killing a god in Path of Fire would have gotten me SOMETHING I could use.
Mighty I would love to see a new Zero to Hero run on a fresh account without buying the DLCs or spending a single penny,. That would encourage the new comers to invest some time in the game, people who have second thought whether the DLCs worth it or not, or people who can't afford the DLCs. Love your content and keep up the good work.
He's already done a full zero to hero including the bonus episode of going from 0-80. It wouldnt really make sense to suggest he go beyond just hitting level 80 on a f2p account because the only content left to farm at that point is silverwastes, fractals, and dungeons. Pretty much the whole game is locked behind expansions or living world, which he bought using in game gold.
I know you already talk a lot during your things, but it would be nice to mention more where these metas are, i found myself pausing and looking at the wiki too much, just to go, oh yeah that one. Comments could say learn the names, but there are so damn many, some i didnt even know were technically metas
is LW4 good for ascended trinkets? You can only buy trinkets with Difloruote crystal and mistborn mote. For both of these it's easier to get Eternal Ice shards and convert but that's 2000 eternal ice shard cost in currency if you're turning unbound magic into gold. Would rather farm 250 S3 currency than 2000 eternal ice shard. Obvs for 1 ascended neck and 1 ascended accessory the IBS ones are a no-brainer as they are much cheaper than the S4 ones.
i also don't think lw4 is good for those. you can just buy the accessories / amulets directly with eternal ice shards and karma in IBS after two achievements. by far the easiest way to fill those two slots.
You can do 5 strikes and open the large chests on the cliffs north of the western Bjora Marches waypoint (I forget the name, but the one closer to Drakkar). This will very quickly build up a huge number of ice shards.
@@iRoXsOxAlOt You can but you can convert those into money as well so the opportunity cost is still bigger to use 2000 eternal ice over 250 winterberry or w/e
"Maybe one or two of you still like fun." We're a dying breed, but there's a few kicking around still. Usually doing nothing impressive, but we're here.
i disagree with Dragon's End being S Tier in terms of profit, it's just a slog to get good prep phase, and the final rewards don't really feel worth the 45 minute average time you'd be dedicating to get in, form a cohesive squad, and succeed. it's not the worst profit either, but Dragonfall, Drizzlewood, and Silverwastes are no risk with higher average reward.
I ran silver wastes all week, 2-3 rounds a night, (which goes real fast) and after selling what I didn’t need to keep I made between 16-25 gold per day. If I sold everything it would be even more. It’s also fun and always a huge population doing it, unlike other maps that seem dead every time I go.
how would you rate the Ley-Line-Anomaly? personally i think it`s like C tier in fun but for profit I would give it at least A, maybe even higher. Love ur list tho :D
I think Dragon's End is an A tier somewhere. It has a boring zone that it takes place in and the pre events are just as boring. The only good thing about Dragons End is Soo Wong. Its the best Dragon Encounter in a meta event so far. However it is with its issues. Targeting Soo Won is just diffucult as there are so many ads spawning everywhere. Its very messy and chaotic. You also lose your EMPs if you jump from platform to the other bosses and keep having to pick them up. And then there is the spear with the whirlpool. Is that hard to throw at Soo Won on purpose? Aside from that the fight is beastly.
I know there are people who can do Dragon's end successfully. I have only ever been in one group that completed it. Finding a group that isn't full near the time is so difficult. Don't get me wrong, it is awesome and fun.... but I can't ever find a group that does it right.
ngl the skyscale pushes the DS meta from an S down to a B for me, it's just not quite as fun an event when everyone rushes in front of you, effortlessly flies from platform to platform whilst you're struggling to keep up by gliding to the action. the meta was not designed for the skyscale and the inclusion of it ruins quite a few aspects of it
I still can't believe Teapot put Svanir shaman as high as he did. HAS HE DONE THAT EVENT RECENTLY?? OVER DRAGONFALL? MAP COMPLETING ORR WHILE RP AS A WATER MAGE ELEMENTALIST IS MORE FUN THAN SVARNIR SHAMAN!!
The legendaries, believe it or not, had soldier's stats on launch - power/toughness/vitality and you COULD NOT STAT SWAP. They had the same damage as exotics which were the highest damage at the time, but their stat combo was atrocious. You could still use transmutation stones (something that also was removed later) to transmute berserker or whatever other stat you wanted, but the item stopped being a purple name then 🤣
dont do dragons end, auric basin meta + dragonfall + maybe aether for chest farms and occasionally dragonstorm, find something else you like on top of it, just gathering motes around dragonfall is probably more profitable than dragons end since you can do currency conversion.
Dragonfall is prob my favorite area to farm, you also dont like silverwastes which i find also great :D I guess you just dont like running around farming lots of stuff outside a big boss train
Meta Events is the only fomo for me. Missing the meta experience shortly after release has gutted me since HoT. Doing it meta for first cpl times is always cool, but sharing that with others, regardless if its good or not, is better
I do wonder how many confetti you got from Piniata .. Cause you've been playing for a while .. Ive been doing Infusion meta Train daily for past 2 months on reset .. Of course it never droped 😂😂but eh..
> Does a FUN Tiers list > Rates Metal legion, the objectively most fun event D Tiers because not enough combat AAAAAND the worst take of the year goes to .. MightyTeapot :D
I'd love to be joking, but I'll be unhinged: *Metal Legion in D tier is a disservice to the event designers and musicians.* It's a breather from fight-focused metas and should be evaluated by that metric. The reception among the community was great back when Grothmar was released, one of the few positive things people talked about in the "doom" Icebrood Saga era. Actually there is an objective metric there: Metal Legion keys are only so cheap because people prefer running it for the fun.
PINATA - I've reported this on a few occasions over the years but no positive reply from ANET... so lets make a few people unhappy! If you don't click on the boxes top of your minimap you can get the daily box up to FIVE times. Log in on an alt on the hour, AFK on a busy map for 20mins, get the box. Repeat 5 times, 5 times the chance of infusion, that's a lot for doing nowt. *Watches as the price of Amalgamated Gemstones plummets while chuckling to himself...*

Just go full legendary for your main - problem solved - that's what I did
Spec chamber pre event is a big farm for trophies and karma
Ooze pits A, and metal legion D. I'd rate them the other way around
Metal legion is the best and most memorable event in years.
Crazy, crazy man.
@Sleepy 🐉 Nah, Ooze Pits isn't really as fun. Unless you play with the game muted, but really Metal Legion is music-centered meta :P
Can you make a new meta tier list for the expansion only?
"Maybe one or two of you still like fun." We're a dying breed, but there's a few kicking around still. Usually doing nothing impressive, but we're here.
The piñata. 😂 what did anyone expect
i disagree with Dragon's End being S Tier in terms of profit, it's just a slog to get good prep phase, and the final rewards don't really feel worth the 45 minute average time you'd be dedicating to get in, form a cohesive squad, and succeed. it's not the worst profit either, but Dragonfall, Drizzlewood, and Silverwastes are no risk with higher average reward.
10 minute loot waiting at Chak is really A fun :)
how would you rate the Ley-Line-Anomaly? personally i think it`s like C tier in fun but for profit I would give it at least A, maybe even higher. Love ur list tho :D
Is it really worth the waiting time after the Chak meta, or can you leave the map after the giant bug is down ?
Im super new and ive done dragonstorm like twice already but public , may i know why public is A tier and Private squad is S?
I know there are people who can do Dragon's end successfully.
I have only ever been in one group that completed it. Finding a group that isn't full near the time is so difficult.
Don't get me wrong, it is awesome and fun.... but I can't ever find a group that does it right.
Metal Legion Concert is A tier for Fun Factor.
What is Imperial Favor useful for? I have ridiculous amounts and have nothing to buy with it.
You can buy exotic gear from the Jade Vault in Seitung which you can then sell for gold! Was very important in powering my zero to hero
ngl the skyscale pushes the DS meta from an S down to a B for me, it's just not quite as fun an event when everyone rushes in front of you, effortlessly flies from platform to platform whilst you're struggling to keep up by gliding to the action. the meta was not designed for the skyscale and the inclusion of it ruins quite a few aspects of it
Just did my first dragonfall meta since release and wow I’ve never seen world content look so sweaty.
I’ve been playing for around 6 years on and off and i don’t know around 80% of those metas existed 🤣
Where is my favourite meta boss Drajjar??????? wtf teapot
DrajjarGa
Personally I love the Dragonfall meta and the whole event, but only if I'm leading the farm squad, otherwise it's a map I just play on autopilot
I am a returnee after 8 years and I am completely lost in what a Meta Even is 🤣😂
I still can't believe Teapot put Svanir shaman as high as he did. HAS HE DONE THAT EVENT RECENTLY?? OVER DRAGONFALL? MAP COMPLETING ORR WHILE RP AS A WATER MAGE ELEMENTALIST IS MORE FUN THAN SVARNIR SHAMAN!!
"back in the day there was no ascended" - so did the legendaries have exotic stats, or were they actually the best weapons?
The legendaries, believe it or not, had soldier's stats on launch - power/toughness/vitality and you COULD NOT STAT SWAP. They had the same damage as exotics which were the highest damage at the time, but their stat combo was atrocious. You could still use transmutation stones (something that also was removed later) to transmute berserker or whatever other stat you wanted, but the item stopped being a purple name then 🤣
How can i make dragon's end more profitable? Because now in 2024 memory of aurien are only 50 silver
dont do dragons end, auric basin meta + dragonfall + maybe aether for chest farms and occasionally dragonstorm, find something else you like on top of it, just gathering motes around dragonfall is probably more profitable than dragons end since you can do currency conversion.
Dragonfall is prob my favorite area to farm, you also dont like silverwastes which i find also great :D I guess you just dont like running around farming lots of stuff outside a big boss train
Omg dont throw the concert into D it is so cool, i wished they did more of those
Ember bay has a meta?
Can you do JP tier list?
Make a tier list of pve encounters, dificulty vs fun
No link for the tierlist? 😢
Great video but putting SW lower than Fire ele is criminal
Yes DBS is very fun me playing on EU join meta train, the Commander said: BIG CC only!
I've been waiting for this since birth
This is why the Kaineng statuettes are so expensive...
Can you post the tier lists in the comments? You got the watch from me. Would like to work through the list, no way I'm rewatching a 90min vid
The only good part about the Kourna meta is that you can kill players by EMPing the poison bombs during the golem fight.
Isn't Aspenwood missing? It's technically still a meta, even if no one really run it.
Please provide a link to the output graphics
Now just make a filter for S/A/B fun metas that are also S/A/B profit, and profit!
0! I've never dropped an ultra high ticket, highest value drop in 20k hours was an infusion on my alt for 2k
@MightyTeapot I see.. so the small possibility for a drop that is already small is smaller than small 🥲🥲
LOVELY!
> Does a FUN Tiers list
> Rates Metal legion, the objectively most fun event D Tiers because not enough combat
AAAAAND the worst take of the year goes to .. MightyTeapot :D
I agree with fun list but the profit one maybe need to be done with someone from FasFarming comunity.
The placing of Metal Legion in D tier has been reported for severe abuse. Shameful.
I dont like Dragons Stand. Not having a skyscale makes the bossfight just a pain.
Also I love this community. That is all.
The Delve is great. The only part I don't like about it is the Turtle walls.
We just need a new turtle mastery that let's you do a cannon barrage for jade battery charges or something.
@@mangoman93 or they just reduce the life so I'm not doing taida 2.0 5times in a meta
dude .... are you wearing a new T-shirt? o.O
The only ember bay meta I know is the Chalice of Tears
Svanir shaman is Kourna on fun tier.
The fun factor of this video is S tier
