I cry everytime I hear this song. Momma has one of her sons with her in heaven. The other will be there before long 😭
A few months ago my Grandma passed away and they played this song at her funeral and it fit her perfectly. She raised eight kids that all turned out good and she was one of the best people that i ever knew in my life and I hope I can be like her!
These two are some of the greatest country musicians in the history of country music
There should be a Hall Of Fame for mothers,,I agree .
Wariner is warranted so much more of a reputation for a great voice and musicianship!
Glen and Steve are in the top 10 guitar players. Steve should do an album of Glens songs
I'm going on my knees this mother's day and singing it for my mom who has done everything for a disgrace like me , love you from the depths of my soul mom ☺️🙏
2 of the BEST singers/players EVER !
This song is definitely a heart felt song that should be dedicated to all of the mothers around the world.
True talent like this can never be duplicated. Thank you for the masterpiece.
Two of the best in the business.
Another perfect way of singing this song... He never changes. xx
I bet Elvis Presley loved this song. He loved his mom so much.
Classic country music as it should be. Two absolutely wonderful singers

Oh how I love these two...and this song...RIP Glen....
I got to know Steve pretty good back in the early
80s.
He played a few times at a club where I worked.
I took my mom backstage to meet him he was so nice to her that anytime he was performing with in 200 of us
I had to take her and when he knew we were the audience he would always play this song and dedicate this song to her.

What a lovely, meaningful song written by Ted Harris who also wrote 'Crystal Chandelier.' A comment below says about Elvis and his Mum which was very true, but surely it's how most men feel as well.
Dedicated to Mom miss you.
One of glens best
What a deadly duel!! Both of these guys are amazing.
He got here red and wrinkled scared and cryin'
Then she took him up and held him to her breast
And he sure was glad to get what mama offered
Then he went to sleep and put his fears to rest
It didn't seem to matter what he needed
He could always count on mama to supply
And regardless of the sleep she might be losin'
He always found a twinkle in her eye
There ought to be a hall of fame for mamas
Creation's most unique and precious pearls
And heaven help us always to remember
That the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world
She taught him all the attributes of greatness
That she knew he couldn't learn away from home
And by the time she wore the cover off her bible
Her hair was gray and her little man was gone
There ought to be a hall of fame for mamas
Creation's most unique and precious pearls
And heaven help us always to remember
That the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world
Yes, the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world
LOVE GLENN MUSIC, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, MAY YOU REST IN PEACE......

Otherwise...PURE PERFECTION.
Who is playing the Steel Guitar in this Video. I love this Song. Glen was great, and with his Mama and Daddy and Jesus Christ.
Good song
I would love to hear Eddy Arnold's original version.
Begging your pardon but this song was written in 1986/7 by Ted Harris and released only by these two artists. It isn't a cover and so I am unsure what song it is you are thinking of, but it isn't this one.
galen stone Eddy Arnold recorded this song first. But for whatever reason, his version wasn't released. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle stayed unheard by the public until this wonderful version was released.
Rusty Wolfe the copyright is dated 1987 so again, idk..
So? Hy much alive and still recording in 1987 and his version was recorded before e this. There's a biography that was published a few years back with a complete Eddy Arnold Discography in the back. I wish I had the book handy -but I don't. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle is most definitely included. If you don't believe he was still recording, it was about 8 years later that LeAnn Rimes' Blue CD was released. One of the cuts on there is the 2nd and last duet he ever did during his career - a great version of Cattle Call. That would've been around 1996 and he cut at least 2 mlore albums after that.
That's all well and good, but it does not mean he recorded the song first. I am a huge Ted Harris fan and I have seen nothing that corroborates the claim that Arnold performed this song originally. If anything he sang it after these two. The fact that it was never released as you claim makes it impossible to prove what you say is true.

Glen Yates jk. Don't know how that comment came about. lol. I think I meant to leave it for 'The hand that rocks the cradle' by the Smiths.
