I moved down South and I discovered that Trade Unions are scarce. I plan to start asking private companies if they are looking to train and hire me as an HEO apprentice... I became interested in heavy equipment after working in factories during covid. I discovered that I not an office person and prefer to be outside and getting physical exercise.

I will be working in mining, so I've no experience, i will be seeing almost everything for the first time and you video have me a relief on few things and I just need more of that for I don't know what the environment will be like.... I'm extremely nervous man.... I really wish someone Could talk me out of it all... You know what I mean!!
My best piece of advice - there are tons of how to operate videos out there. Watch as many as you can to get as familiar as you can with the controls of the machine. This will at least give you some confidence for the first few days of work. Be patient, honest and ready to learn. Nobody wants an operator that doesn't take direction so be willing to to learn and take direction. If your supervisor is decent in any way, they will appreciate the fact you're inexperienced and show you much. You'll do great, just have faith in yourself and tell yourself you can do it!
