We just watched the movie, "Concrete Cowboys", and it was awesome. My wife and I were born in Philly and moved to Florida for over 40 years. Ironically, when we retired we decided to return to the City of Brotherly Love. Thank you for letting us know about this wonderful movie!
Thanks Toon...I admire you both for your great 48 state accomplishment! ....I tell many people about what my friends did and how you did it....Starting out on your trip with a stolen catalytic converter....that sucked but it didn't stop you.
Thanks man. 🤣🤣🤣 yup you got that right. Dam near $1000 for the repair. But we were able to do it. Never give up never surrender. Priceless part is even when we got back to Philly. Like 6 months of being back they tried cutting the cat to my daily vehicle. Smh. But I got to them in time before they can take it. Just had to pay for the welding cost to re connect my cat. Go figure. Have a blessed day 😉💯☮️
your tours are second to none Toon. I have never been to USA and have zero desire to visit USA but i love watching your videos.i love when you point out the graffiti in your tours also
Grew up in Brewery Town, know Strawberry Mansion very well…William Penn High graduate. Thanks for driving me down memory lane through this hood tour. Left Philly in 92 and never looked back lol As usual you did a great job! 👏🏾
I'm loving your tours, especially in the spring when trees look so pretty in bloom. Some of these blocks look pretty good: cared for homes in nice colors, neat grass, no trash on the sidewalk, etc. There are many groups on facebook that post about the hoods with photos, but the comments often get nasty- always people complaining "how nice it was at one time", "how sad it is now" and then you have your nasty political comments and thinly veiled racist comments and so forth. You bring a lot of positivity even though you talk about crime, you say and show some positive things too. Thank you.
At 35:29 you passed my block (3212 W. Arizona st to be exact) 32nd & York threw the BEST block parties (and we crushed the 🏀 league @ 33rd & Diamond. I snuck into the Robin Hood Dell, raced go-karts behind it, went to Roman Catholic, lifeguard at Moylan Rec now Hank Gathers' center (Dawn Staley was there during my time). I remember hearing the roar of fans watching ⚾️ at Connie Mack Stadium before they tore it down. I owe everything to 🍓 Mansion. I moved to MD in '90 but come back for the Penn Relays AND Larry's Belly Filler Cheese steaks (54 & City Line)
@@TOON215 your welcome, now in Philippines 🇵🇭, begun journey back to Philly for my 60th Olney HS reunion in June. Visiting my big brother who is 88 living with his Costa Rican wife of 48 yrs along the Caribbean! I’m a musician playing percussion( Brazilian/ Jazz, pop etc)
Hi Toon215 Thanks for doing what you do...better and more completely than anyone . I grew up N2500 34th Street which runs between W. Cumberland and Huntingdon to Lehigh Ave, it is strange that the 2500-2600 N34th St and Ridge Ave from 33rd to Lehigh Av are excluded from the "official boundary" of "Strawberry Mansion". It is in no man's land? Since you probably know the hoods of Philly better than any other human being, please advise if I'm considered a Mansionite? Grad from R.S. Walton 1958, left for the bikini-filled curves of Southern California at age 17.
Thank you very kindly for your supportive words and sharing your story. Sounds like you had one hell of a adulthood growing up in Cali. Yes sir you would be considered a original strawberry mansion resident. That block of a part of strawberry mansion. 🙏 have a blessed day
Greetings. Thanks for your comment and for supporting the channel. Many blessings to you and yours. Salute and peace. Have a wonderful day 😊 ❤️☮️💯🙌💕🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🔥
I've documented over 100 neighborhoods in Philadelphia. All nationaloties over 600+ videos. I've also documented over 400+ videos covering 48 states in the USA. Some of the most prestigious neighborhoods in america....and some of the rougher areas... race has nothing to do with it, considering I'm dark skinned my self. Have a great day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
