    Bolt that ign module onto the gaurd , + even better add an extra ground wire to it. They pack up without a good solid ground.
    If she's been sitting a decade the fuels likely evaporated out the perished little vent lines on the filler neck. If you can hear the fuel pumps working when you turn the key ...I'd slap 10-20L of premium 98 in. So they arnt roasting themselves, if they work she will probably run and any jelly poo should desolve with some fresh juice splashing about.
    I found a few warm soaking bucket drenchings in cold power and a scrubbing brush to spot scrub any deep old stains. Followed by a pressure wash clean T2B (gently& not to close) air gun off dry.
    Then hang out in the sunshine to dry out fully. Really brings them back to life, colours pop again. Nothing beats pulling the carpet and seats. Cleaning the lot and the bare floor console everything then putting it all back in fresh and clean. Easy to keep it sweet as starting over fresh.
    She's a low K & T5. Only bad thing is not being Atlas Grey 🤤 glad she's getting some TLC. And that vr vs monstrosity front bar is been kicked off & out to the curb.
    Few Paddock rescued VNs on my channel.
    I Love these
    VN supercars.
    Matt Tinkler can piss on some other Welcome pad. Instead of helping starving kids in Yemen I'd rather donate to help get neglected rusting VNs out of Paddock graves and back on the road. Full or club reg. How much do TV advertisements cost anyway? Maybe The Tinkler can stop blowing money on TV adverts and start sending HPR30 ryco filter packs to people fighting vicious spiders flat tyres and snake infested long grass doing gods work downunder. The iron lion + buick mang deserves international charity support.

    Nice find. The VN is my favourite of all the commodore SS models. Atlas grey was the best looking colour for them, IMO.
    Looks like she'll need a radiator fan shroud too.
    Are you getting that roof fully retrimmed? It's a common problem on 2nd generation commodores.

    Every car is worth being on the road in any (safe) condition, than wasting away in a paddock.
    Except camiras..And daewoos..and things of that nature.

    • @DoctorWEBB
      @DoctorWEBB Год назад

      Nothing wrong with Camiras in the paddock.
      My first car age 10 was a JB SL/X manual. It was thrashed every weekend every day some school holidays. Every kid on our road and my bros. & All our combined mates.
      Did handbrakeys, key ups, jumps, reverse doughnuts, burnouts until both front tyres popped (if you could hold your breath long enough) pit manoeuvre and drag racing neighbours kids bombs. If you changed gears just rite without much wheel spin we could get it upto 120km/h on grass in the longest paddock. The Camira even got accross a swampy patch between 2 dams in the valley of the hills , in winter our large 4x4 tractor wouldn't get through without serious bogging. Camira would make it only if you hit the door handle deep mud bog doing at least 80km/h! The roof pillars were so twisted from all the bashing around. Ended up sending it to scrap still running. Only ever Broke 3rd gear in the end while flat changing it in a paddock bomb drag race. The thing had a custom 3inch straight pipe exhaust and diy cold air intake lol it sure loved to rev. Absolutely singing thru the gears with handbrake on until the fronts blew off or i got smoked out. Theres a Video of unbreakable camira on my yt ...crank the sound!!
      I sure Miss that old beast

      @DoctorWEBB 11 месяцев назад

      Painfully slow lump??
      The old iron lion moves alright. And it has the best sounding roar. In a light weight VN the power to weight is decent. Getting traction and going around corners is more of an issue than going fast. With standard brakes , suspension , cheese cutter orig wheels & tyres the 5.0L is powerful enough to get into plenty of trouble.
      or impounded plenty fast enough.

    Sounds like it's got a dead cylinder when cranking, probably a valve stuck open. I'd be pulling the covers before you do it again. Make sure you check the oil pressure. Holden v8's can fail to pick up oil if they have been sitting for a long time because the pump gears dry out.
