I'm an ok skater from the 90s and it's super cool to see women's skateboarding come so far. Most women sports really. Always going to be haters but that helps make success that much better.

I’m a skater 50 years old. I’m beyond stoked to see it. Women got fuct bro back in the day. One reason for so much of their unhappiness is a lack of hobby. If they were pushed like they are now to get involved in activities create a hobbit, so many women would have so much more of a fulfilling life. It’s never too late. But I’m glad to see women in all forms of past male dominated sports. Plus they’re ripping man. I support 100%.

These skaters typically don’t wear any pads during practice and fall a lot; imagine falling at full speed sprint from that height of 5 to 8 feet and figuring out how to land without cracking your skull open and breaking many bones. it’s also very rare for women skaters to go this hard; I’m not saying they can’t, but very few do it at her level of finesse and skill.

This makes me very proud. I was 12 years old when I got my first skateboard in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, in the 80s. At the time, the mayor of SP declared skateboarding illegal within the city limits. However, the spirit of skateboarding would not let us accept this calmly. We took to the streets, even skateboarding, spreading stickers saying “skateboarding is not a crime” or “Skateboarding: a citizen’s right and a duty of the State”. And, of course, running away from the police haha. Worth it!

I remember here in Brazil her first time going to the Olympics, she was only 9 at that time. The city she lived in, the government didnt helped her with money, because they didnt care about sports... So her family raised a fund and sent videos via social midia asking for help... She went to the Olympics and got the gold medal for the country 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and for herself, her family and everyone who supported her!

Watching the progression of women’s skateboarding is just so awe inspiring. There’s just no way to ignore that breaking through to this level of skateboarding tricks involves gnarly slams over and over. Front blunt on a rail, kick flip front board, either one and your toast if not fully commited. Bravo
@@TBone-o6bbro the rate of progression in women's skating in the last five years is crazy much faster than the men, obviously they are not at that level yet but the progression is crazy. They used to score the girls on the same gradient as the men, I don't know why the stopped it helped that progression, if so this run is mid to high 7 which is still higher than alot of the men scored.

Watching the progression of women’s skateboarding is just so awe inspiring. There’s just no way to ignore that breaking through to this level of skateboarding tricks involves gnarly slams over and over. Front blunt on a rail, kick flip front board, either one and your toast if not fully commited. Bravo

@@TBone-o6bbro the rate of progression in women's skating in the last five years is crazy much faster than the men, obviously they are not at that level yet but the progression is crazy.
They used to score the girls on the same gradient as the men, I don't know why the stopped it helped that progression, if so this run is mid to high 7 which is still higher than alot of the men scored.
