I started working with Ozone 9 just recently and love it. It can do very subtle changes if you need but can also go radical. The latter is good when I want to understand where my mix is weak. So, I go back to it, fix the problems, and then come back to Ozone for a subtle mastering.
I’ve been using izotopes full suite for some time now. It’s the real deal. Latest innovations particularly help my aging ears, I’m looking at you tonal control!.
Thanks for the video! I got the free version some months back so I don't have a lot of the features found in this video, but what I do have, this has helped demystify a lot of what I was looking at when using the plug in!
Thanks for reviewing Ozone Chris. I've been using it since version 7 and have 8 and have been thinking of upgrading to 9. After your review, looks like I will.
Again another great video. I jumped on the Black Friday Elements bundle 1 week ago. What a great package and complement to my CB PRO 10.5 and Wavelab 10 Elements. Now if I can't produce "acceptable" music means that "I" am my main problem ... Ha Ha Ha!
Great video Chris As part of Izotopes loyalty scheme ,and in their sale. I have bought an upgrade bundle deal, and saved a lot, cannot wait to explore all the new tools,ha,ha
I am Lovjng Cubase 10.5 except for the times it just hangs when opening certain plugins... izotope Ozone 9 being one of them. Can’t wait for an update . I live Studio One as well but my heart is always with Cubase. 20years with this bastard .
Thanks Chris, I've been using Ozone for a while but an older version! Lots of new interesting features in this one, mainly utilities that will save us a lot of time for processes we used to do manually like Track referencing and such. Some interesting novelties like the Vocal/Bass/Drums control that like you said might be used in situations when you don't have access to the original mix, because I agree it's always better to work on the mix tracks for such purposes. So as I said I like Ozone, and I would like to know what Mastering platform you like to use yourself, if you don't mind telling me or aren't bound legally not to! Finally you cracked me up at the beginning, actually Chris it is "Mieux vaut tard que jamais" to be 100% correct :D Peace and thanks again! (y)
Hey Nagi! Happy you like the video :-) To answer your question, when I master, I usually work in Cubase and using plugins from Meter Plugs, FabFilter, Plugin Alliance, UAD. But I have to say that I really like the user experience and sound on working with Ozone. So maybe my mastering workflow will change now ;-)
Great video. I have a question. I see that you use Ozone as an insert on the audio track. My question is : should'nt be used as an insert on the master bus of your cubase project?
Hi Chris I hope you are doing well. you can call me JB I bought 4K Tv 55 inch and i am using it as my monitor. I set my scaling on 150% and display resolution is 3840 x 2160 recommended I managed to fix high DPI setting for almost all my softwares including cubase 10 but when i insert wave plugins on my cubase 10, waves plugins cannot open with a correct scaling. And it only happen on cubase 10 How to fix them
Same problem here... Set your scalling at 100%, with a 55" TV that resolution will be ok. Some plugins like Waves have a hard time working with DPI active at a higher scale than 100% on Windows.
Your views are always great to watch.... But i was wondering, when you say "interesting" does this mean you not sure yet or just don't want to say anything negative. Just wondered. I have used Ozone for a while but sometimes find dedicated plugins are better suited for final mix or master and I have even used a combo of Ozone and other plugins. As you say Ozone can be a great starting point.
It did the same here, but only for vst2 plugins, all vst2.4 and vst3 are working fine. Check in Plugin Manager--VST Effects, Ozone 9 VST3 plugins should be there.
Great video! Now this is just a joke, but you pronounced it “D.A.W." instead of “daw” which I agree with, but then you pronounced it “gooey” instead of “G.U.I” lol
Chris, some day when the human brain evolves plugins will be able to MATCH exactly a reference song instead of coming approximately close to the original sound of the reference song. At that point ..... all professional engineers won't be needed since anyone will be able to master their songs with the click of a few buttons. Don't believe me ?? Think about this... just 200 years ago no one on Earth thought Airplanes, telephones, computers, space satellites and cars would ever exist. Evolution proved them wrong.

How do you save a certain preset setting template after a Mastered MIX ?
Thx😎✌
Great review and tutorial Chris!! I'm going to use some of this information with my mixes. Thanks very much!!
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video! I got the free version some months back so I don't have a lot of the features found in this video, but what I do have, this has helped demystify a lot of what I was looking at when using the plug in!
Awesome 👏 brother....what you speak we understand...that’s the great thing 👍
Thanks for reviewing Ozone Chris. I've been using it since version 7 and have 8 and have been thinking of upgrading to 9. After your review, looks like I will.
Cool thing :-) Thanks!
Beautiful songs and beautiful tutorial.

Hi Chris, thanks for this walkthrough ;-)
I am Lovjng Cubase 10.5 except for the times it just hangs when opening certain plugins... izotope Ozone 9 being one of them.
Can’t wait for an update .
I live Studio One as well but my heart is always with Cubase.
20years with this bastard .

Great Information buddy. Can you make Video On How to Add Depth in Vocals In Mixing?? Please really want that .

Chris, How is Ozone vs Wavelab in you opinion? Its hard to find comparison reviews between them... And between RX8 vs SpectraLayers7...
Hi! What difference it makes in the sound, when you choose low medium high intensity ? Does it also effect Equalizer?
Now THIS is how to do a video - THANK YOU !!! Do you have one for Neutron 3?
Thanks! I never worked with Neutron 3 yet!
Its really really help full bro
Awesome :-)
Question! If I have set a "Match EQ", does that mean I do not need Equilizer 1 or 2?
Love your vids. Why isnt there much talk about the panning features in Cubase?
Check this one out ;-) ruclips.net/video/4s0lFzgs-JU/видео.html
Great video. I have a question. I see that you use Ozone as an insert on the audio track. My question is : should'nt be used as an insert on the master bus of your cubase project?
That depends, in my case, my Cubase project is a Mastering project only so I use it as an insert of that one audio file I need to master.
@@mixdownonline Thanks for your answer!
Does ozone have harmonization like nectar 3??
Does ozone fade out and fade in
hey chris

Hi Chris, I don't know why I can't resize my Ozone 9 window, I also can't figure out how to make Ozone a stand alone. Thanks!

Hey cubase 10 blacklist all my ozone9 plugin how is you getting around this problem

Thanks Chris ... Comme on dit ... Mieux vaut Taure que Vache LOL
LOL!
Do you speak french. Me I understand english, but I speak, read french better... Try it
Yes I do. Un Canadien français :-)
I haven't been impressed by any iZotope products, and always thought they were mostly conceived for amateurs and children.

@@mixdownonline Done deal.
Ozone never again, plastic, wannabe sound.
