As a busy, full time medical professional, with a decades-long passion for music, I can’t believe how professional-sounding my mixes are turning out. Aside from work, my time is divided into sleep, wife, family, exercise, golf and music production. In my limited spare time it’s amazing to have tools from Izotope (and others) that can teach me a ton of info, theory and technique, to allow me to level-up my production skills, We’ve come a long way since those old drum machines and standalone sequencers back in the 80s/90s!!

I’ve been using Ozone since 2011. It’s been an amazing tool in my sonic arsenal. It took a few years to really understand how to use it properly and for those of you out there just starting with it, always remember that small tweaks make drastic changes. It’s easy to over process things when you’re starting out. The presets are good starting points for most mixes but always need changes to suit your target sound
guys ur the best, I love Ozone 9 and Nectar 2. It's absolutely best mastering plugin. I couldn't mix and master at the profesional level for my customers without the help your plugs!
I'm always so surprised at how pessimistic and plainly whiny the comment sections are on sound production tools. We as customers have 100% say in where we spend our money, and companies try to price themselves competitively given what they bring to the table. If they don't price their product well, they'll suffer for it, and that's that. iZotope, though, holy shit. They're building tools that nobody can compete with. The workflow and output improvements that their newest Neutron and Ozone tools bring are insane. You could take a complete novice, have them throw Neutron on each of their stems and let the suite hold their hand through the mixing process, then have it automatically give them a tailored master with Ozone, and you'd be hard-pressed to harshly criticize the outcome. That's ridiculous. How much do you think it costs to find incredibly talented engineers to dream up and build cutting edge sonic tech? Genius doesn't just arise from the ether.

Magic EQ and Curve Matching inside Ozone 9 seems OK. It's an old stuff actually and I use ProAudio DSP DSM now in version 3. Amazing tool! Of course that Ozone is far more diversified and more tools and options but DSM v3 eats it for breakfast. Sorry iZotope, I love you all girls&boys and I do have Ozone (btw, thanks for v8 as a free gift the other day) but it seems it's all getting like: "give me more, faster, easier etc..." but in the process it all looses the point and quality in audio file as a final product. I am in no way saying Ozone is not good. It's just a tool that replaces many aspects of profession and thus affects the overall quality of final music and music production. I can't shake that feeling! Congrats on your new version anyway!

Harmony Smurf Heck, use this and add your pixie dust and the client will love it. The mix will be complete in an hour instead of 3 hours. The tonal balance bundle is a bargain. Not just for the cost of the software, but think of the time saved.
Hi just bought the upgrade. With the rebalance (focus) feature you can only select ONE focus area right? The interview suggests that you can change all three simultaneously, I did not find that to be the case. As soon as I move one area to say +1 dB, all focus sliders move to + 1 dB. This behaviour is correct right?

As I age, I find the IZotope software particularly difficult to see in studio lighting. I've requested many times (in writing) that they do what Studio One did and make the background adjustable so users can choose a background that isn't so hard on the eyes. Once again this version ignores the request. I've been a good customer, gave them tons of my hard earned money, and faithfully upgraded many times. This is the year we part ways. Having said that, I have just upgraded to Ozone 9 and looking forward to making the best use of it...
Asking mixing engineer to fix sounds too beurocratic when it can take for you to fix in few seconds. It may even sound better that way.
what if the client doesn't want to schedule/pay for a new revision of the mix ( time could be also a restraint )? The mastering engineer can make subtle adjustments if need it with the touch of a fader from inside Ozone.
wow
As I age, I find the IZotope software particularly difficult to see in studio lighting. I've requested many times (in writing) that they do what Studio One did and make the background adjustable so users can choose a background that isn't so hard on the eyes. Once again this version ignores the request. I've been a good customer, gave them tons of my hard earned money, and faithfully upgraded many times. This is the year we part ways. This software is expensive and they do not listen to their customers.
But but low contrast "looks cool".
Is it me that don't get it or Izotope are the most advanced and clever plugin designer in the industry? I mean by A LONG shot?
izotope misleads on pricing... to get all they advertise in these reviews you have to buy advanced version... its $499USD not the $249 they claim. that is for the step down.
Izotope Ozone 9 Advanced is on sale at Sweetwater right now for $199. Regular price $599.
Ya, never any bug fix updates... just more paid upgrades. The money machine spins again.
what bugs are there? I havent encountered any.
wait how is this even possible?
nope, the bass, gained the kick in the low end. just alittelbitt thoo...
