I felt the same way growing up. I was born in 1979. Shout At The Devil came out before I was in Kindergarten. I'm glad now that I live in this era because of all the technology. With the internet bands like Motley Crue and Black Sabbath will NEVER be forgotten.
well I'll tell you this in summer of 83 I drove down to LA sunset strip with my band from the bay area and at 16 and immediately we were gigging. I was a huge Metallica fan back then, and everywhere was a party, and most of the Party was standing in line getting into the clubs. But at 16 if I wasn't in a band I wouldn't be able to get in those clubs. I was there in Summer 83, 84, and 85. Went back in 96 and It was all gone. I really can't tell you what happen in the 80's there. What happen in the 80's stays in the 80's. it was all Excess.
This is seriously priceless, my god man what I wouldn't give to have been there. Great song too, I've always felt this was one of their best, it's unfortunate it never made it to the record.
Dale Peck You’re mistaken, sir. It was the b-side of the “stick to your guns” 45. “Stick to your guns” was on the original “Leathur” release of “Too fast for love”, but was left off of the elektra release. “Toast of the town” was on neither.
Well, it is on the re-release of TFFL, along with the original Leathur records mix, which IMO is the better version. That's all I listen to. Can't remember the last time I listened to the Elektra version.
Toast Of The Town is the B-Side off the Stick To Your Guns 7" single which came out on April 24th 1981. I have a original copy and it's worth some coin.
North Hollywood 1983, The Country Club in Reseda, Queensryche live, Loudness live, MSG/Schenker live, Rainbow Bar & Grill on Sunset Blvd, Riverside Mkt on Riverside Drive, Wacko on Melrose Ave. Sherman Oaks Galleria, Great Memories. Never again. J.
If there are stairs going up to the left of the stage, it's the Whisky. Stairs to the right is the Starwood. No stairs, who knows. Woodsound in Monrovia? What was that club in Van Nuys on Sherman Way & Reseda Blvd? Struggled there after show with this girl for Micks smashed Black & Diamond Les Paul until security said, "On 3, both let go." On 3, I let go. She didn't. Security guy looked at me and said, "You lose," then walked away.
It was never on the album, except as a bonus track on the late 90’s CD reissue of Too Fast For Love. Before that it was only ever available on the original ‘81 vinyl single, as the B-side. That single is fuckin HYPER-rare. I’ve only ever known one person who had it.
Loads of drugs, alcohol etc… but Vince sounded good live till about 93 tbh, even in 97 he dosent sound bad but after that is where he hardly finishes any lyrics or …
I've heard some of it. . Pretty good stuff, but they sounded like a hundred other bands. Motley were only good for two records, but they had their own thing going on back then. Better songs, but not musicianship. At the end of the day, heavy metal is pretty stupid. Bubblegum wins. Oh, and I saw Y&T open for the Theatre of Pain tour. I know...not the best years for either band...
I would seriously give up my life to be able to experience the 80's in hollywood I was born in 96 and now I am stuck in this stupid ass era

It was glorious !!!!! Sorry everyone should have had that experience !!! 🤘🏻
98 haha and yeah i agree
Hello person from 2011-2012, it hasn’t gotten much better. At all.
They definitely got more famous, but they were never as good as this era
I'm surprised at how well Vince sounds here. He doesn't stop in the middle of a verse here.
Too Fast is their best IMO. Shout is great but every song off of Too fast is amazing
AWW BABY CRUE!
When they were young and hungry. Vince never sounded so good.
This is seriously priceless, my god man what I wouldn't give to have been there. Great song too, I've always felt this was one of their best, it's unfortunate it never made it to the record.

@@DennisAlvey It is, indeed, that re-release of Too Fast was the first time I ever heard "Toast". I believe it was '99?
Please don’t take Our Lord’s Name in vain. It’s pretty insane seeing this footage from 1981! Can’t imagine how it felt for those present at this show.
For real micks solo is too damn good

Yeah I remember when they were giving those out at the shows. Had one myself once..
That was totally cool thanks.
This is amazing! Too Fast is my favorite album and it's so bad that they rarely play this song alive.
The mannequin audience was a nice touch.
Songs reminds me of Cheap Trick in such a great way one of my favorite buried gems from the Crue.

Did Vince really not skip a lyric in this?????
He didn't seem to! But the backing vocals were on a tape

great song, it shouldve stayed on the album like it was on the demo

Probably the last time Vince sang an entire line of the lyrics
The Starwood in ‘81 , good times.
OJALA UN BUEN SAMARITANO ARREGLARA EL SONIDO
reminds of the band Sweet.
Mars’s solo is so good here bruh
@crueland dear owner of this channel, if your read this, please, reply, I really need to ask you something. Please, respond.
If I’m not mistaken, this was their 2nd ever gig (or so I’ve been told).
@planetboom it was the starwood
@Vomitore starwood dude
Hell Yeah Man Feel The Same Way
It was called The Rock!
clazzic
@planetboom this is most likely the 24th april , not so sure about that , but i can tell you this is definetly at the starwood .
Why'd it get cut off mid solo?
TOAST! wohooo heheheeeeeey kid
At first, I thought Nikki was standing there in his underwear HAHA.
Me too 😂😂😂😂
Yeah hes in shorts oddly enough i think he wore shorts on the dr feelgood tour overall shorts when they were popular back in 90s
Im here because of Larry.
Well where the hell is the rest of it
great video! Rare I say
How is it possible that they got worse with time...
Loads of drugs, alcohol etc… but Vince sounded good live till about 93 tbh, even in 97 he dosent sound bad but after that is where he hardly finishes any lyrics or …
@bambamh20 starwood i think
Why are they half naked?
Just don’t Ask it’s the 80’s that explains it
@planetboom and the year will be 1981 .
Y&T(Yesterday and Today), put these guys to shame musically. Motley had the looks, Y&T had the heavy sounds. Over and out.
Motley had way better songs, but lacked the muscianship
Better songs? Really? Did you even witness Y&T back in the day? Talking 1977-83. The Golden years

Oh, and I saw Y&T open for the Theatre of Pain tour. I know...not the best years for either band...
Well, you sound like the music expert, so I defer to you. Over and out
y and t were a great hard rock band and some great songs but just seemed to lack that "true rock star " quality that motley had from the start.
