The fact that mick literally approached Vince in the bathroom, and said "I like you a lot" just cracks me up because I love Mötley Crüe so much because their story's and music has really kept me going while I thought I was never able to.
Not me, I used brown paper bags and then drew my own art on them. And no, the teachers didn't over-reach as they do today. So there was no problems. There was a time when teachers had morals and ethics.....they actually did what they were hired to do. Teach a subject. Nothing more, nothing less. It was early 80,s thats what I'm talking about. Graduated 1984.
Yes even thru all of their visual and musical changes with each album , they still seemed genuine in what they were doin..The West Coast Explosion of the early 80s in LA on the sunset strip was something to behold..to be a fly on the wall back then
Way cool. Glad I stumbled across this. Wish is was the ACTUAL original Leathur records recordings. Nikki sounds as prolific then as now. Awesome. Before the internet this is how bands did it. Flyers and local radio stations.
I've never heard the Leathur versions, other than the 2 on the Helter Skelter pic disc. I didn't notice a ton of difference. I hear more edits on the Elektra one
I was 9 years old in a small town in GA. No MTV yet no rock stations. Listening to Glen Campbell's rhinestone cowboy..... Didn't hear of the Crue UNTIL 1986. ...... THEY SHOULD HAVE COVERED RINESTONE COWBOY
Outstanding. Motley’s first two records can be filed in the GREAT category. And we must not forget the outstanding work of producer Tom Werman on Shout and many other killer albums. Werman is a genius and sadly gets very little mention.
In their early days they combined a punk cool with a bubblegumy garage sound and a look that was amazing. I actually first had Shout album which my mom threw away every time I bought it. Theatre Of Pain was lousy and they toned it down so much that they attracted the preppies that always threatened me in school. My brother was one of those preps and once took my Shout album away claiming that they were gay and I was too if I liked them. Then he liked them in 1986 when they released Theatre. Home Sweet Ughhh......
Cool stuff. I wonder what that track is they play at the intro when introducing the band. It sort of sounds like a rough version of something that turned into Black Widow.
I liked Crue on Too Fast but when Shout came out I fucking flipped I was 18 and Shout was the Metal phase of Crue and is still my go to if I wanna listen to them . Nothing after hit me like Shout not a crud song on that record . Dr. Feelgood the song kinda brought me back to that time but it wasn't the whole record , didn't deliver on that unfortunately . I always wished they had stayed Metal but Nikki's plan worked to perfection for them so that's now all History . FUCKING LOVED THE 80'S AND ALL THE GREAT BANDS AND MUSIC ! Dokken , Ratt and Crue got me through what I thought were bad times back then but looking back it wasn't that bad but the music still has that effect & that power , of it all .... IMHO !!
Reece Schrock I have a lot of rare old Crue bootlegs and interviews on cassette tapes. Been slowly concerting them to digital. I also have the very first show they did at the Starwood in Feb of ‘81. Not good quality tho but its historic for sure. I need to upload it.
Well I appreciate it. Do you have the 1987 interview with Tommy and Nikki getting interviewed on the air and they start smoking hash, nikki snorts a line and Tommy starts humping the mic. Nikki said he thinks he got the dj fired.
@@JimmyAdcock Hi, if you have the interview which Reece mentioned, according to "Heroin Diaries" is from 22nd October 1987, i will be so grateful to you if you upload it and write a comment with link. (it is interview with Joey Vendetta where they snorting, drinking and do some crazy shits) ;-) And nice job with posting this interview.
@McKinley Mitchell as soon as they got signed to Elektra. He was Alan Coffman, their first manager. Read "The Dirt". It's nothing like that piece of crap movie.
I wonder if admitting Coffman was a “fifth member” ever came back to bite them in the ass? I love Motley but only a fanboi wouldn’t admit that they screwed him over once things started getting big and Doc made his appearance. They’ve screwed a lot of people in the name of money and like everything else have gotten away with the smallest repercussions possible.
Motley only sounds good on their recordings. They sound like shit live. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I saw them live a few times back in the Shout,Theater & Girls era. Those tours took place between 1983 thru 1987. But they just never impressed me live. They sounded bad. Not kidding either. Their albums sound great tho....I'll give them that.

I used to use crue posters as book protectors/covers in middle school, they had the coolest look and were genuine.
Were the teachers on your case?
Not me, I used brown paper bags and then drew my own art on them.

Mick approaching him in the bathroom "I like you a lot " - awkward 🤣
Vince's unique voice
This was awesome! So good to hear Uncle Joe Benson too. Haven't heard from him since "The Sound" went off the air on November 16, 2017....

It's "Starry Eyes"
Yes I was going to say "Starry Eyes". That entire first album is fire 🔥
New album I bet this band is going to make it big. They'll fire the singer and bring him back cause fans will be pissed.
