She married a man double her age and wanted the comfy life. She married him for the money and doesn’t want his child in the picture (even though she sits at home all day) as she wants all the resources to herself. A nanny would be cheaper for him than a wife. Why you acting like she had no choice in all this? She married him!
Reading in-between the lines here (and jumping to a lot of conclusions). They married when she was 20. Sounds like he went through his horrible divorce and decided to pick up a young trophy wife. She probably hasn't gone to college or established a career. He has been in a court battle for YEARS and has a high profile lawyer. Sounds like he is dragging his ex through the ringer. If she decides to divorce him, I can't imagine what will go through his head. He will be in another divorce and custody battle. That concerns me. This woman knows nothing about his finances, has no finances of her own and probably isn't very employable. If she decides to divorce she needs to surround herself with family and get prepared for a long battle ahead.

A terrible petty control freak that stops at nothing sounds like. Her lack of employability and finances might work in her advantage, as in he has nothing to take. On the other hand, it can work for him as he may be better able to provide financially, although his court battles don't speak for him being a great father. At 20ish she was certainly naive and easy to manipulate, that's why insecure old dudes like this one pick them. She needs to become much more strategic to get out of this nightmare. Kind of like what Tom Cruise's ex wife Katie did, but she was advised by her father who's a lawyer. Would love an update on this.

Well he's not blood related so sadly I agree with her on this. He's the father and blood related to that child so it should be his responsibility. Divorce is sad in general but it's not her child technically.

A man is hiding stuff from his wife. Marriage is a partnership and behind his wife’s back he is trying to get custody of his son without talking about it with his wife. Huge issues in a marriage. Huge lack of trust and respect. Never a good idea. Also sad she bursts into tears when asked ‘are you safe’. This ladies, is why we women need financial independence. I got scared when she said ‘stay at home mom’ (not criticizing her bcs I am one, but it creates issues when you want to leave a marriage but feel like you can’t)

That is not the issue. I feel that could be talked about and worked on if her husband really cared badly about both son and wife. Problem is her husband never bothered talking about it with her and acts like a boss who can do whatever he wants without consulting his wife, treating his wife like a second class citizen. That is the real issue. She is a guest in her own home. A home that probably does not feel like hers.
Question... If she's a stay at home mom and HE wants custody of anither child how does he see the upbringing of that child. And if she leaves him how hard and long will he fight for custody of their children?
Has she been "recruited" as his new wife so he has more chance of full custody and will he do the same with a next wife?

She was 20 years old and found a 45 year old making 400k. Settled for a 25 year old age gap dreaming stars of 50k vacations and being a millionaire and could safely divorce and take some of it. Husbands going through a midlife crisis and found an attractive 20 year-old and settled with her wanting the money. Didn’t work out how either expected probably .

I know someone who would threaten a break up over every small thing especially when they were in the wrong. The good one in that relationship got out and the one always ranting about "divorce" is getting sued for having their dog chase kids and neighbors trying to kill them when they are trying to go to school and work. For those wondering the reason john asks if women are safe sometimes is because when a lot of messed up things are going on in a marriage or a wife is very uninformed of whats going on in a lot of areas and the woman never asks questions or directly confronts the person she was comfortable with enough to marry and sleep with, it can be a sign of violence or the threat of violence.

ANNULMENT!!! There is another younger lady on here where their home was raided shortly after marriage and her husband is much older than her as well. He told her they would get their stuff back and that it has happened before.
While he shouldn’t hide any debts , I can see why as it seems like she is selfish and obviously doesn’t support her husband being close to his son. Only cares about her and her kids . She’s a stay at home Mom while he works to support their family and not abandon his son. He’s trying to be a good dad and not abandon his son. I have no sympathy for her at all. He’s better off without her.

This car takes me back to my relationship where the guy had a kid we were engaged, and it broke off, but these step parent situations people think it’ll be fine but there’s so many conflicts and so much irritation that often goes on between kids, husband, and wife. It actually works well pretty rarely.
A 25 year age difference- wow. Seems like she wanted a daddy and not a husband. And he wanted someone he could control. She has no power in this relationship. I think these guys dropped the ball by not asking about her/their kids. How old are they? They’ve only been married for three years so probably babies or toddler. What a mess.
