She has sung so well and performed so good in many productions. But this was not a Salome to remember. Sad to hear that added vibrato.
Ljuba Welitsch used vibrato and she sung under Strauss himself, so I don't quite get your point. Do you believe Wagner and Strauss should be sung without any vibrato?
@@DucDeE With all respect. Ofcourse i am aware of L. W. singing a superb Salome. Have now, again, listen to all her recordings/ clips in that role. How can you say she had a vibrato? It is a glittering in her voice as it should be and i think Maestro Strauss was delighted. NOTHING of the vibrato A. G. smears over her singing here.

Я конечно не профессионал, но очень люблю оперу и регулярно посещаю в Москве Большой театр. Была на премьере Саломеи в исполнении Григорян. У неё прекрасные вокальные данные! Чего не скажешь о самой опере. Меня не зацепила ни одна музыкальная фраза, если они там вообще есть.

thanks to the sound engineer of recoding, they turned her volume up to 300% of her real volume in the concert hall. scream and shout still sound like a mosquito. i was there in the audience. an evening of hardly audible vocal and mediocrity. BTW, in case you didn’t notice : she cannot finish even one phrase without looking at her ipad.
