I'm 74 now Kieran a northerner consider my self still now a top class club angler and everyone that sees my tackle set up which is exactly like yours I get are you cak handed mate . I've hand a pole since Kevin Ashurst so looked how he did it and I did the seem .so its nice to see I'm not the only cak handed angler lol. Great video thanks keep them coming.
Great watch! Busy busy busy! Nice to win in such a manner. I was surprised how quickly you flick the jigga up and down - I'll have to try that. I find that match fishing is more knackering than the fell running racing I've been doing most of my life - a busy match does me in - though it doesn't help being 60. More of the same please Kieran.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Give it a try next time you are out on the bank fishing the jigga it can work really well with that fast lift and drop on your stop. Tight lines
I was on jacks pleasure fishing peg 7 a few weekends ago and it was unbelievable shallow sport fishing maggots long catching huge ide 2lb some Of them. Amazing place. Ohh my picture on here is from Weston too 😂 😊
Hi Kieran , great vid loved it , knowing jacks pool it can be difficult for shipping pole can I ask how you set up rollers so your whole 16m didn’t roll forward at that height and no sock please
Hi I set one roller up so it was on top of the fence then another roller on the mud bank behind but I kept the legs shut on this so the roller sat low then on my roller closest to me I put a bungee strap round it to stop it rolling so when I ship back it holds on the roller and stops it rolling forward. Hope this helps
Hi Kevin, My margin setup was the 18-20 heavy red slik elastic to 0.23 power micron main line down to a 4inch 0:18 power micron hooklength with a size 14s hook. Float was a .4 matrix power margin float shotted with 6 number 8 Stotz as a bulk above your hooklength. Hope this helps
Hi Brian, I Normally feed about 2/3pints casters the first half hour priming my line up before I drop on it then once I drop on the line cut the feeding back slightly. Hope this helps
Great video, was on pegs 3 & 4 two weeks ago with my daughter, we had everything down the edge on corn, my daughter had 5 big F1s in last 20 minutes just a foot from the peg in the margin, fantastic fishing!
Kieran there is no point switching if you are catching like you were doing on the dibber short at the outset correct ? You switched from dibber (catching 1 a chuck) to jigga caught nothing on jigga and went to f1 shalla, I dont see why you changed to the Jigga and from the dibber at all...?
Hi Julien, I switched from the long lash dibber to the jigga very early in that match because I know there is a really good mix of f1s and ide in this lake I know I was catching an ide every chuck on the long lash dibber but sometimes you can pick the jigga up and catch them f1s that’s sit a bit deeper under the ide and sometimes sit in with the ide but because you are lowering your rig in on a jigga it’s not as effective for the ide and better for the f1. Granted it did not work during that match but on another day this could have worked and you would have picked out the better stamp fish. Later in the video once I switched to pellets the long lash dibber was no good and the jigga deep jigga was really good this was just because there was a lot of f1s come into my peg. In hindsight I should have just got my head down and fished for ide for the first 3 hours but this is all hindsight if I go back onto this lake in the future this will be definitely something I will have learned for next time. Hope this helps
@@Kieranmarsdenangling ah i see and I presume the f1's are a better stamp i get it thanks for the explanation, bigger is better after all. Its not a crit but sometimes for us mere mortals trying to keep up with how you pro's think is difficult as you are like three steps ahead of us.
Hi KIeran, Iwatched you Jigging, and you're doing far too fast, Ibeen on plenty of venues, and when the fish start feeding shallow, then the Jigger will by far out fish any standard shallow rig, it just that you were doing too fast. PS, thats excluding the over shotted rig, which should be band,!!!!!.x

@@Kieranmarsdenangling Thanks Kie , I’ll try the Bungee method 👍🏻 keep up the good work
Top work from one of the best!! Surely matrix needs to update your mx4 to mx5???? 😂
Glad you enjoyed the video Richard I have both poles the mtx5 and mtx4 and I love them both
@@Kieranmarsdenangling 👍👍 great to see your approach to winning a match without concentrating on the big fish.
Nice fishing Kie 👌
Thank you very much
great video with lots of good info, what was your rig set up for the margin kieran ? look forward to next video

Great video Keren when you was priming your shallow line for half hour wat qty of casters did you use
Hi Brian,
I Normally feed about 2/3pints casters the first half hour priming my line up before I drop on it then once I drop on the line cut the feeding back slightly.

What size oellets were you feeding on the shallow line ?
Hi Lee,
I was feeding 4mm fishery pellets with a 6mm pellet in the band.
@@Kieranmarsdenangling
Cheers mate, great video btw learnt a lot from it
Kieron can I ask one more question, how long do you leave it between feeding your swims ?
😂😂😂😂😂 legend 🎣👌
Thanks boss
How many pints of caster would you have got through if did not switch to pellets?
Hi Colin,
Probably about 6pints casters for the full match if I fished casters front to back.
Great video, was on pegs 3 & 4 two weeks ago with my daughter, we had everything down the edge on corn, my daughter had 5 big F1s in last 20 minutes just a foot from the peg in the margin, fantastic fishing!
Was he using the mtx4 v1 or v2 today ?
Hi Peter,
It was the mxt4 v2 I was using
Hi what pole are you using and any short sections or shallow kits
Hi I am using the MTX4 V2 with a shot 3 and a short kit.
Is that the old original MTX4 or the MTX4 v2?
Hi I was using the new v2 MTX4
Same as me keiron left handed then swithch to right handed when down to top kit lol
You know what the say about left handers mate (special talents) 😅

wonder if he asked for a reweigh
Really wanted to watch this as he's an amazing angler but i couldn't handle the 'to be fair' x1000...it's just me, i have a problem to be fair.
I watched you, you're doing it far too fast, I've been, it's just, these are the spelling corrections.
