This movie includes Captain America (Chris Evans), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Superman (Brandon Routhe), plus a cameo from The Punisher (Thomas Jane). Lots of super heroes
@@wufners Most of these were post-Scott Pilgrim. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World came out in 2010. Captain America: the First Avengers was 2011, Legion and The Lego Batman Movie were 2017, and Birds of Prey was 2020.
Likable Unlikable Protagonist: The Movie I see it as taking shots at gamers. You always see yourselves in the good guy protagonist? Now here’s a mirror of all you ‘nice guy’ gamers, this movie is for everyone who relates to every other character *but* Scott and so every supporting and side character is amazing while he’s the sterotypical privileged main character syndrome dude where everything in life seems to magically work out in his favor. But then, like, make him endearing anyway.
This is the most comic book/arcade game like movie I have ever seen. Canada’s own Michael Cera was the perfect choice to play Scott Pilgrim. Edgar Wrights cinematography and direction is great. The music and soundtrack are so good.
I watched that movie in cinema with a female friend of mine when it came out. At the end she was like: "That was so unrealistic!" Me: "Well I did warn you that it is a comic book movie and therefore kinda over the top." Her: "No, not that. It's completely unrealistic that a guy like him would get so many hot girlfriends!" Took me really by surprise. XD
The cartoon on Netflix isn't an adaptation so much as it's an alternate story. It's pretty faithful to the original... until something plays out differently and then it's completely different. Also they got pretty much the entire cast of the movie back to voice act for it.
Fun fact, in the original script/filming Knives did end up back with Scott, but the initial test audiences they showed it too reacted very negatively to that, so they redid the ending.
Pretty awesome that you recognized they they were doing a Bollywood reference. Most reactors have absolutely no clue that's why Matthew Patel is singing and doing choreography in the middle of the fight. You're pretty smart Blue.
Yeah, I agree. Knives really got a raw deal out of this. I mean even when Scott was "happy" with her he was like mooching off her completely. Making HER pay at the arcade?? That was a douche move too. lol.
@@CoL_Drake Yeah it just kinda feels like Scott doesn't actually grow in any way to make him get with Knives. I mean Knives IS technically "the rebound girl" that Scott is with just to NOT be alone. He doesn't actually have any romantic feelings for her. Also that alternate ending paints Knives in a way to not have any self respect of her own. But that's just my view.
This movie is probably in my top 5 ever. I can’t explain why other than the transitions are so how my head works and it feels so comfortable like when I was touring in a band in my early 20s.
Growing up in Toronto, the Toronto pictured here, seeing this was really fun. I even had my High School grad dance at the castle Chris Evans fought at. I haven't watched many of your reactions recently as I hadn't seen some of the content, so this was fun to do again. 👍
Something that I really love is that in this movie almost everyone is shit and has tehir own issues and those issues eventually catches up to them, specially Scott and Ramona, they're toxic with themselves, one another and the people around them. That's why I find it hilarious that Nega-Scott is actually a cool nice guy, cause the true Scott is such a garbage lol
If you like the overall style of this movie you should definitely check out Edgar Wright's other work, he's *really* good. The main three most people talk about are Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and At World's End (commonly known as "The Cornetto Trilogy").
23:27 Roxy Richter played by Mae Whitman, who's a prolific voice actress including for Batgirl, Katara (Avatar The Last Airbender), Yuffie (Final Fantasy), April O'Neil (TMNT), and Amity (Owl House) 😁
8:45 ah yeah, i remember the first time i watched your reaction content, i thought you remind me of ramona flowers from that scott pilgrim movie, and now you relate so much with her being fellow tea drinker, you are indeed the IRL Ramona
well. some asian parents are conservative/traditionalists and do expect their kids especially daughters to stick to their values, traditions and race.... back in the day this was more common for the asian family's which migrated to the western country's, but even now you can find people who still think like that, granted its more rare now.
the series is SO COOL TOO, it starts pretty much thr same but then... things take a turn, let's say that I honestly LOVED IT and I'd be super happy to watch you react to it
Yeah you're getting a like for your tea collection alone! Mine is not quite as established, but I think that is still my favourite moment in the whole movie.
"I can't relate. I never had a group of friends" In my head cannon you, Maggy, and the others from the homies are friends and hang out beyond reacting.
Your excellent reaction and quick understanding of the movie's style kept me watching but it was your tea collection and editing skills that got you a subscriber.
The movie is absolutely gorgeous, but it left out one important detail from the comic - when Scott talks about how he fought for Kim with a huge evil dude who flew around and shot lightning bolts out of his eyes. So in the comic, we're shown how Kim remembers this scene - that the villain was just a regular Chinese goggle-eyed student who hugged her once, and Scott just beat him up in one go. So, all this cartoonishness, supervillains and cool battles are only in Scott's head, and every other person sees everything differently. And even Gideon is just another guy traumatized by a failed relationship. Scott eventually realizes this - and that's why Scott's battle " vs. the world" ends up being a battle vs. himself. And that's why Scott and Ramona fell in love - they're different, but they see the world the same strange way. I highly recommend the comic book, it's absolutely masterpiece.
The new show Scott Pilgrim Takes Off has reignited my obsession with this property. There's no way you can react to this movie without reacting to the show next.
Edgar Wright the person who directed this movie also directed hot fuzz and Shaun of the dead. It’s part of a comedy Trilogy storing Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. None of the movies are connected plot wise. It’s just the actors, it’s starts with Shaun of the dead which is horror comedy, then hot fuzz which is a action comedy and finally at worlds end which I think a sci fi comedy. If you like this movie I recommend all these
My favorite part is "BREAD MAKES YOU FAT?!?!" Lol. I may watch this again for the 20th time, since it's been forever anyway just for the sake of nostalgia.
Hey Trixy been a fan of yours for a while finally joined your OF i recently discovered thinking it was only extra reaction stuff and DAMN I WAS NOT READY FOR ALL OF THAT LMAO DAMN GIRL!!!!
The Netflix anime is based on the Graphic Novel that this movie is also based on. This movie is first in terms of which was done cinematically. The anime also has pretty much the same entire cast doing the voices as well. The Netflix show is done in the style of the Graphic Novel, which uses anime/manga style heavily in the artwork.
But you failed to mention the Anime went in a different direction with a new Story. That is for the better, give more info on the exes and all that stuff.
@@judistzoinkiski3395 No. I did not fail to mention that. YOU just spoiled the surprise for her in case she wants to watch it. And if anybody else also hasn't seen it yet. Not telling them anything about the plot is just a given. But hey, be a spoiler, if that's what you want.
Scott takes almost no independent action in the entire movie, almost without exception only doing something after someone's told him to do so. Persuing Romana at the end (Knives tells him to), fighting Gideon (Wallace), etc etc. Scott has a good character arc though the movie, but still has to work on the Power of Self Motivation.
I love this movie. It's not complicated and clean AF in style for video game and comic book fans. The amount of cameo's in the film were awesome and the cast did an amazing job. When I first saw this I rewatched the movie 4 times the first week. Brie Larson was also smoking hot here. Happy you got to see this. I still feel Edgar Wright should direct a Marvel film to sync up with some people in this cast again.
I love this movie, and I know it backward and forward. So I mean it when I say that the Netflix show is even more worthwhile -- it's just as fun as the movie, but with more to say.
Back in 2015 there was a Canadian show called Dark Matter that came out. Ellen Wong (who plays Knives) has a character on that show and she takes the cuteness of Knives and turns her into a sadistic brutal killer and yet she's still very pretty. I guess when you are evil you HAVE TO BE sexy. It's like a Cosmic Rule or something. lol. Black Holes destroy everything that gets close and evil women are God-Tier sexy AF. The story is OK, characterwise Knives is the best in the movie, I like how they make fun of vegans feeling they are better than everyone else, but what really sells this movie to me is the narration style. The mixture of comic/videogame/anime/music-video in a single story is just great. A very enjoyable piece of art.
So when the ex-girlfriend tells Scott as she dies into bus fare, “You’ll never be able to do this to her.” But… he just did it to YOU, a lesbian who is not attracted to him at all. Presumably, he could… and I know this is crazy… talk to her to find out how best to do that to hey. The fingertip he used to do it to Trixie (such a cliche name) had nothing particularly fendered about it. Rude people might even call it feminine.

And Michael Cera ended up playing Robin in the Lego Batman movie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead was Huntress in The Birds of Prey movie.
They all stayed friends as well
