- Super Smash bros Ultimate’s biggest DLC character was of course Steve from Minecraft. Steve is one of the most unique characters in smash ultimate, with one of his main traits being to place blocks on every stage in the game. However, while some stages change what blocks Steve places to match better, not all stages do this, so today I want to give all 115 stages in super smash bros ultimate unique blocks from minecraft for steve to place down!

ok but netherrack should 100% have been a dirt replacement for some stages

A few things I would've changed:
1. The jungle maps should've had... jungle wood
2. Also, I feel like the Luigi's Mansion stage could've used Dark Oak Wood. Not only is it a darker map, but it also references the Woodland Mansions in Minecraft
plus dark oak is the best wood and it is a crime that it is not used

I think oak is basic, but it goes with everything. Another contender for best wood. Literally any wood except birch is a contender
3:08, for this I would do jungle wood for the wood just to reference it’s a jungle (not cuz it looks good) and leaves for the miscellaneous.

and the stone could be mossy stone as a soft reference to the jungle temples

For the yoshis island stage with the pink floor, pink concrete powder is a lighter color than regular pink concrete.
True, and sands is in the base game so any arguments about falling blocks are invalid.

Cool video but just one nitpick
The miscellaneous block is usually a weak block hence why it’s given to you the most (dirt, wool, etc) can be broken easily by hand which some of the blocks you have for some stages don’t make a lot of sense

Yeah that’s why near the beginning of the video he said he would be ignoring the fact that it’s supposed to be a weak block so he could just have fun with it
I'd love if he did another video (more content after all) where he is more strict, and actually considers gameplay. Dark wood or dark stone blocks shouldn't be used, because it would be too hard to see.

I heavily disagree with moss stone being used in temple for misc, when it’s moss STONE. I think it should still be dirt. I also think Netherite blocks are way to strong to be a misc block. I’d replace the one in Norfair with Netherack. I think instead of polished andesite we could do green wool because of a few green cloth parts of the ship. Once again I’m replacing Andesite with Sandstone in Colosseum. I also think the glass in Umbre Clock Tower should be magenta. I’d give Mementos red concrete. Since Steve can’t get ores normally, he’d instead use pure emerald blocks. Finally, on hollow bastion the misc should be Purpur.
yeah i think instead of having the _misc block_ be mossy stone, it should have been.. y'know.. _the stone_

You could use Yellow Glazed Terracotta for Skyloft, I mean, the pattern when you use more than one of that block looks a bit like the main platform.

I'd say sometimes you could switch out the wood to fit the vibe, like dark oak for Dracula's, or Birch for Fountain of Dreams
Odyssey: the cold levels use spruce planks because spruce forests are cold.
Also Odyssey: the jungle stages use oak. Deal with it.

Hey Odyssey, been watching your stuff for a while, and wanted to thank you. Here were some of my thoughts on various blocks that I might use for the stages.Yoshi's Island should use Pearlescent Froglight, and crimson wood. Skyworld should use Birch wood. Pirate Ship might enjoy brown concrete as is Misc. Block. Spear Pillar, I actually would use either Emerald or green glass, or perhaps Verdant Froglight for the Misc. Block. Skyloft Should be Birch, Standard Stone and Brown Glazed Terracotta. For mementos, it should switch between Mangrove, warped, and birch wood, depending on if it is red, blue or yellow in form. For Hero's stage, where's that cyan glazed Terracotta? Garreg Mach should use mud bricks, not endstone. Northern cave might use verdant froglight. This isn't a criticism, just my take on your interesting prompt.
As someone, who had put over 2500 hours into minecraft, I found this idea to be creative. I played a lot of smash ultimate lately with my friends during the summer, and all of them have a lot of playtime in minecraft. So we all really liked this unique video. Great job Odyssey! Also I really like the SMW Dry Bones in the Minecraft background, looks nice.
8:03 I think lime wool fits the colour better than the green as it’s not as dark and for quite a few of the darker stages you picked oak wood but dark oak might be better for some of them. At 13:08,Purpur pillars might be better than purple concrete as purple concrete is more purple and not as light and the pillars might show the cracked pieces on the platforms.
To be honest I think all the donkey kong stages should be jungle wood

Really solid choices! I'm glad you finally got around to making this video! I have a few things I'd change, but the main one is that Skyloft could be the yellow glazed terracotta block as well for the miscellaneous block.
0:50 wool is also used in Duck Hunt, if you mine when on top of the dog.
It's a shame that Nintendo didn't actually think about the hundreds of possibilities for block types during development. Nonetheless, great video!

For me it’s like the fact they didn’t reference netherite in Steve’s kit, 1.16 had technically been out for a few months when he released but diamond is just more iconic
@@the_dark_tortellino8499 While I agree that it would have been way more effort than it’s worth to do all this stuff, no one here is suggesting changing anything about the stages, purely the blocks that Steve uses.
Jungle planks should be used for the DK stages(which literally have jungle in their name) 9:45 there's literally green wood right below the orange platform, it should be warped planks. 11:50 pink concrete powder matches the color a bit closer. 12:10 honey comb blocks or yellow glazed terracotta match the color and pattern better. 7:47 12:20 quartz bricks look closer to the texture. 8:03 lime wool or lime concrete powder would be better. 14:20 dark oak would fit better. 15:11 looks closer to red nether bricks. 16:45 lime concrete powder is closer to the shade of green. 17:05 end stone bricks look closer to it. 19:47 yellow glazed terracotta fits the yellow parts pretty well when placed in a pattern so that. 22:46 those definitely look more like spruce trees. 26:15 purpur blocks match the color and texture much better

Here's an idea: Have the stone on Spear Pillar be Emerald ore Due to the crystal cave underneath the stage
For the pixelated stages like Dream Land GB and Duck Hunt, I think redstone blocks would work as a miscellaneous block because they're kind of like electricity

I think I’d make the miscellaneous block for Skyloft Yellow Glazed Terracotta. It has a kinda similar pattern, and the stage is pretty yellow.

Fourside has a part in Earthbound called moonside where the entire map is blackened and is outlined with neon lights. This is a stage I feel the frog lights would work
Intentional or not, Saffron City having Oak wood is very fitting for the professor.

I think you could have switched up the wood types for stages that don't really feature wood, rather than defaulting to oak. Maybe just pick one at random if there's no clear choice?

I was thinking that if you wanted to change the iron block, you could make every jewel block(diamond, gold, amethyst, etc.) represent a different game franchise. Like red stone block for Mario stages, emerald block for Zelda, so on and so forth. Honestly tho, good video, some of these palettes I might use in some builds.

With Skyloft, the miscellaneous block could be brown glazed terracotta, if you squint hard enough. My main reasoning is if you have 4 of them in a 2x2 grid, and look from above (if it's on the floor), it makes a pretty cool pattern that's similar to the pattern on the floating platform. But that's just my idea, and I know someone could do better, but I worked with what I had

I had no idea I had such strong opinions on this niche topic until I watched this video. There are so many things I strongly love and hate in this list that I won’t even try to list everything. Either way, this is a phenomenal video, and I thank you for getting me to think about this hypothetical more than I probably should.

I do disagree with your Purpur block idea. Hear me out- it's not because purpur blocks don't look like the stage- they very much do.
The trouble is, though, that the 'misc' blocks were meant to be one tier weaker than wood; and many of the misc blocks you chose, such as prismarine, purpur, and red sandstone (just from the first handful of stages) *shouldn't qualify*. As cool as it would be to see those come out, from a gameplay perspective it just wouldn't make sense.
For the misc blocks it makes more sense to pull from various colors of wool, dirt, gravel, red sand, even leaves would make more sense. Aside from that gripe, this is a really fun video. Thank you.
Oak is versatile, more so than its more popular brother, Spruce. You can never escape the Oak.
Smm2 tip If you overlap the window semisolds and Pillars semi solids you will get a solid wall. It works best in the sky theme. For sky loft I would go with lime glazed terracotta
i think any example of the verdant froglight you used in this video would be much better as a prismarine lamp.
also the last stage should DEFINITELY have used purpur.
Personally I would've wanted at least one stage to use petrified wood, if only to highlight that's something that exists. And more spruce!

I think I have a better miscellaneous block for Fountain of Dreams, that being wet sponges. Also for Forside, I would have Acacia be the wood for the same reason as you did Copper for miscellaneous, I would have Chiseled Deepslate be the stone to represent the UFO, and I would have Tinted Glass be miscellaneous because that’s the color of the windows, and Norfair should have the miscellaneous block be Skulk Catalysts because the lights glow blue like activated Skulk Sensors (which I didn’t use because I thought it should be a full block) and it matches the vibe. Plus Distant Planet’s miscellaneous block should be Birch Leaves or Jungle Leaves instead. And Shadow Moses Island should have Weathered Copper as miscellaneous but now there is a better variant that being Weathered Waxed Copper Grates.
Pictochat 2 should also have the miscellaneous block be made out of Jigsaw Blocks because it’s a perfect fit and Midgar’s should be Structure Voids because it’s Final Fantasy (a fantasy aka not real) and Structure Voids have no reason to exist. Northern cave should have the miscellaneous block be Chain Command Blocks because Sephiroth is too powerful
7:07 why not use pink or White glazed terracotta for the misc block? The colors are similar and the patterns could represent the texture on the foundation itself
Even for new pork city, you could’ve looked into using the pink or purple glaze terracotta to represent the patterns on the ground

Bruh Jungle Wood would work perfectly for Kongo Jungle! It’s literally called ‘Jungle’!
I think you should've used jungle wood for Kongo Jungle, and Jungle Japes since they're a jungle. I think Yoshi's Island should've used pink wool instead of concrete. I think Dreamland GB should've used birch wood. Unovo Pokemon League should have Endstone bricks for the misc block. Skyloft could use glazed gray terracotta as it's misc block. When I built the Great Plateau Tower I used a lot of birch planks and dark oak planks so it could use one of those. Finally I think light gray glazed terracotta would work well for Yggdrasil's Altar since it has a similar pattern.
