The Great Central Railway, in Leicestershire UK, offers a unique opportunity to witness the ambiance of a night-time railway in full operation. Operating right through the night, the railway runs passenger, parcels and freight trains right through Saturday night into Sunday morning.
This is part one of two parts, covering the event. Part one takes us through the late afternoon and into dusk. Part two shows the railway running in the dead of night. In both you'll see steam and diesel hauled passenger, freight and parcels trains in an unusual light for a heritage railway.
